(Q) Night of May 6th or morning of 7th, 1927. My father
in the room with me with many people, principally those of
my wife's and my own family. There was also my emotion of
satisfaction about what people were thinking of me and mine.
Someone asked how much money [father] left to [
136] and
following the plan I said about $80,000. Carl Metzgar
looked skeptical and in an unpleasant manner so often
distasteful to me in this man. Then the change and my
father seemed looking at me in a queer fashion. I noted
flames leaping from the fireplace, and the burning candle
lights.
(A) In this there is presented those conditions through
which the mental abilities and faculties of the entity has
passed, and is passing, as regards relations as are seen,
and in this emblematical way and manner there is presented
to the entity those conditions as will take place as
respecting same. Then, would the entity gain that concept
of the satisfaction as will be attained through carrying out
those mental forces, or determined in the mind of the entity,
ACT in that way, even though these bring those glances as are
as derisive, as two-edged sword to the entity, from looks, or
from comments from others; for the entity finds that there is
already determined in the mind that attitude that the entity,
the body, will and does assume toward these conditions, and
these relatives and relations, and the entity should then act
in that way; yet ever remembering that there is to be
understood that as of old - rather than an eye for an eye,
if thine brother force thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
If thine enemy smite thee on the right cheek, turn the left
also; for the eyes of Him who guides, and who is the Giver of
all good and perfect gifts, are upon thee, and in singleness
of purpose and heart keep thine ways clean, that thy good may
not be evil spoken of.
(Q) If I don't want to be known as presenting any false
mercenary face, why allow such a condition - or allow myself
to be drawn into such?
(A) Just as given. Follow that as has been outlined for
the entity.
(Q) Night of May 7 or morning of May 8, 1927. [
137] and
I were on our way to Brooklyn to see may father's relatives
living there, but wanted to stop at a certain drug store in
a certain location on our way out. We got lost. It was dark
night. We were frightened away from one street by an ugly
looking individual. Then we came to a pavilion of many
people, one a cripple. [
137] started to talk to him and
continued to do so as I impatiently sought out the store and
our bearings. The neighborhood was tough and dangerous and
many threatening people lurked about. I couldn't find anyone
to ask. Finally I saw the store but it was blocked by an
ugly individual. I was frightened. I had impression things
came out alright.
(A) There is presented again the warnings to the entity as
respecting the relations of self as regarding drugs, and, as
is seen, there should be within the entity's self that which
would enable the mental forces of the entity to build in the
physical forces that necessary for the resistance of the
conditions as present the ills to the physical forces of
the body; but, as is seen, there comes the periods when it
becomes necessary that the counsel or the aid of such is
necessary, and even though they (the elements) present
menacing conditions to the body mind, and many varying forces
are eminent in the abilities of the entity to understand the
physical relations of such conditions to a physical being,
yet in the end - though through darkened forces and menacing
conditions - there comes the greater light; for, as the
entity sees, the development is a gradual thing, and must
not be hampered, nor must it be allowed to become too great
a portion of the inmost self.
(Q) Then a change to a stairway of a school and important
looking individuals came down the stairs with Lauer and
Wormser. I put a paper up in front of me, or sort of half
way up, but they passed me by unnoticed. They seemed to be
investigating something that involved one of great
importance. As they filed out Eddie Rosner remained behind
talking to someone. Turning to me, he said: "[
900], can you
account for the persistent existence of cheap money in light
of international affairs?" I could not (nor do I
understand). "Can you account for this persistent and
continuous rise in stock prices?" He then asked. "O, that
I can account for," I replied. "It is the momentum carrying
on of the upward movement. When that momentum dissipates
there will be the drop fast enough." I then proceeded up
stairs.
(A) Again in the change there is indicated, in this
emblematical manner, that growth as is given that is
necessary for the whole conception of how all force is
applied in the body, and as the individual action, and as
the individuals as seen represents the various phases of
conditions as attained in the consciousness of the
individual towards the relations of life and of material
things, just so the MENTAL proclivities of the entity
represent the various stages of the development of entity
towards the understanding of the laws as regarding life
here, life hereafter. The purpose, the intent, the
development, the relations of the various phases of material
conditions, are visioned. Then the mental development of
the entity visions same in this same manner. These, then,
are as patterns, and as lessons, that the entity may climb
on upward, even as is seen in the end, the entity mounting
the heights upward.
(Q) Is it yet safe to hold stocks?
