(Q) What is the cause of my overweight? Outline the right
diet.
(A) The overweight, of course, is produced by those
tendencies of the body to attempt to assimilate too great
quantities of proteins and carbohydrates that make for the
increase in avoirdupois. This would be as an outline for the
diet, though to be sure - this may be altered from time to
time; for this is as an outline that would work better with
the applications indicated, and would make for much nearer
normalcy in the weight for the body:
Mornings - citrus fruit juices, though do not combine cereals
with same, or have the two at the same meal. But cereals,
especially wheat and barley - or as in Maltex - may be at
times taken. Coddled egg, but ONLY the yolk would be taken.
Coffee or tea in very SMALL quantities, or preferably
Ovaltine or a cereal drink. Or as Malta Lava [?], which is a
combination of the malta [?] as a tea combined from the
activities in Paraguay or Uraguay. (Nova Mate') [?]
[pronounced mah'-ta]
Noons - only raw green vegetables. These may be combined in
any manner that is more palatable, whether with oil dressings
or mayonnaise.
Evenings - only the green vegetables that are well-cooked,
and cooked only in their own salts, you see; that is, not
cooked in water but let all the juices combined with same be
maintained, or stewed in Patapar paper in the cooking of
same. No quantities of meats, of course, at any time; but
when meats are taken let them be rather mutton, fowl or fish.
Such a diet will make for the nearer normal avoirdupois or
weight for this body.
And we will remove those conditions in the colon; thus we
will increase the sympathetic and capillary circulation, and
we will have many, many, many years of useful activity,
physically and mentally.
We are through for the present.
