Be mindful, then, that colds or draft, or night air, are not
over active for the system, or beware of conditions of that
nature. Meet the needs, then, rather of the digestive
system, with the stimulation to the liver and the activities
of its functioning, without too much stimulation to the
spleen or pancreas. This, we would find, would be the better
active principle for same: That of the green ragweed tea,
or Ambrosia weed. Make same in this manner: Gathering the
ragweed leaves, bruise same, and then put, to 4 ounces of
the leaf or the weed, 16 ounces of distilled or rain water.
Reduce by simmering, not boiling, to 1/2 the quantity. Then
add these properties as this:
Simple Syrup...........................4 ounces,
Oil of Sassafras......................40 minims,
Pure grain, or 85% grain alcohol.......2 ounces,
Tincture of Capsici....................3 minims.
Shake well together before the dose is taken. The dose
should be half a teaspoonful about twice each day, until
there is the full activity from the liver, see? Then it
may be taken only when necessary to keep up the eliminations
from the system.
The diets, we would add plenty of eggs - raw, preferably,
or with those of malt or beer. Those of liver, especially
calf liver - at least twice each week. Those of the
cod-liver oil would be well to take, at least a
dessertspoonful once each day. Also olive oil in small
quantities, so that same does not become rancid with the
system. Small amount each day of Wyeth's Iron, Beef and
Wine, will also aid and stimulate the body.
Use, as the rectifier for the irritations in the throat and
bronchials and lung, those of these properties, prepared in
this manner: Put 6 ounces of grain alcohol in an 8 ounce
glass container. Then add, in THIS rotation or manner,
first:
Eucalyptol............................40 minims,
Rectified Creosote....................10 minims,
Balsam of Fir, or Canadian Balsam.....10 minims,
Rectified Oil of Turp.................15 minims,
Tolu in solution.....................1/2 ounce.
When ready to use (and keep the bottle with a glass cork in
same), shake solution and inhale the vapors deep into the
lung, through the mouth and nostrils, breathing deep. Should
this produce irritation or cough, rest - but breathe deep
each time this is used.
Use white bread only very seldom, and whole wheat or those
of the rye bread the more often. Few potatoes. Little
meats, but the juices of same.
At least once each week have the thorough massage, either
neuropathically or osteopathically. Thorough massage.
Well, when such is given, that the body gave a good warm
sponge or shower bath, and well sponged off before the
massage is given. Do that. Ready for questions.
(Q) Should the body stay in bed until temperature
disappears?
(A) Temperature will not last with these administrations.
Well that the body REST often, but well that a little
exercise in the open, too, be taken. Seashore air more
beneficial than mountain air for THIS body.
That is all the questions.
We are through with this reading.

REPORTS
7/14/29 Mrs. [
1100]'s letter: "It has dawned on me that
even if I should get my sister's prescription filled I
couldn't send it on account of the alcohol and she is unable
to get it there, on that account. She is so much better,
Mr. Cayce, and words cannot express our gratitude to you.
She is taking the other things mentioned and has put on three
pounds in weight. Do you know a physician in ... whom we
could get to re-write the prescription?"
8/13/29 Sister Mrs. [
1100]'s letter: "My sister from ...
is visiting me and is getting along fine. We certainly want
to thank you for sending your brother-in-law's name to us
(Mr. Lynn Evans), as he certainly went to a lot of
trouble to get alcohol for the medicine. He was successful
in getting it and we surely are grateful to him and more so,
to you. She is following all suggestions now, and is feeling
fine. I think coming here (to Chicago) has helped her, too,
as it isn't so hot. She will probably be here for a few
weeks."
7/25/35 Verbal Report by sister, Mrs. [
1100]: She [
958] was
dying with tuberculosis, and was just skin and bones. Today
she is well and fighting to keep from getting too fat, which
is her main worry right now. GD.
6/28/40 She obtained a Life Reading - See
958-3.
10/23/51 Mrs. [
1100]'s report: "Quite a few years ago I had
a physical reading for my sister [
958], who was then... She
was on the verge of T.B. but after going down and getting her
started on treatments, etc., she got all right. However, she
does have quite a bit of bronchial disturbance, which
sometimes settles on or in the lungs. I thought that if
she would use the keg and apple brandy, it would help her.
She is anxious to do so and asked me to ask you to send her
directions for fixing the keg, etc., as I do not know the
details. If it is not too much trouble, will you do this
for me? Her name and address is: [...] ..."
3/64 Mrs. [
1100] reported that Mrs. [
958] still has spells
with her bronchial tubes, but she, Mrs. [
1100], thinks it is
because Mrs. [
958] and her husband both smoke too much.
9/21/79 GD's note: Mr. [
470], Mrs. [
1100]'s husband, is
visiting A.R.E. this week. His wife, Mrs. [
1100], died
4/20/79. He says that his sister in law, Mrs. [
958] is still
living but has had two heart attacks. She and her husband
are both invalids; they are not able to get out of the house.
7/18/81 Mrs. [
958] wrote HLC and GD reminding us that she
had obtained two Physical Readings and one Life Reading,
through her sister, Mrs. [
1100]. She, Mrs. [
958], is the
only one of the family left of her parents' ten children.