(A) The vision as seen relates not to stocks. In stocks,
beware! for there is the season of unrest imminent.
(Q) Night of May 5 or morning of May 6, 1927. My
interviewer: "She," (meaning [
136]) "does not realize the
forces we have to use here." I had impression of using
certain internal forces and of being aided therein by some.
(A) In this there is the consciousness of those forces as
are manifested to the entity in the study of those conditions
pertaining to understanding, and in this manner as seen the
entity gains that persistent conscious feeling of the
presence of forces from without itself, or of force acting
with that from within to manifest and show the action of
other influences than from within UPON that within upon
others.
(Q) A direct conversation between myself and interviewer,
such as I read about in "Light," between Sir Oliver Lodge and
his son Raymond, except that I spoke from the subconscious
(in sleep) and was answered from the cosmic viewpoint.
I asked: "Is there an individual personality built up in
the etheric manifesting body?" (While all is one yet these
I contact in subconscious, as given by my father, are
nevertheless very real, and definite individual personalities
- not lost vagaries floating about in an unknown somewheres -
maybe. We cosmically retain a very pronounced and definite
"I AM" - that is what I meant - definite enough to speak to
an earthly being and addressing him still as "Father" -
as Raymond does Lodge for example. This is what I had and
still have in mind.) My interviewer: "Yes, individual
personalities are built up and so function here. It is the
operation of the MIND - of the operative forces." I never
want to ask who is speaking, yet I have the desire to know
and this time it was granted, as it was, no doubt, in line
with the lesson being given. So my interviewer continued:
"Your informant is the individual's mother."
(A) These are presented just in line with those things as
are being studied, and as are given to the entity, and as the
entity understands, this answers from within self TO that as
is seen, and as is given from the first, the more and more
that the do, do, do, is manifested, the more and more does
the concept of that taking place come to the entity, or of
the consciousness of the existence of the personality, and
the individuality, or of the soul forces, and of cosmic
forces, and the operating of each from their own plane, see?
(Q) I assume that by individual, [
136] was meant or myself
and the mother that cosmic personality, that includes within
its knowledge, the experience of motherhood (while on earth)
to [
136] and to myself and which as such was called [
139].
The latter from the cosmic plane is and was applying this
inclusive knowledge to demonstrate to me after death
conditions. This, this kind spirit of good, so active and
so eager to serve, has done often for both of us, as it said
it desired to do previously - i.e. "To [
136] I come to show
the life after death and the desire of the mother - "
Correct?
(A) Correct.
(Q) Now this is a very important lesson and no little tail
hangs thereto. If NOT ONLY the spirit of the mother love and
self knowledge after death, but also the definite and precise
knowledge of material application of this spirit of love or
self in materialized form as a mother to a son or daughter,
then an individual personality must be carried on into the
cosmic self that bears a direct relationship to its own past
history and retains that relationship in whatever form it
itself has created. If this is true, spirit communication
is as reasonable, fearable [feasible?], and true as any
communication, depending only upon self understanding to
afford sending and receiving of same.
(A) (Interrupting) And we would add here, "In application
of same." Proceed.
(Q) (Continuing) and understanding of each other (of
communicants), to understand that sent by the other and self
received. The mind receiving must understand what the mind
doing the sending means to convey, whether the latter sends
its message in the form of moving objects, noises, sounds,
flashes, words, sentences, or verbal or symbolical
communication. Correct?
(A) Correct.
(Q) I am in knowledge that which earthly experiences in all
incarnations has made me aware of being. I am also what
other experiences in other planes than earth have made me
become aware of being. I am that which does the experiencing
in each plane. I am also that which furnishes the
experiences (in substance) and know myself to be that
because experiences in every phase of that has taught me so.
Thus I am the operative force of creation in my application
and I am that operated upon substance and I know myself to be
the substance and functioning process both due to the element
in my etheric substance that has grown and stored knowledge
while developing in and as part of this functioning process.
This element is called consciousness (mind). The process is
called creation (forces). The substance is called etheric,
vital force, etc., etc. I am THAT. Correct?
(A) Correct.
(Q) Now all very well and so far so good. Now here is the
question not only I but the whole world (of those interested)
asks, asks, asks: Now comes the one mass of power to be
operative in one element and operated upon in another?
Or, to forestall, it is because it is, what in this force
differentiates and divides the operative or controlling
element from that operated upon?
(A) Correct, and the more perfect understanding is gained
in that full concept of that the Creative Energy is the
Creative Force as is that creating with that of itself
in self.
