7/18/41 Sister Miss [
338]'s letter:
Many thanks to you for the very fine Rdg. received this
morning. I know that [
933] will find a great deal of food
for thought in it when he reads it tonight.
There is, however, one thing that I must get straightened out
on, and that is the date and time of birth. I happen to know
[
933] was born in the very early morning - around daybreak -
because I was there. I had always thought that it was the
24th of October, until his life rdg. gave it as the 21st.
Now I don't know what to think, for if the time of birth is
incorrect the date could be also. (Please excuse the abrupt
way in which I speak, I don't mean to be rude.) Do you
suppose that there is a law involved which I know nothing
of? For instance, do you suppose that there is a set time
for humans to be born, and that even though the birth of the
body into the earth is delayed that the coming of the spirit
body into earth is the true record? I had understood that
birth took place at the time that the first breath of air
entered the child's lungs. This brings up something that
I'm especially interested in, as planetary influence is
gauged from time of birth. Perhaps you will be able to get
something further, or get the reason for the time of birth
being given as 9:30 on Oct. 21st...
I wonder sometimes how either [
933] or myself have preserved
our sanity thus far, for Mother and [
1211] are more of a
problem every day - mother especially unbalanced since [
256]
went.
[
933] sends his deepest thanks to you for your help and
interest. With love to you all.
7/25/41 EC's letter: "Now about the birth time of [
933].
Miss [
338], the readings make a distinction between the
physical and the spiritual birth, and indicate there may
be even more than 24 hours between the time. You may be
exactly right regards the physical. Will try and get the
question in the very first chance - when have a reading
where we can. Won't, unless you wish, give a whole period
to that question, but will first chance."
1/21/42 Miss [
338]'s letter: "In answer to yours of the
8th [in re prayer for divine guidance - see under
2678-1
Background], which should have been answered sooner. I had
looked for just such a letter from you, for we all need
direction from the God source. I have been praying for
divine guidance - it is a part of my prayer at all times,
for I know that no prayer goes unanswered. One cannot hold
as their ideal the teachings and life of the Master Jesus,
and at the same time take part in a man made war, or even to
enroll under such a banner. The two, in my mind, do not go
together, and I speak also for [
933], by his request. He may
be called now at any time - has prayed that God will show him
the way, but will definitely not fight. It may be that his
duty would lie in the way of working with the doctors, as he
has been and is now, doing research in chemical analysis at
the Boston City Hospital, on disease."
10/31/43 "[
933] has not been drafted - a great blessing.
He is on the staff at Harvard University Lab., and doing
research work for the Govt. He was away all summer on
trips, with the doctors in the Lab., going to different army
camps, and went as far South as Alabama. We were speaking
of you last night, and he was wishing for the time when he
could see you and talk with you again - for he thinks the
world of you."
