Dear Mr. Cayce.
Please accept my many thanks for the Christmas thought and
which you so kindly sent me, and pardon my long delay in
acknowledging it. So many things crowd into life these days,
and so often I feel so no account that it seems hard for me
to write as I once did. I want you to know I still think of
you, and your work as I always have. And the only reason
have not asked for another reading, you told me in your last
letter, after the last reading, when you found time you would
ask why that reading got mixed up with [...]. As you started
out with DR. [...] then went on to read ME. And in the
reading it prescribed a medicine for cough. [...] did have a
cough but I did not. And I felt I did have other trouble
that you did not mention or help. So you never did write or
give me any other information about my case so just thought
you was to [were too] busy to bother with it. And another
reason, I see by the literature sent me from your office they
have raised the price of readings to $20.00, and I could not
give that at present. When Mr. [
2656] passed away I thought
I was to get five thousand dollars insurance. Instead it
seems there had been a new law made in Y.M.C.A. work or
plans, and the older men had larger dues to pay than the
young men and the longer a Sec. (?) lived after retirement
(retirement age was 60) the insurance decreased so instead of
getting five it was almost half that amount. I can't see any
Christian fairness in that, and then the funeral expenses
were about twice what they should be. So by the time I got
through, I felt, if I have any thing to go on in my older
days, I had to be very careful how I dispose of the little
left. If I had good health and was younger or in some way
make or help make my living, I would so love to give to your
work. For I know of NO other work I feel has done so much
good for humanity. Please don't misunderstand me, I want to
pay for a reading but I can't pay that amount. So have just
neglected to ask for those two reasons.
If you have the time please let me know if you make any
exceptions to the rule of $25.00. If no, if you will, let me
know what is the price of a reading for me and when I could
get it. I will greatly appreciate it.
I am visiting [
2657] and family will likely be here several
weeks. They are well. He & his wife work. The little boy
[...] is going to school.
My Granddaughter [...] married Jan 7th. She is now Mrs.
[...]. I know [
654] will miss her, but feel it may be better
for [
654]. She will have to get a new view point of live
[life?] & will be a change for her, which I am hoping will be
for good.
I hope this year holds many good things for you & yours and
that your work will prosper.
I am, respectfully Mrs. [
