5/09/39 HLC's letter to Mr. Milton W. Harrison:
Mr. Milton W. Harrison
110 East 42nd Street,
New York, N.Y.
Dear Mr. Harrison:
I always regret it when I do not have the opportunity of
sitting down with you even for a few minutes to discuss "the
state of the Association" and all that it includes. It was
good though just to shake hands at the meeting. I wonder if
you know how much you give in a handshake?
If this letter catches you at a busy moment just put it in
your pocket and read it later on the way to Washington,
Chicago or Kalamazoo, for it must of necessity be rather long
to gather up a few loose ends.
You will remember that I spoke to you about a product called
Furfluf upon which readings have been given. This is the
story briefly. Several years ago when the hospital was in
operation a woman by the name of Mrs. [
1000] came for
treatment after a nervous breakdown. She became interested
in the Life Readings and obtained her own. This reading
indicated that Mrs. [
1000] would be successful and happy in
working at anything that had to do with furs, especially fur
cleaners. It seems that she was connected with large fur
interests in the early American period. Mrs. [
1000] had
already thought about a possible fur cleaner and asked some
questions about it in a subsequent reading. The reading gave
a complete liquid formula for a cleaner and directed her to
work it out with a carrier that could be combed through furs.
For the past four years Mrs. [
1000] has been working on this
product. From time to time she has had readings which have
assisted her. She has perfected, patented and tested this
product.
Before I left New York after the closing of the program I
took this product to Mr. [
1564]. He became interested in it
and has arranged with Mrs. [
1000] to test the product in
several cities. This test is going on now. The Association
will receive ten percent of Mrs. [
1000]'s royalties and ten
percent of the net income of the company distributing it
through Mr. [
1564]. If the product is successful the
Association should receive a moderate income through this
source.
This will not mean anything for a year or two but is at least
something to think about and is a remarkable working out of a
Life Reading. More important than anything else is that the
work on this product has saved this woman's sanity and
brought her from the depths of despair to constructive
endeavor.

6/26/39 "Altho my visit to Va. Beach I liken to a fiery
furnace, I'm glad I went. I should have missed much. I know
you as you really are. As for the future, your guidance is
something - everything to me. I see now why so many channels
have been closed to me. I shall try never to be lonely
again. Keeping my mental balance seems a much more difficult
problem."
10/04/39 Mrs. [
1602]'s letter to EC: "...The Fur-Fluf
situation is being ironed out, I am told, but just how hot
the iron is, I don't know. If I ever get a chance to talk to
[
1564] [husband] I may find out but his secretary says they
are going to continue to try to introduce it here, thru the
department stores and by radio if they can get the stores to
take it - which is the present problem..."
1/28/40 Sister, Mrs. [
1192], obtained emergency Ck. Physical
for Mrs. [
1000] - See
1000-25.
2/12/40 Mrs. [
1602] (Mr. [
1564]'s wife)'s letter: "Isn't it
too bad about [
1000]...You know they put Furfluf on sale at
Gimbels but it did not sell. I think that was the cause of
her present trouble. Even she demonstrated there, for a
while - but such a shame too, because it is a grand product."
