This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of November, 1925, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [900].

Present: Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.

TEXT

1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [900], of Apt. ..., ... St., New York City, and the dreams this body had on the date which I will give you, and you wil answer the questions which I shall ask you regarding same.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [900]. This we have had before. Ready for dreams.
3. (Q) Saturday Morning, Nov. 7, 1925, at home. "It seemed to be a Newark, N.J. branch office, (of J. P. Benhard & Co.) and I entered with someone and approaching the man in charge desired some stock service. He didn't think it worth while to give it to me. 'I can't promise more,' I said, 'But I know it will pay.' He didn't like the idea. 'But, I do know a lot of people here - and it'll pay even if the fee seems small to you.' He didn't turn against the idea, but didn't like it very well - argued against it, but finally consented. They showed me through the buildings and offices and I took in a general survey of their business. Coming back again to the main room, I saw Martin Goldsmith and recognizing him, called him by name and went over to speak to him. Then I saw Doctor Mantner and I did the same with him. Then I saw others of my old Newark acquaintances and was glad, for it showed this fellow I wasn't bluffing - I did know many people. He, on his hand, became very changed in attitude - very solicitous to me. 'You see,' I said, 'I told you I knew many people - could do much - but I rather not promise things and surprise, than promise and fall down on my word.'"
   (A) In this we find emblematical conditions presented to the entity as regarding the conditions as have been first and foremost in the mind regarding the policies of self and operations on the Stock Exchange taken into consideration, the policies as were followed by others with whom entity has been associated. This then the lesson as the entity has been given: As lessons have been given entity in the inmost body-mind regarding ways, manners, means, physically, to conduct business, and as same is weighed with that obtained by self and self's understanding, so conduct same that others will be pleased and self receive satisfaction from same, see? Would the entity but take into consideration those conditions as have been in the body-mind as regarding these, this will be easily seen. Profit thereby.
4. (Q) "The manager and I seemed to be going somewheres. We got off at a junction and saw two trolley cars - one operated by a workman and which ran over a good road bed for a ways - then on to a poor road bed. I noticed the road bed and how it suddenly changed from a good well built affair to a shallow, hollow built R.R. track. 'Its alright up to a certain place,' I remarked to my Newark stock friend, 'I wonder why it changes all of a sudden?' Then I saw the other trolley - a regular sort of car, properly operated, turn the corner and I saw the conductor get out to control the trolley pole on the over head electrical wire, as the car made the turn. We stood at the junction and watched. Then a lady came up and stepped on to a Ferry Boat, closed the gate, lifted the anchor and started the boat all by herself. 'O,' I remarked, 'If I had known she was going to get on that boat, and was all alone, I would have helped her.'"
   (A) This again an emblematical condition presented to the entity for the study, for those conditions as have been apparent in the body-mind of same, and this is to be taken in relation to that as given in the lesson as is to be learned from the experience in the office in Newark. As the two roads show a certain point conditions run in a goodly manner, in others these seem to be only shells. In another there is seen the necessity of that connection with the driving force as is given for the propelling of the lesson as is seen, or propelling force to drive that necessary to make the success for the running of the cars. The change to that of seeing the lady, or the body alone, taking up anchor, this representing as learning, see? and of knowledge necessary to gain that which would make the whole a complete well filled, well made road bed, a oneness with that as is seen with the trolley, where it is necessary for the junction to be made for the propelling of the force. As is recognized by entity, then, had the entity known those full laws as pertain to the action of the knowledge of the entity's, as is seen in the desire to know that of the lady's where-abouts, or going, then we would have found that action as would have been necessary to have made the full complete connection a oneness with the three circumstances; yea, the four lessons as may be gained by the entity from this, for as we see in following that reasoning as comes to the body consciousness, with that subconsciousness that gives the lessons, the knowledge, the understanding to the entity, see?
5. (Q) "A debate between my physical and subconscious as follows: SUBCONSCIOUS: 'All is set to sell just when the market turns.' PHYSICAL: 'Yes, but that is just it - it doesn't turn' - (must have been thinking of our previous short position in L & N - present short position in Corn Products). SUBCONSCIOUS: 'All will sell at the turn - all are just waiting to sell at that point.' PHYSICAL: (seeming exasperated that long stocks go down - short go up - just contrary to information gotten from this source) 'But it doesn't happen in fact' - (thinking of Corn Products) - 'It was to go down - it is going up." SUBCONSCIOUS: 'The Intent is there to sell - all set to jump at the turn of the market - 38 - or about there.'" (The following not read) 1. Now this seems to explain that as given by psychic force - [two] 2 effects may be seen in 2 causes at the same change - or what we call time. Suppose for example many had bought Southern R.R. with intent to cause the Spirit of this stock to be in phenomenized concept 121 1/2 or 122. Now, however, they change their intent to one of just ready to sell when the Spirit of the Whole market (prices) change to that concept which we call lower prices, then the change of Southern Ry. from 122 to a probable lower price? This correct? 