This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of April, 1927, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [900].

TEXT

1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [900], of ... St., N.Y. City, and the dreams this body had on the dates which I will give you. You will give the interpretation and lesson to be gained from each of these, as I read them to you, and you will answer the questions I will ask you regarding same.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [900]. This we have had here before. The dreams come, as we see, through those channels such as has been outlined for the entity. Ready for dreams.
3. (Q) Thursday Morning, April 14, 1927. A great giant entered the door and I threw an iron poker at him. This I repeated several times, seeking a vulnerable spot, when the poker caught his clothing and I could not extract it. The giant advanced towards me and threatened to punch me with his fist. He said he could blacken my eyes. He came very near to me - very, very near - about on top of me. I was afraid, yet something INSIDE of me was not afraid. It looked bad for me, when a small girl announced a baby and that seemed to check the giant. He withdrew and I felt relieved. I think it was a baby that was announced - something was that stopped him.
   (A) In this there is seen emblematically those conditions as present themselves in the ridicule that may be inflicted upon the entity for those ideals and ideas as being advanced by the entity, in the study of those conditions in respect to man's relationship with the Creative Energy, and the pressure is as the giant, and the entity finds that in the voice of the young, or the child, is as the greater field, or that which will stop such conditions, see?
   In the study, then, of the same, the entity finds that the simpler the truths, the simpler the understandableness of those tenets and lessons presented, the more undoing does the efforts become to that great power of ridicule or resistance that may be expected by the entity, see?
4. (Q) What conditions does giant represent?
   (A) The ridicule, or the censure from those of the peoples that do not agree with the entity, see?
5. (Q) What is the matter with me, anyway?
   (A) No matter, save that the entity must understand that the simpler the activities of the lessons given the more vulnerable they become.
6. (Q) Given my present conditions as they are - what can I do that I am not doing to better apply myself?
   (A) These we have no fault with, for again and again is the entity finding that the greater influence in the life is the more direct contact with that spiritual effort and essence that gives life, light, strength, and all to mankind, see? This, as is seen, is rather, then, that the entity may be forearmed, forewarned, and prepared to meet that which may be brought to bear upon the entity.
7. (Q) I was having a sword duel with [136]. She struck me on the head, splitting it open. The Voice: "REMEMBER LAST OCTOBER."
   (A) In this, again, we find the emblematical conditions presented to the entity in this, and the lesson as is seen, and to be gained by the entity, is that occurrence in October when there were words as concerning the ways, the manner in which the entity spoke or presented certain conditions of that taught, or as held tenable by the entity, and as will be seen in the present, this a continuation of that presented to the giant, see?
8. (Q) What to beware of?
   (A) Too many words.
9. (Q) I saw a store clerk in relation to woolen stockings - seemingly golf stockings. It pertained to Woolworth, the Voice or my interviewer told me.
   (A) This, then, represents to the entity that activity as is to be seen in this particular stock in that special season, and is seen in this coming month, see?
10. (Q) What does this mean in relation to Woolworth?
    (A) That activity as is to be seen in same, see?
11. (Q) It was, as given, to go up to 180 - will it still advance as given before the May break?
    (A) Still in advance, see? and especially in the beginning of the golf season, see? May - first weeks.
12. (Q) My interviewer: "General Electric Stock." But my attitude of mind was such as to incline to stick to Chrysler and this my interviewer answered as follows: "There has been some mighty good buying of General Electric by J. S. Bache."
    (A) This still that as is seen by the entity of the good buy in the Chrysler, for in this there will come that advance as yet as has been seen and given, see?
13. (Q) What is meant by this as regards General Electric, for its getting near to May break to buy stocks now?
    (A) Rather that the General Electric will be one that will change, and hold and change, in the May break, as seen, as yet, see?
14. (Q) That I had this May break in mind was noted by my interviewer who said regarding it: He gave me some explanation of conditions in the market that I now cannot recall, concluding as follows: "Therefore the flop to come in May."
    (A) This explanation as was given is as this, as will be recalled by the entity in the reading of same, and as will be presented in the voice and vision again in the near future - in this manner was this given: The general trend of the conditions as are presented are reaching that point where the inflation is taking place, and the season is fast approaching when the speculation for the various ones that use these figures as the change for the various quarters and places, meaning that the speculative interests are now in that condition where the general break or flop, is to occur, UNLESS there be other conditions arising from unseen sources at present, see?
15. (Q) My interviewer: "Young man, you should not take that sad view of life."
    (A) Meaning that those conditions in the life that seem hard may be turned into the broader, better vision, by seeing from the other side, see?
16. (Q) To make me understand it better, just what example or when did I display it and regarding what?
    (A) The inability of the entity in self to gain that full cooperation of those that are in the flesh near and dear to the entity, yet when this is viewed from the other side, see in self that satisfaction and condition brought to same, see? for remember, ever was the injunction "Be of good cheer."
17. (Q) Voice: "Number 6." (seemed in reference to Woolworth)
    (A) Six, then, that as has been given in the double strength of three, with that security above that of five, carrying the strength and the weakness, see? for, as is seen in numbers, again in the study of same we find, when an individual stock reaches certain points they are as the pivot points, see? and when one goes above one wherein five's are presented, then these are sure to advance to the next ten's, see? As is seen with six, then, when this has reached the higher point, is assured, see?
18. (Q) Thinking this meant Chrysler down to 42, as I was reading the reading sent me at the time, I phoned [137] to floor to sell some Chrysler and buy it back cheaper. The message was delivered to [137], but lo and behold he understood it to be Fleischman, of which he had just bought 1000 shares. It influenced him to sell the Fleishman and of course not sell Chrysler, and after that Fleishman went down and Chrysler up. Thus in spite of his purchase, and my advice, both of which were wrong, (in light of subsequent market activity), we did the right thing and profited. Was this event, that happened April 14, 1927, a pure accident, or otherwise influenced?
    (A) The combination of those influences in the action of the concerted force of each, see? Now, we get this so that the entity may understand same as it is meant to be: When the entity receives such information, action is taken, see? When the information is received by one to whom the entity should give, and who should act on same, it (the entity) acts too, and the action brings that error in both to success, for both choose to act without stopping to hem, haw, or draw lines or conclusions - for, as has been given, when one knows to do and DOES, even though it may be in error, the action brings about the activities of it, itself, that which brings the better conditions for each, see? Not an accident. Purely the activity of forces which may be gained by each, and, as has often been given to that one [137] to whom such information was transmitted, to act within self is that of the highest action from the subliminal forces, see?
19. (Q) Night of April 14, or morning of 15, 1927. I saw Fleischman at 51.
    (A) Five, one - six. Again we find this showing that indication of those numbers in which the general decrease is seen coming, yet with that strength of the mighty.
