5/16/35 HLC's letter to [

Mr. [

New York City
Dear Mr. [
914]
My father turned your letter of May 11, over to me. I have
your reading before me and will take up your questions in
order as presented.
First, "the experiences come under some unusual necessities
of self's application." This reference has to do with
certain prenatal conditions. According to the Life Readings
the soul is drawn to or chooses to enter the earth plane
because of certain related influences that exist between the
parents and the entity. Such relations may be based on past
incarnations where there has been some association or may
have to do with the development of the entity as it fits into
the environ created by the physical and mental activity of
the parents. The expression quoted above refers back to a
phrase in the first part of the same paragraph, "Some
questionings" as to the entrance. This had to do either with
the mental attitude of the parents regarding the birth, or
relates to the mental attitude of the soul entity considering
birth. The result was that you were born at a time not
entirely in keeping with your previous development with the
effect that you have inner urges and outer influences that at
times work at cross purposes making it necessary that you
apply your will very diligently in order to keep and even
keel. The resulting life would not be easy, but has
doubtless been most interesting, if complex situations and
peculiar circumstances make a life interesting.
Second, "Those things that pertain more to the dramatic ...
have the greater calling." Here we will have to consider
also the remarks preceding and following this sentence. We
will also have to make reference to one of the appearances in
which you evidently did some work in actual showmanship. The
paragraph quoted above need not be considered as a definite
reference to any interest in drama now from the standpoint of
professional interest, or even from a personal angle from the
viewpoint of enjoyment of plays, etc. The urges which a soul
brings over with it from past incarnations and from other
planes of development find expression in most subtle forms.
In simpler language this says that you find an inner
satisfaction in things that have to do with mystery and
suspense, that you find a pleasure in delving into those
things that seem to be covered up and hidden. Such an urge
would find expression of enjoyment in the seeking rather
than in the thing sought. Specific reference is made to
penal law and conditions related to the law that require
uncovering. Very definitely the reading indicates that in
this field you will find the greatest success as a result of
the existing opportunities for the expression of your
talents and abilities. Such an individual as yourself
should have a fine sense of the relative points of highest
interest and proper display of evidence.
Third, "But rarely will the entity find that it does not
bring consternation when there is the attempt for the how's
of that attained to be given to others." This refers to the
use of your psychic faculties in working out any particular
problem or in analyzing complex situations. You evidently
reach your conclusions as a result of impressions, flashes or
intuitive experiences that may be so much a part of your
activity that you do not recognize your results as anything
out of the ordinary, yet if and when you attempt to explain
just how you reached some of your findings or deductions it
is difficult. The psychic faculties mentioned are the
expressions of the activity of the superconscious mind which
is the mind of the soul entity. This mental body is
constantly in action, so to speak, but only with some
individuals and only at times is it able to impress the
conscious mind with its efforts in a direct manner so that
they become a part of the conscious experience. My father
manifests a highly developed degree of psychic faculties, and
as an organization we are concerned with the study and
development of such faculties in others.
I am forwarding to you under separate cover two or our
current Bulletins both of which you may find of interest in
connection with your reading. I would suggest also that you
read the paper which we sent you some time ago on Life
Readings as a parallel paper in studying your reading. I
will be glad to discuss in detail any part of your reading
about which you have questions. We are always glad to help
an individual make their readings of practical interest and
value.
As I am rather interested in archaeology (we have so many
references to pre-history in the readings) I noted with
surprise the reference in your reading to the method of
disposal of the dead in Central America. This question has
been of concern to the students in this field for years. It
will be important to watch the results of their future
findings.
We will be glad to hear from you at any time.
Sincerely yours, Hugh Lynn Cayce
