This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 29th day of December, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [826], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [826]; this we have had before.
3. Here we find there is too great a tendency on the part of the body to be too scientific with itself as related to diet and chemical reactions in the body.
4. True, the body has been passing through those periods which - with the mind giving power to those astrological effects - have been contributory to the disturbing conditions in the body.
5. The administering of the active forces through or in the body, by the chemical lack, rather than through the proper assimilation of the vitamins necessary, has tended - with the activities of the mind over same - to clog the system, rather than being assimilated by the system.
6. Thus the lacking elements of B-1 (or thiamine), and the acids that are a combination of B-1, G and D, have NOT been assimilated from the chemical standpoint. And the diet not being balanced caused the tiredness, the upsetting in the vital energies of the body; headaches, eyes tired, the trembly feelings through the body. All of these have come from this CONFUSION in the assimilating system.
7. As we find, the diets that bring a normal amount of vitamins especially A, D, B-1, G and K may be had in the PROPER consideration of foods, rather than chemicals.
8. Hence, quantities of bread - as the whole wheat - is not sufficient in its supply. Though supplying B-1 sufficiently, it overclogs the system and causes a lack of reaction in the colon area; thus forming gases when this is attempted to be supplied by this means alone.
9. With this combine citrus fruits though not at the same time; have rather the citrus fruits one day and the re-inforced cereals the next day.
10. Also have fish and fowl, but these prepared with the reinforced vitamins in the flour, the meal or the like. Use not the vegetable oils in the cooking, but either the peanut oil or the Parkay margarine - for this especially carries D in a manner that conforms with these properties in preparation for assimilation by the body.
11. Green beans, not dried beans; lettuce, carrots - these cooked in their OWN juices and not just in water, but in Patapar Paper in the juices preserved in same. The fruits AND the vegetables, not those that have been frozen but those that are preserved either in their own syrup or in the regular cane syrup and NOT those prepared with benzoate or any preservative, - for the benzoate becomes hard upon the system.
12. In THESE manners we would observe the diets, - and with more of a spiritual and not so much material attitude, for creative and constructive influence, will bring bettered conditions for this body.

14. Occasionally have not only an exercise that tires the muscles but a perfect relaxation, as with the hydrotherapy treatments, - not merely a steam bath but a fume bath, with witchhazel as the fumes, and the rubdown with oils that may be assimilated for stimulating disturbances to the superficial circulation. In the fume bath use a little dry heat, but MORE the fume from witchhazel in water that may settle over the body in the cabinet, see? The proportions would be an ounce of the witchhazel to four ounces of water in a croup cup or the like, or in an open container in the closed cabinet. These will aid the body. Have these with the rubdowns at least once each week. Then have the rubdown with Peanut Oil, - if the body would never have arthritis or neuritic reactions.

17. (Q) What elements did I have in my body or in my diet in November and early December, 1940, which I don't have now, and which enabled my body to improve rapidly in health?
    (A) As indicated, there has been a clogging of the system by the attempt to assimilate. And then the phases of the astrological aspects, given power by the mind of the body itself. Create rather that faith and hope as ye would desire others have in thee; this to the divine within that is capable of constantly renewing the body.

REPORTS

1. 7/14/42 Letter in re meditation as reported under 826-11:
   I have tried the concentration [meditation] recommended by the readings, but I do not appear to get any material or apparent benefit from it. It seems to me that I get a great deal more value from using astrology to bring about things desired. You will note that in my last reading, Mr. Cayce called attention to the fact that I was using astrology to affect conditions. I have discovered how to do this so that it tends to bring about or help to bring about over a period of time most any thing desired. Of course we are now just entering into that astrological cycle, 2500 years in length, ruled by Uranus, which rules the occult, machines, and the air, together with electricity, radio, etc., and during this cycle man should become master of those things.
   The next cycle as I recall is ruled by Neptune, relating to occult and spiritual matters, when man no doubt will master the spirit mind and come no doubt to understand the fourth dimension and the spirit world. I am wondering if the time has come yet when man is to acquire great spiritual power.
