10/21/39 Saturday morning - letter to EC:
Dear Edgar:
Received your letter and it surely was a tonic to hear from
you. I have been home in bed practically all week, but
today feel a little bit better although terribly weak. I
don't understand why I have these spells. I take such good
care of myself and do everything that you tell me. However,
perhaps a check reading will tell what is causing it and what
to do. If you are giving any real soon, would you include me
in them? If you will let me know I will arrange to be home
at the time specified.
Questions are on other page. Will write you more when I get
some strength.
Love from us both to all
1. Would adrenalin injections given by Dr. McCue build up my
glands to normal?
2. If so, how often should they be given?
3. If not, what would be the means of building up my glands
permanently?
4. What should I do to increase blood pressure?
5. Would the seeds in figs be too much roughage for this
body?
6. What causes mental fatigue and what is remedy for it?
7. When I get these glandular spells is it necessary for me
to rest completely?
8. Why have these spells been coming more frequently in the
past year? Is there anything I am doing that is causing
this?
(If the reading gives me something else to take you might ask
if it will be alright to continue taking Adiron as indicated
before and liver extract.)
I want to explain that first question. I used to have a room
in the house that Dr. & Mrs. McCue owned. Now Dr. McCue
after years of study and research has turned out to be quite
a gland specialist. We have seen them on occasions and he
insists that these injections would cure me once and for all.
He claims that he has had similar cases and cured them in 6
to 8 weeks. So I would just like to know what the reading
has to say about it.
It surely would be wonderful to feel good all the time. I'll
feel good one day and the next day feel bad enough to stay in
bed all day. If I did things to cause this exhaustion I
wouldn't mind, but I take such excellent care of myself. I
think one of these days I'll go out on a good drunk and then
when I feel bad the next day I will know the reason. This
way I can't understand it.
Well, anyway, to get back to Dr. McCue - He gave me three of
these injections last week and I have had what I call a bad
reaction. He said it wasn't from the injection but just one
of my bad spells. However, I shall not have another unless
the reading says so.
