TEXT

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions that may be submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes.
3. As we find, the greater disturbances in the present are the lack of vitality - which has been used up by the system's attempting to throw off cold as from superacidity, owing to the lack of proper eliminations.
4. Of course, the general conditions that have been indicated are still existent in more or less of a degree.
5. In the present, as we find, the diet should be one of the PRINCIPAL concerns; though a tonic to make for the better assimilation and activity of the assimilating forces would aid - with the use of the properties the body has used and does use from time to time for eliminations.
6. Thus there may be made better assimilation, and greater strength may be gained by the body to meet the necessary resistances through the season at hand.
7. Then as we find:
8. We would prepare regularly - every other day - about a pound of beef INTO Beef Juice! Not tea, not broth, but the Beef Juice! This would be taken rather often, but in very small quantities; and when taken almost CHEW it - though there is nothing to chew, of course - for it is liquid, but SIP it - when taking it about every two or three hours during the waking period. Take about a teaspoonful at the time, but take at least a minute or more to swallow that much, see? This will give strength, it will assimilate easily, and make for better conditions. Do not allow any fat to be in the beef when it is prepared. Preferably use the beef from the neck of the animal.
9. Also we find that Codiron AS a tonic for the body would be most beneficial, to prevent the inclinations for cold and congestion; and would keep and make more blood by its very activity with the Beef Juice. Take one tablet with the morning meal, and one with the evening meal. Take this for at least a month, every day; then leave off for a couple of weeks; then take it again for a month. Do this throughout the fall and winter.
10. As to other forces or influences in the diet; we would not have too much of syrups or sugars or white bread; but rather as these:
11. Mornings - citrus fruit juices; and mix lemon with orange juice when it is taken; or grapefruit; or occasionally change to pineapple. Then again there may be taken buckwheat or corn cakes. Use honey as a syrup, if it is desired at all. Butter may be taken with these, of course; with either coffee or that of any cereal drink.
12. Noons - preferably a part of same should be a combination of green vegetables; as tomatoes, celery, lettuce, onions, carrots, radishes - any or all of these may be a part of the diet - and a vegetable broth or the like.
13. Evenings - vegetables mostly that grow above the ground; a little of either fish, fowl or lamb should be the principal meat. Of course, wild fowl of any kind or wild game when this is able to be obtained - either as the broth or a little of the meat of same - would be very good for the body. Not too much of shell fish, but fish broiled or roasted or boiled would be preferable to that fried - for THIS body.
14. Ready for questions.
15. We are through with this Reading.

REPORTS

1. 2/17/39 Nephew, Mr. [261]'s letter: "I wonder if you would mind giving another rdg. for my aunt [975]. For several weeks she has been quite miserable in bed most of the time. In part I think it has been the reaction following my brother's death. In addition, however, she has had abdominal pains that have apparently bothered her a good deal.
"When the rdg. is given will you have included in the questions: 1. What is the cause of the abdominal pain? 2. Is there any growth in the abdomen and if so should anything be done about it? 3. What should be done for the constipation? 4. Would 'Vit-agar plain' which she has in her room be helpful? 5. What can be done for the nervous twitching that makes sleeping so difficult? 6. Should anything be taken to induce sleep at night?
...When the reading for my aunt is ready will you have Miss Davis send it to me at the office in N.Y..."
2. 2/24/39 See 975-6.
