This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of August, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - [900].

Present: Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Dr. T. B. House.

TEXT

1. GC: You will have before you the dreams this body had on the dates which I will give you. You will give the interpretation and lesson to be gained from each of these, as I read same to you, and you will answer the questions which I will ask you regarding same.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here. This we have had before, and he is not feeling extra good, you see. Kind of off color - something seems to have been worrying him. These will come out alright tomorrow though, or next day.
3. (Q) Night of July 15 or morning of 16th, 1926. "I was talking to someone who seemed an authority. 'If you had held your position on every stock tip you received, you would have made more than you lost,' said this man, who seemed short and stout. I tried to point out some losses that would have been necessitated. 'But you would have gained more than you lost,' he repeated insistently. I must needs agree and said: 'I suppose there will be something doing in the baking stocks.' 'Yes,' he answered, 'there will be something doing in this class of stock.' 'General Baking should do something,' (this seemed to include in others, such as Ward & Fleischman), I specified. 'General Baking (and others I assumed) will do something,' he replied, and turned to walk away.
   (A) In this there is seen that the entity carrying in the mental consciousness of same those conditions and lessons as have been presented to the entity from time to time, and in doing so takes stock, as it were, and this then presented to same in this emblematical form. As is seen in the end, this is as that certain stocks, representing those of baking and of such natures, are to be on the advance, as had been given in the tip as concerning same, and of which the entity should take advantage of, rather than being on the short, see?
4. (Q) Does this mean that the baking stocks, such as General, Ward, Fleischman, are a buy for an upward move?
   (A) At the time this was given, buy for an upward move, for they have taken their advance in some respects, see?
5. (Q) "Meyer Half, he was talking to me of Ben Block. 'You don't know him as I do. Someone wanted him to sell some $2.95 hosiery and he laughed at them and refused.'"
   (A) Again we see these two entities appear to the entity. These are presented to the entity in those conditions as have been presented, and this is, as it were, the FIRST of those elements going to make up that which is presented as an experience for an understanding of the entity, as respecting the associations with these two individuals and their actions toward same - toward [900], see? These, then, would be correlated (this condition) with that as has been presented as concerning these individuals. This is, then, for the mental development of the entity, rather than that in an emblematical form presenting any specific condition to be met with.
6. (Q) Voice: "You Old Dog, Wake up!" - and I did awaken late, having overslept.
   (A) This, as we see, to the individual entity, bringing into the consciousness of the entity that condition purely as of the subconscious projecting into the physical conscious, or body consciousness, in such a way and manner as to see the material ANSWER, as it were, of same, see? Then, the lesson as the entity may gain: Truly has it been said, "Thoughts are deeds. They may become miracles or crimes," and as the physical had so used itself (on this occasion as given, see?) to that extent as to cause that needed for the PHYSICAL refreshment of same, yet the mental body conscious, ever in action and on guard, through that of the subconscious forces calls to the entity, as it were, in action - wake up!
7. (Q) Night of July 14, or morning July 15. "[137] and [140] and Ma and I had sailed for Europe in two couples, in two pairs and on two different ships. Arriving I had Cherbourg in my mind, but it seemed London, England, we were in. I looked about with marked curiosity and intensity. Then we got into an elevator and waited. 'O,' I said, 'I forgot that in Europe, one operates these elevator lifts for themselves,' and so saying I pressed a button and immediately we started upward. How we did go up - I almost began to think we'd never stop, yet I could see the sides of buildings outside as we passed floor after floor. 'Where are we going,' I wondered, and then remembered that we desired to go to Paris. 'O, yes, we want the trains,' I remarked, 'I forgot that they are on the top floor in Europe.' Finally the upward moving elevator stopped and we got out. I noticed the ticket man stood back from the entrance, another change from our American custom. I looked for the train and there it was, far down the track. Then I presented our tickets to the ticket man. They were long affairs, and in two different colors, one of which was orange or red. I noticed this as I held them up before me.
   (A) As is seen in this, there is projected into the entity's vision those conditions which are, in two years, to come to pass in the entity's life, see? Then there is the lesson as is seen concerning the rest of this, in how the variation is seen in the action of conditions in the country, that representing the high advance of conditions in elevators, and in trains, so the entity may take advantage of same if he desires to do so, see?
8. (Q) What definite significance?
   (A) Could there be more?
9. (Q) July 28, 29 - night or morning. "We - my mother and I, seemed looking for a live and pretty kitten. It eluded us - then the change, for the cat appeared dead upon my mother's breast - close to her heart. She put her hand upon the animal to pull it off, when it suddenly sprang to life, and biting her - caused her great pain. She screamed as she pulled her finger out - the ugly cat tugging away."
   (A) In this there is seen that, as this animal and its nature, representing conditions in the lives of individuals that may be turned from prank or joke into that that becomes as the animal is presented - either as something dead and forgotten, or suddenly springing into life, turning then to rend the individual, and, as is seen and as has been given, the word of the mouth, the meditation of the heart, should ever be acceptable in His sight. Not that there should not be that of mirth, for the Lord God is that that is happiness, rather than that of sorrow, and the individual action toward each should, then, ever bring pleasure rather than raillery on any. This may apply to the individuals seen, see?
10. (Q) Voice: "I thought you would be master of (naming some small ocean liner).
    (A) (Interrupting) Anchorage.
11. (Q) (Continuing) but behold you rule the Leviathan. Why?"
    (A) In this there is presented to the entity that of a lesson in two directions, in this way and manner, for, as is seen, these are as emblematical conditions. This, then, should be put to the inmost thoughts of the entity, for oft and oft again will this Leviathan be presented to the entity as an emblematical condition of those conditions arising in the life as lived in the earth plane by this entity, in deed and in action. Then, as is seen, this is that lesson in this INDIVIDUAL one as should be gained: The entity, [900], striving to make self at that at-oneness with the forces as through consciousness of being in that position. In same there is seen, not that of the mediocre, or small individual - rather that as represented by the master of the master ships, that shall carry the message over to many, and in this there is seen, not that of the one to lord the position over those that are weak, but as the master OF that message, or of that ship, as seen - the SERVANT of all.
