Dear Mr. [
900]
I wrote you last week regarding the financing of the
hospital, and, of course, I know it will require a little
time to see several of the trustees, but I would suggest
that you do what you can without delay while the loan is
fresh in the minds of the loan companies.
Last August I applied for $30,000 insurance on the life of
Mr. Cayce, naming the Association the beneficiary. It was
only after two months work that I could get the Provident
Mutual of Philadelphia to issue the policy. I have held
the policy for some time, hoping the treasury would build
up. I have just been informed by the company to either
return the policy or remit and in the event I return the
policy marked "undelivered" it will be difficult for
Mr. Cayce to obtain insurance under the circumstances.
I assured the parties that we interviewed about the load
that there was $30,000 on his life. This is a good talking
point for a loan on a specialized building.
The amount of premium is $316.80, and I understood from
Miss Davis that Mr. Cayce was in Chicago, so I am writing
direct to you. If you wish to take car of this, please make
a check to C. H. Furr, Agent, and mail to me at Virginia
Beach.
With best regards, I beg to remain
Yours very truly, F. A. Van Patten
