This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the David E. Kahn home, 44 W. 77th St., Apt. 14-W, New York City, this 25th day of October, 1935, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [1031], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [982].

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1031].
2. Now, as we find, while there is much that might be desired in the physical reactions of this body - BY ALL, there are those conditions as we find that may be materially added in producing such reactions in the physical forces of the body as to bring greater resuscitating and revivifying influences in the reactions to organs, to the functioning of organs, and to the general welfare of the physical body.
3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1031] we are speaking of, present in this room:
4. THE BLOOD SUPPLY indicates the impoverishments that come through the lack of the proper distribution of that assimilated by the system. And while resistance is constantly being builded, this often breaks down - through those conditions that exist in the organs that assist in the purifying of the blood supply; as through the lungs themselves, those conditions that through these activities cause disturbance in the liver as related to the liver, the heart and the lung circulation.
5. Yet in their disturbances we find that there may be the addition to the system of those influences that may, through the activity of these organs, AID them in becoming revitalized within themselves; so that the resistance which is builded - and that at times loses, as it were, its hold upon the activities - may be so stimulated that the whole system may be made to make for coordinations through the activities created in these organs specifically. And the effect that these stimulations would have upon the blood supply would revivify the whole of the organism itself.
6. In the activities of the blood itself there is the indication that there are the lesser numbers of the red blood cells than nominally should be for the body. There are excesses at times of white blood supply. This necessarily becomes straining, and does make for - through the blood supply itself - a strain upon the system. The blood being the life flow, hence the organs that aid in the creating of same, that aid in the stimulation to same, that aid in the circulating of same through the system, if stimulated in manners where those activities are taken into the system in such a way as to coordinate WITH that activity already existent - without disturbing, without being detrimental to other portions - would bring the nearer normal reactions for the body itself.
7. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, OR SYSTEMS, we find while these are at times contributory causes to distresses, through the digestive forces in the manners in which the changes come about, they are the effect rather than the primary cause.
8. However, naturally, in the coordinating centers of the cerebrospinal and sympathetic systems - as indicated from those co-junctional centers or plexus in the brachial area, 2nd and 3rd dorsal, or in the lumbar area as in conjunction with the solar plexus center - it is shown that at periods there is produced a dis-ease; not disease but dis-ease, to the system itself. This is from the nerve reaction by the very weakness created in the system by the unbalanced condition. Hence it becomes a portion of the general disturbance in the body itself.
9. AS TO THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, we find: In brain forces the responses to and through the sensory organisms are very good.
10. In the throat, bronchi, the lungs and larynx: As indicated, here we find the organ - or organs - involved in disturbances through the very nature of the reactions that proceed from the general activity of the body. Yet these may be so assisted in regaining the proper balance that, being re-ionized or re-vitalized by those stimulations that will make for the proper plasm-forming forces in the blood supply and to the organ itself, the balance may be created through the system.
11. In the heart's activity, as indicated - only secondarily does it become involved in the disturbances that prevent the BEST normal reaction that may be had by the body.
12. In the digestive forces - here again we find, as we have indicated, disturbances that arise at times; and that the very position of the digestive organs themselves makes for a CONTRIBUTORY condition to disturbing influences that arise in the body. However, here again we find that in their coordination between the liver (in its excretory and secretive functioning) and the spleen and pancreas, the activity of the gall duct, stimulation for their proper reactions may be made so as to cause more response to the conditions of the body itself, as well as making for the correction of same and bringing to the body greater ease physically; making for a better mental and physical body for the reaction of the spiritual forces that manifest through same.
13. HENCE WE WOULD FIND THAT THERE MAY BE APPLIED THOSE THINGS FOR THIS CHANGE AND FOR THESE CONDITIONS IN THE SYSTEM IN THE PRESENT; though after these have been used for the period to where their reaction to various conditions in the system have been made for the correction of same, then we would alter or change to meet those conditions that will have come about in the body. Then, we would begin in this manner:
14. We would prepare the galvanic or Wet Cell Appliance that would carry to the system properties that will STIMULATE the activity of these organs, and make for the distributions of that assimilated by the diets of the body; so that this revitalization may take place, and through same adding to the system the elements that would make for the coordination with all the gland secretions and gland activities of the body. Thus we may produce a normal reaction in the system itself.
15. In one application we would use the Gold solution, as to make for the plasm of strength and resistance that - added TO that already being accomplished - will aid in the very vital forces of the nerve energy and of that which prevents separations in the urea in the blood itself.
16. And in the other application we would use the iodine in solution (or Atomidine), so that it is assimilated by the bodily functionings; not being taken internally but as stimulations to the bodily functions themselves.
17. The attachments would be made in this manner:
18. Every third day, for thirty minutes, the copper plate or anode would be attached first, at the 4th lumbar plexus; and the larger nickel plate, passing through the Gold solution (in the proportion of THREE GRAINS Chloride of Gold to each ounce of DISTILLED water), would be attached last, over the lacteal duct center.
19. Then, every third day, for thirty minutes, the first anode or small plate of the copper would be attached at the brachial center (or the secondary cardiac plexus; the plexus between the 3rd and 4th dorsal centers); and the larger nickel plate, the lead passing through the Atomidine or iodine in solution (full strength), would be attached last, over the gall duct center and the umbilicus center that coordinates from same.
20. On the days BETWEEN the Wet Cell Appliance treatments (that is, every third day also), in the evening before retiring we would have a general massage over the whole of the cerebrospinal system; especially across the diaphragm area in the frontal portion and extending to the sternum area in the front, over the lower portion of the esophagus center or entrance to same, and along the cerebrospinal system. For such massaging we would use a compound prepared in this way and manner:
21. To 4 ounces of Witchhazel as the base, add - IN THE ORDER named:

