This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 14th day of March, 1927, in accordance with request made by self - [900].

TEXT

1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [900], of ... St., N.Y. City, and the dreams this body had on the dates which I will give you. You will give the interpretation and lesson to be gained from each of these, as I read them to you, and you will answer the questions which I ask you regarding same. You will also have before you the interpretation of dream of [900], on March 11, 1927, regarding the hobby horse and the warning about this in the home, and so forth. Please explain this to this body, telling him if it has any reference to the attitude of his stenographer, who has taken the work out several times.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [900]. This we have had here before, as also the information as we see, as given, as respecting the dream and the interpretation thereof. As is seen, the entity should understand this, as given, for this is as of a threefold nature, as given. That is, the hobby horse, as seen, represents first to the entity that which others term as the entity's hobby - the WORK in which the entity is engaged, see? and, as given, the hobby of any individual is the real individual. Hence worth while, and no matter would others call it only a hobby. As seen and carried in the second place, that the warning is that the hobby as made in the own home would prove as one beneficial to the entity in a financial way and manner, giving prestige and finance, when used aright, as has always been given. This does not refer to any individual, other than that - the making of such a material hobby horse, see, should be under the personal supervision of the entity - for aside from the spiritual lessons, aside from the mental lessons, MATERIALLY this hobby horse as seen might be brought into physical existence with these various motions as were seen in the vision, and such a one would in itself - ASIDE from these other lessons - prove beneficial in material ways and manners, but dangerous unless handled by the entity ITSELF, see?
   Now, as for that as the mind entertains as respecting individual, and the work - or the hobby, as the entity chooses to call, then - for self respecting same, well that this always be under the supervision of the entity itself, see? Not as questioning of others, but question not self as respecting others, see?
   Then use the threefold manner, as is seen, respecting this - for this would be worth while.
3. (Q) Sunday Morning, Feb. 27, 1927. We seemed on the inter-urban car from Wabash to Ft. Wayne. The road was familiar to me but I settled down to enjoy the trip. We narrowly missed a car coming the other way at a switch junction. Then the change to a ferry boat dock where my father was with me, returned to earth in flesh form. I was certainly glad to have him back with me. Then Alfred Rosner came up to us and my father talked with him. "Why certainly," said Al in his suave manner, "The boys ([137] and I) could do very well if they would but apply themselves." My father agreed, and asked how Woolworth stock was selling. Al, expecting a big order, was eager to serve him and got the quotation, which was offered at 182 - 184 - 186. "Now you see," said my father, "that 182 - 184 -186 shows that they are undecided about it." My father was thinking, and finally said: "Now you see what other offices think of Woolworth stock and how they offer it." "That will not be disclosed," I told my father. "We cannot find out what others that are not open on the book are going to do with the stock - we only know what is on the book." Al Rosner, wanting a big order, went to try and dig up some information that I knew he couldn't get. He knew what his office was doing, but not others - i.e. the inside of what was going on. Also I knew that he was playing for a big expected order from my father, but that my father was a conservative small man and would only buy what he could pay for outright and put away - i.e. about 10 shares at a time and then only after mature thought and consideration. He didn't care what Al Rosner or anyone else thought of it or of their opinion of his smallness. I saw the sneers and embarrassment that would come when Al, AFTER INVESTIGATION, got a 10 share order, and I urged my father to come on. He did so, and we got on the boat.
   (A) Again we see, with the various variations as are shown in the places, positions, conditions, and those as are felt in the inmost thoughts of the entity, those same conditions as have been given as respecting this particular stock. Viewing same, each of the expressions of the entity's feelings as of viewing the conditions of others is as that felt from within the entity itself, on account of the position in which the entity finds self. The action and lessons as respecting these conditions have been given the entity. Follow those - for, as seen, the same variations in two's - two's - two's, show that same condition as has been presented before to the entity, and shows that variation as has been outlined for the body. Follow those.
4. (Q) Does this specifically mean that we should trade in market only on the book ([137]'s), where we have at least an even chance of protection and even then not too heavy?
   (A) In the way and manner as is seen and felt. Keep self in that protected manner, but be not in that way of being afraid of censure, see?
5. (Q) To otherwise buy what we can pay for little by little and build up necessary reserve in that manner?
   (A) In that manner, follow the ways as have been shown the entity, see? for, as is seen, from the place, there is seen the entity recognizes the surroundings of the entity, and the dangers that lie ahead in the change of the activities from one manner of acting to another; yet, with the change, there is seen that stabilizing influence of the directing force in father, and that as is brought to the entity as confidence and faith in the abilities of same. Also there is seen that as represented in the actions, in the words, in the manners, of that one who represents another or opposite side of the conditions, and then the weighing of the two to-gether gives to the entity - with that as has already been outlined for the entity - the manner in which same should be acted upon. Do that.
6. (Q) What does Woolworth 182 - 184 - 186 mean - i.e. that it might be worth a chance to buy a SMALL quantity of Woolworth at present prices for 182 price?
   (A) Means just that as has already been given as respecting same. Not only in this, but that as has gone before.
7. (Q) On the boat I was reading the papers and turning to my father, asked: "What did you see in that other world? What were your experiences in that life?" "Well," he replied, "Now that I'm in the flesh again it is hard for me to remember, to put it in words." He looked dreamily and sadly in front of him. He seemed worried about me too - very worried. "One thing I do remember. I didn't see money or a coin, nor a thermometer about the weather's coldness or hotness."
