This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 4th day of November, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1045], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [1100].

TEXT

1. EC: Yes. Now, as we find, there ARE disturbing conditions. These arise from accumulations that produce the segregation of forces, that should have been eliminated, into pockets; or into forms that make pressure in the system.
2. The conditions are rather serious, as we find in the present. While these cause a great deal of pain, we find that this may be relieved in the immediate if there are set up the drainages through the system. These should be of varied natures (the drainages), meeting the varied conditions or disturbances with the body - as we shall see.
3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1045] we are speaking of:

THE BLOOD SUPPLY indicates how there is the tendency for the separations in the system, owing to poisons and toxic forces that accumulate from pressures in portions of the body that hinder in the eliminations through the alimentary canal; making for inflammation that produces a temperature through INTERNAL portions of the body. Though these make for quick changes at times in the system, these must be taken into consideration in making the applications for helpful forces or means.
5. IN THE NERVOUS FORCES OF THE BODY, the natural tendency is a separation here also. Or there is the inability for the body to CONTROL the activities of the nervous forces through pressures created in various portions of the system. And these make for periods when there is the unrest, or those activities where the cerebrospinal and the sympathetic or vegetative forces are not coordinating in carrying impulses through the system.
6. Hence we have those attending conditions in the activities of the superficial circulation in areas where distresses are shown in the outer portion of body, in the discoloration and the effect as produced in the internal forces, and the pressures upon the ORGANS THEMSELVES OF THE BODY.
7. Then, in meeting the needs as we find in the immediate future:
8. First, we would begin with high colonic irrigations. This will necessitate being done two or three times in two or three days, you see; not too great a quantity at first, but this will reduce and allay much of the disturbing factors. This should be of the COLONIC irrigation nature, and with not just high enemas, see? Use for same the soda and saline solution, in the proportions of about a tablespoonful of baking soda to a gallon of tepid water and a level teaspoonful of table salt.
9. In the last solution used (or rinse water) put a tablespoonful of ALKALIN Petrolagar to the gallon of water, see? The water would be lukewarm. And keep stirred.
10. Give one such irrigation one day, one the next day, and one the third day; or two may be given the first day, until we bring relief to the pressure areas.
11. Begin was early as possible with the Animated Ash to make for the activity of more oxygen in the blood; one-eighth grain TWICE a day. Empty the powder dry on tongue and wash down with water; DO NOT take IN the capsule. One dose would be taken in the morning and the other in the afternoon.
12. Five to six minutes after the evening dose of ash is given (which would be around four-thirty or five o'clock in the afternoon), use the ULTRA-Violet Ray. Not the violet ray, but the ULTRA Violet. This would preferably be the Cooper-Hewitt or the Mercury Vapor Light, and would be at least thirty-eight to forty-two inches from the body; but should be applied over the lower portion of the cervical and upper portion of the dorsal area (along the spine) for about a minute and a half to two minutes - after it is full strength, you see.
13. This would only be given once a day, you see (and would not be given following the dose of Ash given in the morning), following the eighth-grain of Ash taken in the afternoon. The morning dose of the Ash should be taken without the light.
14. DO NOT allow these applications to become too severe, or to make for burns. If necessary use a green shade or light, or green glass between the Ultra-Violet and the body; this would be about an equal distance between the body and the light itself. This would shade sufficient to be helpful in the vibrations as created from or between the Ultra-Violet and the green rays. The glass that is used between should preferably be the plate glass, a quarter to half an inch thick.
15. In the same periods there should be the manipulation given OSTEOPATHICALLY, that will produce the setting up of drainages from the upper portion of the dorsal area, that will be activative through the whole of eliminating system.
16. These should be kept.
17. We would use that combination which we have given for the producing of a reduction of nausea in the system; that is:

    Limewater............................1 ounce,
Cinnamon Water.......................1 ounce,
10% solution Iodide of Potassium....20 minims,
10% solution Bromide of Potassium...40 minims.

    Shake the solution well before the dose is taken, which would be a teaspoonful (in half a glass of water or just plain, whichever is desired by the body); and may be taken two or three hours apart. This is ONLY to reduce or to keep down nausea; and those strainings that arise from inflammation that comes to the stomach itself, preventing the eliminations being carried on properly.
18. Also occasionally, over the abdominal area or those areas where there are excruciating pains at times, it would be well to use flannels (two or three thicknesses) that are well-greased or dipped in a solution of equal parts:

    Mutton Tallow
Spirits of Turpentine
Spirits of Camphor
Compound Tincture of Benzoin

    Equal parts, but added in the order named. Keep this solution hot, or put on the flannels warm and use an electric pad.
19. Do these for the body for the next ten days, and then we would give further instructions.
20. Ready for questions.
21. (Q) What advice regarding diet or nourishment?
    (A) Fresh grape juice (squeezed from fresh grapes), orange juice, grapefruit juice, or such. Fruit juices are preferable. Gradually there may be added the semi-liquids, as steel cut oats cooked well done, beef juices - gradually. All of these should NOT be given in swallows or gulps, but SIPPED rather.
    Do this for the present.
22. We are through for the present.

It may be that you can get all three modes of treatment from an Osteopath; or at least the Ultra-Violet AND the osteopathic manipulations, while you might have to get a nurse or a naturopathic physician to give the colonics. But please stress ALL being given as indicated.
    See copy of letter [which was enclosed] explaining Animated Ash and where obtained. Knowing there would be some delay, we took the liberty of wiring to Mr. Bradley to send it to you immediately; so it should be there by the time you receive this.

1. 11/17/35 Husband [1745]'s letter:
   ..., Texas
   Mr. Edgar Cayce Detroit, Michigan
   Dear Mr. Cayce:
   My wife received the ninth treatment today; tomorrow she will have had the tenth. After the tenth treatment you were to send further instructions. We have an Osteopathic Doctor [Julius McBride, D.O.] who is following instructions very closely, he reports:
   The manipulations in the dorsal area is scattering the toxemia throughout the system, causing temperature to raise to 101 to 102 degrees daily. - Steady aches in chest. Weak voice (due to affected throat). Generally speaking, patient is in worse condition at this time than before starting treatment; but specifically this condition would follow this treatment until these poisons could be eliminated through proper channels.
   We are very anxious to receive further instructions shortly.
2. 11/21/35 See 1045-2. Mrs. [1100] was present for this rdg. and told us Mrs. [1045]'s case was one of advanced tuberculosis.
