12/23/35 Dr. John R. Thompson's letter:
[
988] seems to be doing very nicely. The swelling of the leg
is responding wonderfully to the mullein packs, he can be
rolled around easily now and it used to be that the slightest
move caused him a great amount of pain. As for the pain, it
persists, but doesn't seem to me to have the severity that it
used to - at least the effects aren't so great. The rectal
irritation seems to have completely cleared up with the
giving it a semi-rest - so now we can build up the number of
applications therein a bit more. All in all he seems to be
gaining steadily from week to week, and I guess that's all we
can ask for in a case of this type.
I see that I have a patient due any minute now, so will have
to cut this short. I could go on indefinitely, or so it
seems to me. Anyway, inasmuch as you-all sort of rushed out
of town let me take this opportunity of saying - well, that I
enjoyed meeting you, your family, Miss Davis, as well as
having the privilege of seeing your work. May many more
thousands have the work benefit them as have others been.
Wishing you a very Merry Xmas and a wonderful year in 1936, I
am, most sincerely [signed] Dr. J. R. Thompson