2. Now let us take the next phase and we probably will shed another light on why it was necessary to suffer loss to learn. Take the case as just passed and given - L & N. Nothing like actual cases to learn by. As given, the Intent of those in control of the Spirit or Price number of L & N Stock set their intent, (their Will - phenomenized Spirit as pertains to concept of stock value) to let the stock slide quietly back to 119 or 117, even lower and there accumulate more. Thus we have the lower concept of the Spirit of L & N Stock or lower value of the stock. Now during this time or in these phenomenized changes, other phenomenized forces of mind were planning to buy the stock - no more intent to put it up than have we when we buy stock or sell for the given higher or lower price, as the case may be. This, then, is different from the Intent all finished and set of those in control - intending higher prices in the long run - lower for the present, because, as given, this intent is to purchase stock - acquire possession, a condition in the making of man's realm, and therefore may not be revealed through psychic forces, for it would be giving [900] & [137] the advantage over those buyers, or to put it differently, whether because of physical reasoning or from the set intent seen of others by the physical in cosmic consciousness, the concept and resultant action on the part of a phenomenized "Being" must bring its own phenomenized effects and we cannot have the advantage of the concept others are forming (plans to buy or sell a stock) until after the concept is carried out in fact - THEN may their intent, the forces they have set in motion in the cosmic consciousness be seen by one developed to point of seeing same. Is the light beginning to filter through? Is this correct? 3. Let us try and put it differently again, for the whole revelation of stock prices hang about this. Here is a moving picture machine and the management has decided to show picture "A" to-night. In another city I see in the cosmic consciousness this intent to show picture A at this theatre - I get on a conveyance to go to that place to see that picture A. In another city others get on a conveyance to go the same theatre, anticipating seeing picture "B." They desire to see picture "B" and intend seeing it at the theatre that is to show picture A. Upon reaching the theatre they find picture A condition and plan to persuade the management to switch or change the show to picture B. These plans in the making are not to be found or had by one seeking in the cosmic consciousness - they are changes in the realm of man's making - the forces set in motion are those set by those in control to show picture A. Now the second group may persuade the management to show picture B instead of A - then the change and may be seen by one capable of entering cosmic consciousness. The changed condition then becomes an actual intent - not plans in the making - may be seen. Is this illustration one of the truth? It makes it hard on the first party who has spent time and money to see picture A - but that is no fault of the moving picture machine that is the fixed machine, subject to the use of those having the power to use same, make of the machine. The moral then is that unless one has power to use the machine as desired, not to stake too much on the use others may make of it? Correct? 4. Conclusion then is that much in financial gain may be secured by one able to enter the spiritual consciousness, but he must remember, that while the contemplated intent may be seen as related to stock price for example, that all plans and conditions as related to the price movement of that stock may not be brought to the physical consciousness and caution and moderation and physical judgement are necessary even if spiritual sees stock going to a certain price? Correct? 5. Just how is this moral line of differentiation of that which the physical may - may not acquire from other consciousnesses drawn? Not WHY is it so drawn, that already given, but how in the other consciousness is it restructed from A information and given C & D information? What action bars it from the forming plans in peoples mind and opens up the information of that as set as intent in the same as other minds? 6. Now as related to the Stock Market, does this voice indicate a downward movement is at hand in stock prices? When will this break start? 7. When, then, should Southern R. R. stock now held be sold? Next week? 8. Does the price 38 - indicate Corn Products will or may rise to 38 but not higher - then decline to 32 or 33? as given, or does it indicate a changed condition in this stock and that [900] and [137] should buy it in? 9. Co-relate Pacific Gas & Electric with that given. When should that be sold? It is now down again.
   (A) This, as we see, the lessons, or the reasoning with the physical body-mind and with the subconscious forces, and is as the lessons as have been gained by the entity from same, see? and as the questions have been put here as concerning that correct and incorrect, we find the body-mind, the physical consciousness of the entity has reasoned correctly with each of these, and as is given in the questions as are asked in the end, pertaining to what should be the action of the entity as regarding these, we find as pertaining to the Corn Products, the sale or the down turn beginning at the 38, the rise in the Southern being to that of the 121 - 122, see? Then the sale, see? the gradual falling off then of L & N and again to the point, see, as given.
   Then, we find entity only needs to follow those reasonings as have been gained by this contact with the subconscious self to gain that knowledge necessary for the insight into those conditions, for as we see, as the spiritual intent and purpose is set in each individual case, see? when it becomes, then, as a Universal force, away from man's making, see? That is, in action and may be made by one man or another, then that as is set may be gained by a subconscious or a cosmic force, remembering that what makes cosmic forces and that which makes, or those elements entering into conscious, subconscious and cosmic forces and the Spirit Forces as the guiding factor, as has been shown and given the entity. Do that. Then we will find these will gradually come to the entity in that way and manner in which the Universal Forces, as are presented from time to time, gives the intent, the purpose, as set in each, whether pertaining to social relations, physical relations, stocks, bonds, or to physical health condition, see?
