This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of January, 1927, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [900].

TEXT

1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [900], of ... St., N.Y. City, and the dreams this body had on the dates which I will give you. You will give the interpretation and lesson to be gained from each of these, as I read same to you, and you will answer the questions which I will ask you regarding same.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [900]. This we have had here before. The dreams come to the entity through those channels as have been outlined. Ready for dreams.
3. (Q) Night of 12th, 13th or 14th of January, 1927. I had the caterer of our office prepare some rare and unusual food for me. It was not to be had for the usual menu, but it seemed special food that I could get. It was served in Ben Block's office as another special privilege. Someone asked Ben Block why such special privilege was tendered me and he replied: "O, I don't know. They seem to like him out there!" - meaning in the office outside.
   (A) In this emblematical way and manner there is presented to the mind of the entity that of the food for the mind, and for the development of the entity, as is being gained by the association of the entity with various individuals as are indicated in the office and the conditions surrounding same, and as is seen that these are being gained, and are in that way in which the entity may gain or assimilate same - there is also seen there is the opportunity given the entity to serve these out as food for the minds of those that surround the entity. Not in the way and manner as would cause any hard feelings or any undue attention, but in the way and manner as the assimilation of especially prepared foods for a body needing that character of food for its development, may the mind, the lessons, the truths gained be given to others, in the offices, in the way, in the channels, that these may bring to others that as is seen in favor shown the entity, as would be were such as is outlined in the vision accorded in truth, for in TRUTH the viands of life are as necessary for the mental development as of the epicurean's preparation for the physical body.
4. (Q) What is meant by special food for me?
   (A) That given.
5. (Q) Special privilege of eating with Ben Block in his private office?
   (A) As given.
6. (Q) I turned in bed and beheld before me a statue in marble. It appeared as standing right next to me or next to the bed right in the room. It was a headless statue, such as are represented in marble of the Greek God Zeus. As usual, I became frightened, but I felt reassured when I reasoned that the statue was but an image or reflection of those lights that I now beheld on the ceiling. "Only an image of those Lights," I reassured, but the statue remained and so did the Lights.
   (A) In this there is again, in the emblematical way and manner, presented through the subconscious forces and the experiences of the mental and body mind, and the subconscious mind of the entity, those conditions as are being gained by the entity through application of force as is seen and applied in a material world to those of spiritual elements - and, as is seen, the two elements are presented to the entity, and the subconscious forces of the entity reason with self that back of the statue there must be that which would form or produce same. Hence the lights. The lights and the statue remaining then as in fact or truth. So, as is seen in that of the mental image, and that as is produced in fact. To the various developments come the abilities to separate same. The headless figure presenting, then, that even though the force is misunderstood, yet these present in spirit those various forces, even as the statue as is seen presented to that mind of the force preparing same such as the mental image of individuals had attained through their conception of a force magnified in the physical or material world, and in the study, then, of art, sculpture, literature, song, prose, there may be seen the concept of the individual of that force taking place in the material world in a manifestation of the Creative Energies in this material plane. Study same well.
7. (Q) Morning of Jan. 17, 1927. First something about my writing and then the change to the following: I beheld [139] and sought to reason the cause of her death. I put myself into her shoes, so to speak, and reasoned what was going on inside of her head (I saw her lying sick with the hemorrhaging artery behind the eye) as going on inside of my own. I was suffering pain, when a sudden flush of blood filled the brain and caused relief of the pain and death. I reasoned: "Hysterical thinking caused that artery to break and thus forming the clot that caused paralysis and death!"
   (A) In this we find there the correlation of subconscious forces in the mental mind of the entity acted upon by the attunement of those spiritual forces giving the concept of the action of the writing and its effect upon individuals' minds, as pictured before the entity, in and through the entity assuming or taking that position wherein effects and causes and results in individual action may be seen, studied, felt, experienced by the entity, so that the entity gains the insight or the concept of that as takes place, through this emblematical way and manner, in the mind of individuals gaining an insight, or an active principle, or an active force, toward that which may bring to the mind those conditions that would set the mental forces of an individual free. That is, as is seen, the writings of the entity, the concept being explained - just so is the concept as is gained of the individual of a truth concerning a condition physical existent in the physical body of an individual who, having passed into the spiritual plane, leaves that same impression or that same action outside of the physical body in such a way and manner that the entity, through the spiritual forces of self, capable or able to enter therein and view self's own concept of a mind active in the way and manner as attempting to gain control of self in such a way and manner as to force or form the proper concept within the brain forces as to become active within the principles of the life giving flow of the physical body. Just so the entity, then, is to make those writings, those concepts, to the human mind in a way and manner that will bring to the mental mind of all individuals who would apply self in a study of same, that full life giving flow that brings HEALING, and not death, to the mental image or the mental abilities, or the mental body of such individuals - for more of these will be presented to the entity from time to time; for, as is seen, these are given through a way and through a channel, and as in a concept in which there appears to the entity much of the lessons of life to be gained through same.
8. (Q) Saw my mother [106] [See 106-11 Reports] and felt some foreboding that some such catastrophe might occur to her. Voice: "She thought she could be happy with you, particularly since [136] started being nice to her, but now she feels it better to return to her mother." Her mother is dead.
   (A) This foreboding as is seen, and the voice as is indicated through the conditions that are felt to the entity in the condition in which same are received - that is, the physical or the material mind subservient to the subconscious and the super-conscious, and the mental forces or images of the body that all are one - that there is to occur to this entity - to the mother, those conditions that will bring about that which would seem, or would be near to very detrimental in a physical sense and way. Then, being fore-armed, through being forewarned, be careful that in these fainting or these unconscious spells that may occur soon - SOON - to the entity, she is in a way in which they may be easily cared for, see? That is, do not allow her to be alone very often, see? Just when these would come about? When such conditions are in a way and manner of stopping the digestive system - of which there is some hindrance at present. Be well were some osteopathic adjustments taken, and some of a stimulant to the respiratory and heart system be taken, or keep near the body that as is seen in hartshorn [or ammonia-water] or in any element that is as a nerve stimulant, especially to heart and respiratory system. Or, there might be a combination taken to prevent this, in this form and manner made:

   Tincture Valerian........................2 ounces,
Elixir Calisaya..........................2 ounces,
10% solution Iodide of Potassium.......1/2 ounce,
10% solution Bromide of Potassium......1/4 ounce.

   With a carrier of Peptotol four (4) ounces - the dose being, with this shaken well together, half a teaspoonful three or four times each day.
