TEXT

1. EC: Yes. There are disturbing conditions in the physical forces of this body. These, as we find, are hindrances in the circulations; and the tendencies for the ACCUMULATIONS through the abdominal area to become in a plethora condition through INFLAMMATION that arises from not coordinating between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal impulses from the 9th and 10th dorsal area.
2. Thus we have in the caecum area and in the area on the left side above the kidney, the pains that make for uneasiness; even at times dizziness, and producing those tendencies for the temperature and the languidness, superacidity.
3. These, as we find, may be eliminated; PREFERABLY through the establishing of the coordination in the area indicated between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal, and the applications of those things that would RELIEVE the body of the inflammations and tendencies for these conditions to reappear.
4. Not operative measures, then, in the present; but rather the deeper manipulations osteopathically given, every other day for the first ten to twenty days.
5. After the fifth osteopathic treatment, at the end of same, begin with the application of Oil Packs across the abdomen - which would be done in this manner:
6. First we would cover the area from just below the ribs or the upper portion of the stomach, extending to the caecum and ileum plexus area, with a combination in this proportion:

   Oil of Wintergreen............1 ounce,
Sweet Oil.....................1 ounce,
Sassafras Oil...............1/2 ounce.

Mix these ingredients together by shaking, and just massage gently.
7. When there has been the absorption by such massaging, after waiting about five to ten minutes, then place over the same area the hot packs prepared by dipping flannels in this mixture; equal parts:

   Mutton Suet, or Mutton Tallow
Turpentine
Spirits of Camphor

Heat the mixture, not really hot - but kept so as to be warm; dip two thicknesses of flannel in same and lay over the area indicated. Let same remain for fifteen to twenty minutes.
8. Follow this procedure every third day, after the fifth osteopathic treatment of giving adjustments.
9. Also at the same period give a high enema, or colonic.
10. And we find that those disturbing symptoms will disappear.
11. Then, in twenty to twenty-two days, we will give those things that may eliminate this trouble entirely from the system.
12. The diets should be rather simple. Not too much roughage, but rather pre-digested foods the greater portion of the time. Not too much liquids, to be sure, but SEMI-liquids, see? Fruits, citrus fruits, pears, apples (the jenneting variety), peaches, apricots, plums, grapes; grapes especially. All of these may be a portion of the diet.
13. We are through for the present.

Copy to Self - AIR MAIL - SPECIAL

(See letter [which was enclosed] with directions to OSTEOPATH.
The ingredients for massaging and to be used for the packs may be purchased separately, and then added in the order indicated.
Let us know when you have followed the treatments as suggested for twenty to twenty-two days, so we may give a Check Reading for further suggestions. We may be in Detroit when that time comes. GD.)