    Compound Tincture of Benzoin.....1 ounce,
Oil of Wintergreen...............1 ounce,
Spirits of Camphor.............1/2 ounce,
Oil of Cedar Wood..............1/2 ounce,
Sassafras Oil...................30 minims.

    These separate, to be sure, when standing. But before using, shake thoroughly together. Pour sufficient then into an open container (as a saucer or bowl), and with the tips of the fingers massage this solution into the spinal system and those areas indicated; that the areas may be enlivened by the activities of same to the superficial circulation.
22. Thus may the activities of the properties taken by the vibrations from the low electrical charges (through the Wet Cell Appliance) produce to each of the centers and ganglia those stimulations for normal activity; making in the organs as indicated the reactions from those properties assimilated such as to replenish and rebuild.
23. We will find some gain in weight. This would be indicated within the first four to six weeks. And then we will find the general health, the vitality, the resistances - and, most of all, the outlook upon general conditions about the body will be more optimistic.
24. Every third day would be each of these applications, you see; one day the Wet Cell Appliance carrying the Gold and the next day carrying the Atomidine, and the next day have the massage with the compound. Then begin again. This would make each come every third day, you see.
25. In the matter of the diet beware of combining great quantities of starch and sweets at the same meal; or beware of too much pastries or too much of white bread, or too much of potatoes WITH pastries. The jackets of potatoes are much preferable to be used by the body than the pulp of the potatoes. But all of the body-building forces would be helpful in the general diet.
26. Ready for questions.
27. (Q) I seem to have a great deal of trouble - pelvic trouble - dislocation of pelvic bone.
    (A) This, as we find, has been indicated; in the NECESSITY of those applications for making for construction through the activities of the organs and the body itself, through the pelvic center - the 4th lumbar. This is the axis (the 4th lumbar) of the pelvic center itself, you see. So, if there is builded in the system that which makes for the abilities for coordination in the body-building influences, which arise through stimulation to the organs indicated - but given to the activities of the body itself, not only the structural portions will become more stabilized but the activities through all portions of the system will become nearer normal.
    The massage indicated as a portion of the treatment, to be sure, should include the pelvic and the sacral areas; this GENTLY done, but will stimulate such activities that these conditions that have caused disturbances should disappear.
    Do these, as we have indicated, and - as we find - we will bring for this body, [1031], a much nearer normal body.
28. (Q) How long should these treatments be kept up?
    (A) As is always indicated, these had best be taken in periods of two to three weeks, and then a rest period from same, and then repeat the activities.
29. (Q) I have had quite a lot of treatment similar to that suggested.
    (A) No treatment has been given to this body where the RADIAL activity has been the basis of the treatments. While massage of a nature has been given, with this CHARACTER of massage as suggested - and with the radial forces from the properties indicated that will be carried to the system through the Wet Cell Appliance - there will be quite a different reaction.
    Do that.
    The low electrical forces through the Wet Cell Appliance are to carry the properties in the system that are the basis of activity in nerve and in the segment areas; or those known as the cartilaginous forces that have been disturbed in the pelvic area itself. These arise, as is found, from the creation in the blood supply that is defective in the organs indicated. Now we add the cleansing forces for the body through the atomic influence of the iodine in the system; the massage carrying properties that work WITH the elements that are being absorbed or used through the vibratory influence. Thus we will make for corrective forces that will be helpful to this body. Do that.
30. We are through for the present.

2. 2/28/39 "Thank you for your reply to my telegram. You are good to try and be of help, which I seem to be in need of very badly. No medical treatment has been able to help and I feel that you will meet my need."
3. 3/03/39 "I don't know just how to describe my difficulty except to say for a long while I have had a bad circulatory condition with a slowing up of all processes, and particular trouble with my legs, feet and head. My veins seem to be especially uncomfortable in heat, and expand and pain, and the tissues of my body seem dead and inactive, and thickened. This condition is often accompanied by gain in weight and lassitude, yet when I lie down to rest my head and eyes hurt. Any nearness to heat like sunlight or fire start an inflammation all over the surface of my body. The doctors have been trying to use gland injections, and nerve remedies, and say there is disorder between the central and sympathetic nerve centers. My face and hands are hot and thick, and my powers of concentration and emotional reaction seem dead, and the digestive processes are disordered...
   "Osteopathic treatment has not benefited me except occasionally. Often it makes me feel worse. Vibration seems to upset me and let everything down."
