This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 23rd day of October, 1925, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [900].

TEXT

1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [900], of Apt. ..., ... St., N.Y. City, and the dreams this body had on the dates which I will give you. You will give the interpretation and lessons to be gained from each of these, as I read same to you, and you will answer the questions which I shall ask you regarding same.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [900]. We have had this body, this body-mind, here before. Ready for dream.
3. (Q) Saturday Night, Oct. 17, 1925, while enroute by automobile from New Haven Conn., (Penn-Yale Football game) to New York City. Voice: I can't recall which of the following words were presented - but it was either "No other games unless ordered," or "All other games as you are ordered." Recall which - interpret, explain and give that which is the right procedure for [900], as respect to the meaning of these words in the life of [900].
   (A) In this we find the entity, through the co-relation of subconscious and cosmic forces, gaining the hearing, as it were, of that inner self, and the warning as given in "No other games unless ordered," see? in that the conditions surrounding same, unless from that same inward force that gives the warning in this, there would bring detriment to the body-physical in attending such games. While the urge is for the body to enjoy such outings, well that this warning be heeded, that the unlikely conditions do not arise in the physical condition of the entity. So then act in that manner according to this warning, for here we find the entity reaching that position wherein the warnings may be given, through self's connection or association with those forces which become Universal in their action to the entity, [900].
4. (Q) Has this anything to do with other football games to come?
   (A) As given. Football games this season, unless warned, unless given that they attend, or to attend, STAY AWAY FROM THEM.
5. (Q) Sunday Morning, Oct. 18, at home, Apt. ..., ... St., N.Y. City. "Seemed to be an answer to my question of how better to give aid through our forming psychic Institute to the needy. Words then: 'Form a ladies' auxiliary under the auspices of the Institute.'" [Edgar Cayce Work]
   (A) This presenting to the entity a means or way in which to better further the work of that contemplated in the contemplated Institute for research as pertaining to that assistance in same in the lives of individuals seeking aid through that means. Giving then, as it were, that of the teaching or motherly force that may be applied [to] the young and old alike. This, especially, in reference, however, to the very young, who may be assisted in a way and manner. Such as is seen by many places where the ones unable to have advantage of play. Take same to such a place, see? and receive that training, through the auxiliary or ladies' aid to same, to further the benevolent work of such an Institution, see? A manner, a form, as it were, of which there may be seen in that as has been carried out by Life's Fresh Air Farm. This, as would be seen, a visit by the sea, in pines and sands, see?
6. (Q) Had it not be better that we acquire a greater treasury for the institute, that we may pay for the cures of the poor, - help them get the cures, advise and provide for them - do social service work in short, by means of this auxiliary?
   (A) There's no greater treasure than in the good of the lives that may be assisted, helped, saved, through aiding the young in such a manner, and means may be obtained through the benevolent forces as are in the lives, the hearts, of peoples all over the country. Prepare, then, first literature pertaining to such and send to the hundreds that have been interested in some phase of the work, asking for contri bution, from ten cents to ten hundred thousand dollars, see? It will come. Begin with that in hand. Have a purpose and work towards it.
7. (Q) The three shades again. Dark - lighter - lightest gray shading. "They are the three different consciousnesses you are writing about," said the voice.
   (A) These present as the entity heard in that consciousness wherein the inmost self or subconscious, through the action of superconscious, gives the entity that answer, see? for these are correct, as given, for the dense presenting or representing the physical consciousness, the shaded that of the subconscious, the lighter that of the superconscious, see? or vice versa, should entity choose to make same so, see? For we have as is magnified in color vibration. We find again another thought, as it were, to the mind of the entity here. All vibration, see, produces color. Lack of same, see, or lack of necessity of vibration, white or light. The change in the vibration producing the various shades of light gray, darker gray or darker gray, lighter - lighter still, see?
8. (Q) Same consciousness of the same Spirit Force and caused by the Spirit Energy,
   (A) (Interrupting) Correct.
