This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 6th day of September, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [934], through husband [391], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. [391], Edmond Jones and Lucy Clifton.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes - we have the body here, [934].
2. As we find, these are rather acute conditions arising from poisons in the system from the effect of that which is VERY severe upon the system.
3. We would keep that being applied in the present.
4. But begin with very small doses - and often - of Castoria, to ELIMINATE, see? This means not more than ten to twenty drops every fifteen to twenty minutes, until the body is thoroughly under the influence - whether it takes two, three or four bottles! And let THIS act as a part of the sedative.
5. It will be necessary to keep the sedative; necessary to keep the applications.
6. But we will find that with even the cold application, a WARM massage of the abdomen with the equal combination of Mutton Tallow, Spirits of Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor will be most helpful!
7. And if there had NOT been the sedative and the cold, we find that salts, turpentine and camphor taken internally WOULD have been the most beneficial. However, do not take it now! unless there becomes rather an acute condition again.
8. DO NOT take solid foods. Use liquids. And those things that are as a stimulant of the nature of alcohol will be VERY detrimental to the body. Hence only keep such things as broths or beef juice - and all of these sipped; not gulped but taken very lightly. Keep the body quiet and rest as much as possible.
9. Use enemas as WELL as the eliminants.
10. Ready for questions.
11. Do that, as indicated - and if there will be the precautions we should not have greater disturbance.

BACKGROUND

1. See 934-4 on 12/05/36. [She also had obtained interim rdgs. for her baby son, [1208].]
2. 9/06/38 Awfully sick, started with terrible pains in stomach and vomiting this morning - sort of green stuff; afraid of ptomaine poisoning from eating sea food [crabs], drinking beer, etc., last night. Been terribly constipated for several days; probably a reaction.
   Got Dr. Crews to wash out her stomach, took enema; put hot pad on back, feet, etc. Dr. Taylor gave her tablet to relieve pain.

REPORTS

1. 10/13/38 She was present for Ck. Physical for her husband, 391-18, also warning him of after effects of alcohol in system.
2. 4/10/39 She obtained a Mental-Spiritual - See 934-6.
3. 6/05/40 She obtained a Ck. Life - See 934-7.
4. 8/27/40 - 10/05/40 She referred Miss [2332] and Mrs. [2375] for a Physical Rdg.
5. 4/04/41 She obtained her next Ck. Physical - 934-8, for measles!
