This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Cambridge Hotel, Apt. 103, 60 West 68th Street, New York City, New York, this 17th day of January, 1925, in accordance with request made by [900].

TEXT

1. [900]: Now you will have before you the reading given on the 16th day of January, 1925, [900-21] on the subject matter of the book [3744], written by Edgar Cayce in the psychic condition, and the analysis made by the body, [900], on this book. You will continue to answer questions on this matter.
2. EC: Yes, we have the subject matter as transcribed here, and the enquiring mind of [900], relative to such subject matter. These subject matters, we find, are the explanation as of subject matter given in book, and are in keeping with that intent and purpose that the enquiring mind of each entity may gain the better knowledge of self, or in other words, what it's all about anyway. Ready for questions.
3. (Q) What is meant by souls within this sphere may be communicated with by the body, Edgar Cayce, in the psychic state?
   (A) Each and every soul entity, or earthly entity, passing through the earth's plane, radiates in that plane those conditions that are radiated from the soul or spiritual entity in the individual. This, then, becomes the fact, the real fact, in the material world. When the body, Edgar Cayce, in the psychic or subconscious condition, is able then to reach all the subconscious minds, when directed to such subconscious minds by suggestion, whether in the material world or in the spiritual world, provided the spiritual entity has not passed entirely into that condition where the radiation, or the relative forces, are superseded by other radiations. Then we only reach those radiations left in earth's plane that are taken again when entering in earth's plane, whether entity [is] conscious of same or not. The consciousness of reaching that condition wherein the physical body may take up that truth known, must be reached by all. Hence the given expression, the body, Edgar Cayce, in the subconscious condition, may communicate with those passed into the spiritual plane.
4. (Q) In reality, then, the body, Edgar Cayce, in the psychic state, communicates with thoughts, and not with the spiritual entities themselves.
   (A) With the thoughts, and with the radiation as is given. Then we have as the illustration of this condition in the body, [900]. We have, when this entity enters the subconscious, through the medium of laying aside the conscious mind, and the projection of the spiritual guide, the father, the thoughts, the impressions, as would be given by that entity, entering the subconsciousness of [900]. Not the spiritual entity's taking form, save in the subconsciousness of [900].
5. (Q) Then, may the body, [900], his spiritual guide recede to that point, or position, where the body, [900], may no longer receive those radiations?
   (A) Not until [900] supersedes those radiations by creations in radiations of his own, for thoughts are deeds, and all conditions remain, as given.
6. (Q) Are those radiations like a vibratory force on our earth's plane, such as light wave?
   (A) May be compared to same, but of the spiritual radiation, and not material radiation; that is, those radiations as come from spirit form may take form in vibratory radiation of color, or light, through the individual's attunement.
7. (Q) Is the spiritual guide conscious of the communication with the earthly body?
   (A) When the spiritual entity so desires, it may. That entity has its own condition to receive.
8. (Q) Explain persona, its form, character and evolution.
   (A) Persona, that radiation through the individual in the earth plane as received by its development through the spiritual planes, as we would have in this: We find two entities in an earth plane, of same environment, of same hereditary conditions. One with a personality, or persona, radiating from every thought or action. The other submerging every other persona it may contact. Different degree of development. Persona comes from development, then, either in earth plane or spiritual plane. The persona [is] acquired physically, the persona [is a] natural development. This condition we find comes nearer to the radiation in astrological condition, for partakes of the environment of spheres or universal action in the developing entity. Hence we find persons born under certain solar conditions have that condition of persona that radiates in the same direction, while the individual conditions as brought to, or given off from such persona, may be of entirely a different nature, for these are of the different developments. As we find, that would be illustrated in conditions of individuals born in the material world, on the same moment. One in East, one in West. The different environment under which the persona would manifest would partake of that environment, yet there would be similar conditions in the earth plane to each entity.
9. (Q) What is meant by mental and physical, with relative forces connecting the soul force, and unbalancing of the truth may perform on the soul forces that which brings abnormal results to physical and soul matter?
   (A) An entity, knowing in self the results of certain psychological, physiological, or mental conditions, yet with material will vibrating or giving that directly opposed to the condition. These bring the conditions to the mental, the soul forces, of the body at an advarience [which are at variance] to the truth. This we find is manifest in many an individual in the earth plane, or as would be termed, [they] see the truth, but [are] too hardheaded to accept it.