9. (Q) but what relation do they bear to each other - that is what relation does an entity just changed into the elemental 4th dimension entity of an elemental 4th dimension spirit world, spirit life, bear to the 3rd dimension phenomenized entity it was?
   (A) This, as we see, will develop into the understanding of the mental forces of [900], as the entity is able to understand same, see? for the entity may, through retrospective forces, gain his own lesson from this. In the beginning he finds a mental unbalanced, or a mental seeking something - know not what, see? A gaining of a knowledge of a subconscious, a storehouse of that pertaining to physical, yet without a perspective manner of communicating that to the entity in which the entity may gain that impression received, see? Then that position, condition, wherein the entity, through dream visions, gains a perspective, an application of condition that is brought to the conscious or physical consciousness, see? Then again we have reached that point wherein the subconscious, with the superconscious directions, brings in the audible forces to the entity to guide same aright, see? There have been many visions to the entity wherein there is sought this same understanding, see? Little by little, line upon line, line upon line, the entity [is] gaining that necessary for the entity's perfect understanding of laws pertaining to man in the physical world and how in the phenomenized world, as it were, all may be made applicable to the individual needs of an entity, and THIS entity, [900]. Then, as the entity, [900], progresses, each will be given to the entity, until he stands in that threshold in which all may be viewed with that consciousness necessary to grasp the full understanding of the triune consciousnesses, see? Then seek that only as these are presented to the entity, and having gained that sure and certain foothold in the knowledge of same, reach up for the next step, for UNDERSTAND, one may reach before they are ready to step up, thereby losing the hold on that already obtained, see? for remember, it has been said: "Better one had never known than to turn again," see?
10. (Q) Does such an entity realize its changed condition, i.e. cognizing the spiritual energy and its phenomenization both at the same time, would the entity be able to identify himself as having experienced the life of a phenomenized Man called by a name, and at the same time cognize his present spiritual relations?
    (A) As has been given, these will be given in their time and their place, when the entity has gained that sure footing, as given from here, even the experience of those in the spirit plane may be given from one experience to another. More of this later.
11. (Q) What influence may a 4th dimension entity exert upon the consciousness of a 3rd dimension entity?
    (A) Answered in its season.
12. (Q) Is this 4th dimension entity a Super-man - one who may influence a mind of which the physical senses are in subjection, as in the case of Edgar Cayce now?
    (A) These will be answered in their season.
13. (Q) Monday Morning, Oct. 19, at home. I brought a little puppy dog in the house. I felt the little animal in my hand and it seemed so nice I showed the dog to [4255] and she said: "O, how cute - isn't he darling?" Then I was afraid the dog might dirty my hand, so I put him down on the floor. Suddenly the dog crooked his hind legs and became mean and snappy. I stepped back frightened and [4255] laughted as if to say "He won't hurt you, look at the little thing." He seemed awfully nice, but I wasn't so sure of him.
    (A) This in the emblematical manner presenting to the entity that which has been considered in that preceding. STUDY WELL, for the lesson will become apparent to the entity, [900]. Best that same be gained through his, [900], own understanding.
14. (Q) Oct. 20, at home. Saw my typewriter with a sheet of white paper in it. I seemed to have been dictating to my stenographer and we were preparing manuscripts for the Century magazine and Sunday papers. That's what it seemed like. Then the Voice: "After the first of the year."
    (A) This, then, may be taken as the entity has builded in its own subconsciousness, that relate in the work as contemplated, see? and may be builded to that injection as given, see? The conditions, then, become one of entity's own making, from the superconscious forces dwelling or feeding upon that given to the subconscious through conscious forces. Gain that. As is given, the sooner these are complied with, the better may the entity gain that perfect understanding, for as is given, the working, the compiling of such, through same comes that knowledge of same and its application, as has been seen and tried by entity.
15. (Q) "Another dream I cannot remember. Recall and interpret."
    (A) This, as we see, the other dream: The forces as applied in the writing; rather reading from written pages - there is seen by the entity that which did not co-relate with that which the entity attempted to give the understanding to the magazine, yet accredited to this entity. In this we see the fullness of the necessity of entity carrying on that as has been given.
