(Q) Should I eat whole wheat bread? Please outline diet.
(A) In making administrations, as we find for this body,
these would be well:
All of the conditions that have been indicated should be
taken into consideration, and there may be seen - by
analyzing same - as to how EACH phase of the disturbances
is included here in the applications as would be most
beneficial.
First we would begin by taking at least a full bottle of
Grove's Chill tonic, as a tonic - but take this twice a day.
After this has been taken, have a good evacuation - using the
colon irrigation, see?
Then rest a day, and then begin and take until at least four
or five more days of the doses are taken. Then have another
good irrigation.
After the first irrigation, begin with a Peanut Oil rub each
evening - when ready to retire - especially along the spine
and over the whole of the abdominal area.
DO take ALL foods in which there are the re-inforced or large
quantities of vitamins A, D, and B-1. This, of course,
includes whole wheat bread, especially if such bread is made
of cracked wheat OR re-inforced flour.
Do these and as we find we may make for the better conditions
with this body.
We are through for the present.

REPORTS
12/12/41 EC's ltr. to [
851]:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Thank you so much for my reading, also the nice note, under
separate cover. Both came this afternoon. I was delighted
to know from the reading that so much can be done for my
condition - and really with so little effort, on my part.
Since those Castor Oil packs that you advised me to use
several years ago, have always helped me, whenever I used,
even, one of them, I think I will use a few of them again.
I feel sure the packs will help the liver condition along
with the other things advised.
12/18/41 "Please tell me what foods contain vitamins A, D, &
B-1 besides those contained in whole wheat bread - which
would be best for me."
12/24/41 EC's ltr. to [
851]:
Dear Mrs. [
851];-
Have yours of the 18th. Glad to help any way we can. These
are the reports as we have them from our information; - for
A and D it often recommends that one take One a Day brand of
Vitamin tablets - you take just one pellet a day of these, it
also suggests that as B-1 is not stored as many others are
that these be taken in foods especially as they are more
easily assimilated, and one gets more of the active foods
value.
Sources of A - are Whole Milk, Butter, Fresh Cheese, Egg
Yolk, Codliver Oil, Green leafy vegetables, (cooked and raw)
Yellow Corn (yellow meal also), Yellow Sweet potatoes,
Spinach, Green Beans, Peas, Fully Ripe Bananas, Fish. These
are also sources of D. Turnips, Carrots, Lettuce, Raw Ripe
fruits of all kinds.
B-1 - Eggs and all yellow fruit and vegetables of every kind
- whole grain cereal of every kind.
As many of these may not agree with you there is usually
enough for you to select from to make out fine. Hope this
helps along and that you are soon feeling just fine.
Hoping every good wish for you at Christmas, asking to be
remembered to Miss [
678], and the [
264]-[
853]'s when you
see them.
And may the New Year bring you joy and happiness.
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce
11/21/43 Letter from Mrs. [
264] to EC: "...Mother [
851] and
[
678] are all right."
1/27/44 Letter from Mrs. [
264] to EC: "...Mother [
851] has
been in with a cold for over four weeks. Have been nursing
her and helping fix her meals. I did not stay in bed.
[
678] had more than she could do. I was exhausted when I
reached here. Nursing Mother would not have hurt me - it was
so much less than what I had been doing for months (I was in
[N.C.] exactly 7 months. Isn't that interesting?) but
Mother's attitude is negative - out of harmony with the
world, and everybody and everything in it. Poor dear, there
is so little coordination in her body or organs - it is a
struggle for her to live. She [
851] is eighty-one and is mad
about that. I tried reasoning with her, but she fought me
down, so now I just pray and try to 'see her as God sees
her'. She has improved on that, too..."
8/07/44 Mrs. [
264]'s note: "Mother [
851] has just returned
from my brother [
843]'s."
7/53 Report by Mrs. [
264]: "Mother died
8/31/52 [at age 90]
with gall bladder trouble. She was perfectly active and well
until the night before. She attributed her active life and
good health to following Edgar Cayce's readings."
