Dear Edgar:-
As per my letter yesterday, enclosed please find our check in
the amount of $3300. This, together with the $1110.10 sent
yesterday, makes a total of $4410.10 sent to you for payment
of Association bills which, together with [
195]'s $600.00,
makes $5000.00. [
137] says you have something around
$1000.00 in the various accounts, which would just about see
you through the month, provided no additional bills are made.
For this reason and on advice from [
137], we both thought it
best to make no new obligations at this time, due to the bad
market conditions we are now experiencing and the resultant
necessary falling off in business. This, however, does not
mean that all necessary things should be delayed, for, of
course, the water supply must be remedied and a new well dug
and this, together with other necessary things, we will have
to take care of and will do. We meant that those things not
absolutely necessary to be done at this time could be done or
started next month when conditions may become better for us,
making it easier for us to do them.
I received reports this morning and they are even more
interesting when read or that one that I heard is, than when
listened to it. Before [
137] even read the one in which so
to speak I was more or less bawled out, he seemed to sense or
they seemed to cause him to sense, that which was meant and
the upshot of it was that [
137] remarked, "if you will
permit, and they can do what they say the can, in the manner
of making you able to demonstrate your theories, then the
intellectual class in the university must recognize same to
the extent that will be gratification and mean much happiness
to you, for it will bring you recognition in a material sort
of way that comes from organizations rather than as it does
now from some individual like [
202], for example, who gained
some understanding and compliments you, but can do nothing
about it to cause recognition and thus bring the kind of
advertisement we want. Through this means you may occupy a
chair in the University you seek to create rather than after
the creation of same be more or less of a theoretical
outsider. If there is indicated aggravation on the part of
those on the other side, it is that you or your attitude is
such that you create obstacles in the way of you, yourself,
realizing the heighth [height?] of your own ability, which
same evolved potential ability, may take others one, two or
more incarnations to realize. That is what [
137] got out of
it and he finished by saying, "so long as you cannot
demonstrate in physical terms your theories, the other
fellows' theories will command as much attention and be
considered just as valid as your own, even though you are
backed by the readings that you know (but the other fellow
does not know), give the truth. Every man cannot get a
reading; every man cannot enter the hospital, but thousands
may learn of your theory of oneness and its individual
relationship to each one of us if you can demonstrate that
that theory means something in the physical life of each
individual. He seems to have hit the mark, for since being
home I have more or less experimented and found I could at
will almost bring into direct communication many of the
individuals who have and many who have not, spoken through
your reports. Paul, for example, was one with whom I was
able to establish a communication, when I sought Him & he
gave me His name in the communication.
I heard an individual I believe was Morgan Robertson say OF
me, "he is resentful" and then say TO me, "alright, if you
want to preach a lot of unworkable theories, then let loose,"
meaning about what Gary once said in a like manner, so you
see at least I am getting one principle and that is the
ability to call the other side through proper application,
to do that which those on the other side want to be done,
into communication. That is, there is some law here that
each and every one may apply and it is some direct
relationship to the law of relativity of force and means
that each may, through a certain means, establish for
himself a certain specific and definite relationship either
to the world or to the other worlds, gaining and
establishing through certain communications and bringing
into play, through certain of the universal forces
communication & information that may be materially applied
and demonstrated. I am going to work further on this and
believe as experience grows I will eventually be able to
reach a conclusion regarding the application of the law of
the relativity of force in relation to the individual and
the individual's experience. If one mentally can bring his
consciousness into the equilibrium brought in our machine,
the results will be the same - see?
I have an inkling that this is an emanation that comes from
that Board augmented by Paul. As the law of relativity of
force is demonstrated in the working of our machine so it may
be demonstrated and used in the working of our own
experience. The formation of that law will be made for the
intellectual world when I so learn to apply it that I can, at
will, in specific mathematical terms demonstrate it in a
material way and manner.
Regarding the apple and the seed, I have asked many, many,
including [
137] and others, and they answered as I did, yet I
sought even a materialized verification of the answer and you
will be surprised to know that I got it. Things are
beginning to come easier when I look for them. I find,
through research, that in South America there was discovered
an orange grove composed of seedless oranges that no
individual ever planted and that is a totally uninhabited
region. No one knows how the oranges grew, or least of all
how seedless oranges grew when Burbank first discovered the
method of planting certain seed combination to produce same.
Nature had beat him to it. A seedless orange had already
grown, though no human hand had ever first prepared the
seed, which is, of course, a direct answer to Burbank or to
the Burbank theory. Such then is a materialized
demonstration of the fact, that the seed come from the
already produced apple, although to the physical kind even
of the scientists, it seemed there could be no apple if
first there were no seed.
Nothing else new for the present, but hope I can realize a
little of that which is held out for me.
I don't know what I shall be able to make of my class in
Virginia Beach. I hope something worth while, but all the
joy isn't out of life for this phase of my life at that, for
a few here in New York have asked me to go over Tertium
Organum with them and explain it to them so without any
official organization a little class here may be started.
My best regards to your family and thanking you for you kind
attention, I remain, with kindest personal regards to you in
which [
137] joins me,
Very sincerely yours, [

Dear Edgar:-
In accordance with Van Patten's letter to me, a duplicate of
which I enclose herein, I am sending to you two checks made
out to the Association of national Investigators, one for
$1000.00 that is due immediately and the other for $550.00
that is due on or before April 3rd. Will you kindly pay him
the $1000.00 now and the $550.00 when it is due, for our
lots.
A I understand it, we now have the entire block. Does this
also include Lee & Hunt's lots? I would advise that you
close with Lee & Hunt as soon as you can on the basis of
$1000.00 for one lot and the other lot given to us. This
would finish the whole block and also with what we have on
the next block give us an inroad into that one.
Would advise that you also instruct Van Patten to continue to
try to get lot 6 in block 12 for our price of $750.00 on our
terms, and to take same when he can get it. We will
eventually use this second plot to put up the cottages we
spoke about, keeping the lots in block 14 for further
expansion purposes and to create a place of beauty in the
form of a park. This, I think, is in line with our program,
- do you not think so?
I would also advise that you continue to make whatever
necessary improvements must be made either in the hospital
building itself or on the ground.
I am working hard on my lectures and also have returned to
study of anatomy, which, together with the business and the
necessary recreation in between, keeps me fully occupied. Of
late I have been fully warned to get the necessary rest and
recreation or the whole purpose will be defeated. At first I
paid little attention but when my face began to swell again
and the old trouble started to come back, I decided to heed
so devoted this entire week-end to play.
Am sorry I neglected Edgar Evans' Stamp Album, but hope the
delay did not disappoint him too greatly.
Nothing further new at this time, or if there is in the way
of my ever growing experiences, will save them for another
time.
Trust you, your family and the Houses' are well. Take my
kindest regards to yourself and all, in which [
137], [
136]
and [
140] join me.
Very sincerely yours, [
