8/25/38 [
843]'s letter to EC:
... Avenue
Asheville, N.C.
Mr. Edgar Cayce,
Arctic Crescent,
Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce:-
I was very happy to get your friendly and encouraging letter
of the 17th, and I would have written you sooner and
expressed my appreciation for the wonderful reading which you
gave me on Monday of last week but for the fact that I have
been the victim of a so-called "bad cold" since Wednesday of
last week. My cold is much better now, and I shall proceed
to carry out your reading suggestions to the letter - will
use the batteries, stupes and everything.
I am convinced that you could not possibly give me such an
accurate reading if it were not for the fact that you receive
your power from God. I think it is perfectly wonderful that
you should be so Divinely gifted, and the nicest thing about
it all is the fact that you use your extraordinary endowments
only for the good of humanity.
I have visited some of the best medical doctors in the
country the past few years but they have been 99% wrong in
their diagnostic and treatment methods, whereas, I am
confident that your diagnostic and treatment suggestions are
just 100% right, and since I was helped so much in 1935 by
following your suggestions you may now bet your last dollar
that I shall immediately start to doing all the things which
you have suggested in the six readings which you have given
me, and, six months from today I am confident that most of
my present troubles will be gone, and that I will be enjoying
a degree of health which I have not known for many years.
So, I thank God for you and your Divinely appointed
assistance.
I expect to go to Washington in a week or ten days so that
my sister, [
678], and mother can help me put your program
over as it should be. I will then secure real results, and
will keep you posted regarding my progress.
My sister [
264], wrote me a very fine interpretative letter
regarding your last reading. I wish to thank you for having
done so much for her. I believe she will soon be well.
With all good wishes, I am
Sincerely yours, [
843]
9/22/38 Sister [
678] sent questions for her brother's Life
Reading, saying: "[
843] seems much better and stronger in
many respects and he attributes much of his improvement to
the several very fine readings which you have given him. He
is adhering to the diet and other treatment methods suggested
by you, including the use of the two batteries - daily."
9/26/38 Sister [
678] wrote asking that a Ck. Physical be
given instead of the Life Reading at the time appointed:
Since [
843] will go through Durham he wants you to give him
a physical reading at this time so he will be in a position
to know whether he should stop at Duke Hospital and consult
Dr. Alyea or Dr. Ruffing or some other doctor there regarding
his present condition, especially in relation to the stone.
I feel confident that you will gladly switch the physical
reading in place of the life reading at this time. He will
carry out your instructions to the letter, as he has
unlimited faith in you. If you think he should see a doctor
at Duke at this time he will do so, otherwise he will
continue on to Asheville and use your treatment suggestions.
I am wiring you tonight, asking you to change the readings,
as indicated above. On Wednesday night, after 7 P.M. I wish
you would call me over the phone - charges reversed -
Cleveland ..., Apartment ..., and read [
843]'s reading to me,
or at least give me the high lights in the reading, so he
will know whether or not he should stop in Durham the
following day. On the afternoon of Wednesday, after the
reading has been typed, I wish you would send it to [
843] to
the following address: ..., Malbourne Hotel, Durham, N.C.,
so he will receive it about noon on September 29th. Please
send the letter Special Delivery, and I am enclosing stamps
for that purpose.
I wish you would mail a copy of the reading to me.
