This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 6th day of November, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1010], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions that may be submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [1010].
3. As we find, there are disturbing conditions that are acute in the present. These arise somewhat from the lack of the proper eliminations of accumulations from the old disturbance in the gall duct and liver area; producing a greater stress upon the eliminating forces in the kidney area, causing pressures upon the locomotaries in the lumbar and sacral area, - thus producing contraction of the muscular forces along the sciatic nerves, drawing toes backward under the feet as it were.
4. This as we find has caused or does cause a great deal of excruciating pain when attempting to move.
5. Apply first over the lumbar and sacral area a mixture of three parts of laudanum and one part Aconite. Then apply over same the heavy salt, preferably in bag, but the salt HEAT. Heat the salt, you see - heavy, coarse salt, and put in bag. Change about every thirty minutes, or every twenty minutes, until there is the relaxing of the muscular forces along the sciatic nerves.
6. As these applications begin to relax the body, then combine with same a massage along the sciatic nerve to the bottom of the feet and plumb to the center of the lumbar area, - using a compound for such massaging, prepared in this manner:
7. To 1 quart of Straight Gasoline (not colored), add - IN THE ORDER NAMED:

   Gum Camphor...................1 dram,
O'Ceder, or Cedar Wood Oil....1 ounce,
Oil of Sassafras............1/2 ounce.

   Shake these ingredients together. Massage - not rub hard, but pat and rub - over the areas indicated, see?
8. Prepare Watermelon Seed Tea. The proportions would be a tablespoonful of crushed seed in a pint of boiling water. Steep as tea. Drink this, strained off, during a whole day.
9. After the application of the heat AND the properties indicated (Laudanum-Aconite; then the salt heat), have a correction osteopathically or neuropathically along the whole of the cerebrospinal system.
10. Stimulate the eliminations with the combination of Syrup of Figs and Fletcher's Castoria. Take them opposite; a teaspoonful of one every hour; first one, then the other; until there are thorough eliminations.
11. Do these and we will bring the better forces, and remove these disturbances from the body.
12. Ready for questions.

REPORTS

1. 11/07/38 [1010]'s ltr.:
   Monday ... St. Ala.
   On Fri. evening five fifteen (5:15-P.M.) P.M. My legs refused to function they were so heavy I could not lift them, thru the sacrum, was so weak. I would sway from side to side. I tried & tried to walk by holding on to some ones hands, but could not do so, had no pain, no dizziness nor faintness, no numbness, legs just gave away, and I would crumble to floor. A doctor was called in at five thirty. He took blood pressure - only one point above normal, respiration normal, pulse fast (94) no temp. He put me to bed, said it was over work, and over work of my one kidney, (only have one). I have been having black spots before my eyes until I was blinded at times, for two Mo. or more. I had really worked too hard lately, and ate wrong, some meat, and too much protein and stood for hours on my feet at a time. The Doctor told me to apply heat, and rub in something with ether in it, and take some tablets for the cleansing of my kidney, as there was pus in it. Was AWFUL sick, am living on fruit juices and pot. soup. Sent telegram to Edgar Cayce next A.M. rec. telegram in evening. We immediately followed suggestions. Am much better, can walk some. 2. 11/18/38 [1010]'s ltr.:
   Fri.
   Dear Mr. Cayce
   It is two weeks today that I took down with my back, legs. Am improving right along. Have been able to work this week. The Reading did not say how long to continue suggested treatment, but suppose until I am well or near well. Didn't say how many or how often. Am taking them twice a day. Suffer with back across sacrum. Legs are weak and trembly. My vision is so much better. As the "check" didn't say to stop "doctors" medicine, as it helped to clear up the kidney (from tablets). He said PUS ON kidney which I know to be true. Have continued to take them with the watermelon seed.
   I just do not know what to take for constipation as that is my whole trouble. I have taken Agarol [Agoral] as you suggested. It seems to do the work, but still it does not keep the gall bladder functioning correctly, but as I am crippled inside - when they took out my appendix they removed 13 in. of 'gut', so of course put the whole thing out of line. I am not so awful sick. Nauseated and so faint. Am really much better.