   (A) In this there is given to the entity another view of that condition in which the soul mind dwells. That the SPIRITUAL is separated from the sensuous minded conditions of the material and mental and physical body, see? Food for thought in these! Study these, and compare this presentation to that as was given by Sun.
8. (Q) Meaning just what as regards my life?
   (A) That, that as has been given should be applied in that way and manner that spiritual forces are NOT overlapped with material forces, nor judge one by another - yet each are of the other, as are those elements necessary to the well being of an entity; for, as is seen, that as is seen by the entity, that in the vision the entity has recognized the necessity and the manner in which the father, or the director, or the protector, wages, as it were, concerning material gains; yet in thought the first memory is, that, in the spiritual world there is no coin, and that is not the exchange of that realm, see?
9. (Q) Is my father worried about me.
   (A) About the understanding only. Not worried about the entity, else there would not be the guiding and direction as is seen, see? for, as has been given, "Seek the Lord and ye shall find Him." When He is put BEHIND the evil, see? or, as is given, if the devil presents conditions, put the devil behind me, see? Now, as has been given again, the conditions of the attitude of an entity attracts or detracts, see? Rather the worry of the combining spiritual and material forces. Though they ARE ONE OF ANOTHER, don't govern one by the other! for they are as a whole, see?
10. (Q) How may I permit him to help me and also to help myself?
    (A) In following out those injunctions, those directions, those ways and manners as he outlines, and as has been outlined for the entity.
11. (Q) Does this portend trouble, as is more indicated in the next? "Still the summer time and we were on a mountain top. My father seemed to note well that we ([137] and I) had my mother's money in our business and worried about it. I thought maybe that he would be happier about us, but he was more sad and worried in appearance at least. Then he engaged me in quiet conversation. "[900]," he said, "You have 3 choices of businesses to go into. I will bring you the opportunity to go into the pipe manufacturing business. Your partner will be an elderly man who has already a good business. You may, however, if you choose, remain in your present business." "If I go into the pipe business," I replied, "I want to learn it thoroughly in every detail from the ground up." "They will never lick you if you follow in that way, [900]." I had the impression over speculation was also indicated. "If you do it that way, [900], you can't fail. No one can make you fail."
    (A) Only in the manner that the sorrow as brought from the entity using that influence from the outside, as is indicated in the manner in which the force gives to the entity that that the entity - KNOWING the condition and FOLLOWING same in the proper way and manner - CANNOT be licked, or moved, or overcome, but in the right way and manner carry forward those conditions as necessary for the full development of the body in the material, and the mental, and the spiritual world, see? Not a foreboding of trouble. Rather as, on the mountain top, the entity gains the full height, or the full concept, of the manner and way in which the entity may and must act, would the entity gain the full understanding and the returns from same. Not crossed up. Not worry. Not trouble, but a gain to the entity - for, in the way of the Master, ever when the great work was in hand, ever was it said, in sorrow he turned about, or the man of sorrow and acquainted with grief - yet at his call were the powers of the Universe, in that the entity understood the application of material, spiritual, and mental, in their proper place and sphere, making them one with another. See?
12. (Q) What is meant by pipe business?
    (A) Only as the reference to those conditions in the life of the entity in which is seen the various elements as represented as pipe - that is, the slang expression as is understood by the entity as "piped" certain conditions and elements, see?
13. (Q) What application is here intended or advised that I should make?
    (A) That as given.
14. (Q) Voice: "Moe Wallack says that the market is now at its 1917 high point."
    (A) We don't get any connection here.
15. (Q) Voice: "Break in Wilson Stock caused move in Fleischman stock to be checked." Then [137] in bed sick said: "We will be given many things (stocks) to buy or sell. Why hang on to Fleischman's stock."
    (A) In this there is seen again, as has been given, that from time to time these conditions are presented to the entity in these various forms, and - as the entity sees same - apply same in the way and manner as is understood by the entity, in the application of such information as given. Use same, then, just as given, see? for this is as but the inmost self giving to the conscious sensuous mind the activities in which the entity should indulge.
16. (Q) Meaning just what in relation to Fleischman? Is move up all over?
    (A) Only that the change as is seen and caused and reasoned is as apparent, and that there will be the various conditions and elements of change as will be seen. The activities in same over at the present, yet to each - and from time to time - there will be given that in that manner and way as the entity is to act towards same, see?
17. (Q) Had I then better advise all who hold to sell now, or will it after a little reaction resume its upward movement?
    (A) There will be given to the entity that way and manner in which the entity is to act towards same, see? Not taken from the individual here, but as from within self, see?
18. (Q) Again the impressions of many minds in conference, exactly as on the night previous. They seemed to be those in the 4th dimensional plane of consciousness interested in the humanitarian work, educational and otherwise, that I am trying to do. I had the impression of them about a long table, altho I did not see the table. A new mind seemed to seek admission to the group. It was the Woodrow Wilson mind. "Let me join in this group," he said. "It is about me anyway."
    (A) Again those forces in the inmost forces of the entity showing how that, about that which the soul forces of the entity builds there is gathered that element of assistance from the minds and purposes of all that would seek in the way and manner to do that undertaken by the entity. Hence confidence and help and aid is added as the entity develops, and as each gains that same concept of purpose; for little by little, line upon line, are these added to the entity's understanding and development. More of these later. We are through for the present.
