This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 8th day of March, 1935, in accordance with request made by the daughter - Miss [295], Active Member of the Association for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before under another name - this had another name then, though. [GD's note: In her three readings she had three different names, since she was married and divorced twice between the 1st rdg. and 3rd.]
2. Ready for questions.
3. (Q) What causes the extreme pain at times in the upper right side?
   (A) Poisons that arise from the tendencies for the accumulations of clots about the cerebrospinal center, especially from the tubes of assimilation, as with those that form for the grease or proteins for its digestion and assimilation with the gastric flow of the liver, spleen and pancreas, that empty into the lungs, see? These arise from an over quantity of stimulation - as like in MOST from the LACK of stimulation! These necessitate, then, that there be this considered as a portion of that as may be applied for helpfulness to the body.
4. (Q) What can be done for the condition or the sores in the mouth?
   (A) These arise from infectious forces that have been in the body for some time. This would require for the proper eliminations the use of the electrical forces as in diathermy, making the applications so the eliminations would be through those applications to the 3rd and 4th dorsal and the umbilicii center - the low vibrations of same and given for about thirty to forty minutes, and would require fifteen to twenty such treatments.
   And also an alkaline antiseptic used as a wash. This condition is infectious, and should be mindful of by those about the body.
5. (Q) What produced this condition?
   (A) Infectious forces from within the body.
   Using Lavoris as an antiseptic wash will be well, see?
6. (Q) Is the Ipsab beneficial for this condition?
   (A) Ipsab would be harmful for such a condition. Use Lavoris as an antiseptic wash.
7. (Q) Give directions for spinal massage or other massages, if these are beneficial.
   (A) The spinal massages that would be preferable would be with a combination in this manner:
   To 1/2 gallon of plain gasoline, add:

   Camphor Gum............1 dram,
Olive Oil..............1 pint,
Witchhazel...........1/2 pint,
Oil of Mustard.......1/2 ounce.

   (Of course, this may be made in much smaller quantities, but this proportion, see?)
   Shake these together when they are to be used. After a thorough sponging of the spine and those portions of the limbs that are indicated in their locomotory centers as being involved, and especially in the 4th lumbar area and the brachial area (preferably sponging off with a very hot solution), then apply this massaging with the oils - only what the body will absorb.
   For the general condition keep an alkalin diet.
   Following the meals there should be taken 6 to 8 drops of Essence of Lactated Pepsin in which there would be put 2 - 1 or 2 drops of Milk of Bismuth.
   We would find the better eliminant to use would be Milk of Magnesia. While this may necessitate changing as to quantity, the use of high enemas would be well - using a level teaspoonful of salt to a heaping teaspoonful of soda to a quart of water, and a little Lavoris - about a tablespoonful - in the last rinse water. These would aid the eliminations and keep the body nearer to normalcy in these directions.
8. (Q) Outline other treatments body should have.
   (A) As has been indicated.
9. (Q) Does the body need a tonic?
   (A) These will be tonics if they will be taken in this way and manner!
10. (Q) Please outline the proper diet for this body.
    (A) An alkalin diet, as has been indicated, which means those things that do not create acids - which do not have too much carbohydrates; that is, sweets in ANY form nor too much of the starches - as the bulk of the potato or white bread or the like.
11. (Q) Can body expect to fully recover from the effects of the paralyses?
    (A) No; not in this experience.
12. (Q) Can anything be done to restore the use of the right hand, arm and limb?
    (A) As indicated with these rubs would be the BETTER and greater use. But there will have to be removed those infectious influences that cause the blood disturbance!
13. (Q) What should be done to relieve the extreme pain at times in the upper right side?
    (A) As has been indicated, the use of these will gradually diminish these disturbances.

It is a great relief to know what to do for her, and we have started, all but the diathermy, which I hope to get started on soon. She is in a pretty bad shape, I guess. I have been massaging her most every night. Of course I am careful as I can be regarding the infection. Her mouth is very sore and she complains still of the pain in the side, but not as much, I believe."
