This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the Warshawsky home, 3046 Webb Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, this 19th day of November, 1935, in accordance with request made by the wife - Mrs. [1065], new Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [1100].

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. [480] and her mother-in-law, Irene Goldman and Hugh Lynn Cayce.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1060].
2. As we find, conditions are becoming more acute - from a combination of disturbances in the physical forces of the body.
3. These, as we find, have to do with eliminations, the effects as produced by these disturbances gradually building destructive forces, and - in combination in the present - that which disagreed with the body in its ability to assimilate or digest, and the effect these have upon the system.
4. Then, these are conditions as we find them with this body, [1060] we are speaking of:
5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, we find the indications there of the character of disturbance and the toxic forces that are being carried in the system without proper eliminations through their proper channels.
6. This also indicates that the sources of same arise from not only an intestinal disturbance through the lymph flow in these portions but the non-activity of the lower hepatic circulation as combined with same.
7. Hence we have a congestion in the kidneys and inflammation that, unless it is checked, must cause the necessity of measures that would be rather extreme for the condition of the body in the present.
8. IN THE NERVOUS FORCES, the pressures, to be sure, upon both the cerebrospinal and sympathetic systems are as effects; the causes being from a superacidity in the system, but has made for a lowering of the lactics in the digestive forces - and a condition in the PYLORUS OF INFLAMMATION and engorgement. And these combined with a sedimentary effect in the ducts about the gall area or gall bladder area make for excruciating pains at times.
9. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, while there are minor conditions and disturbances whose correction would be helpful, these - as we find - in the main are those activities that need the care and attention in the present.
10. Sedatives or laxatives taken internally at present only prolong the condition, and are not effective upon the system other than as palliatives - and are NOT making for corrections in the manner in which the system may respond best; without other measures, as we find.
11. Hence we would find the application of those things that would make for the relieving of the distresses by measures that will allow the system to readjust itself to producing vitality that may strengthen the body and build resistances, would be the manner - or the measures to be applied for the greater correction and for that which will be the least destructive to the organic disturbance as well as the functioning through the system of the activities in the body itself.
12. Then, as we find, these would be the applications:
13. Unless all are done, do NONE - and sooner or later there would be the resorting to extreme measures, as indicated.
14. But if these are done, cooperatively and in the manner that will make for the producing in the body of those things that will become the greater effective with the distresses of the body, the condition may be met - and resuscitating forces, revivifying energies, may be brought about in the body.
15. First, then, as we find would be the better, make applications for the next three and a half to four hours - constantly changing every twenty to thirty minutes - of the Castor Oil Packs. Two to three to four thicknesses of heavy flannel, across the abdomen, the liver area, the lower portion of the stomach itself, and to the caecum area.
16. During the periods of these Packs there would be a gentle stimulation osteopathically of the eliminating centers, for stimulating activity through the jejunum - which would begin, of course, from the 4th and 5th dorsal downward; with stimulating the activity of the kidneys and bladder. Such osteopathic manipulations would be given almost in a constant manner, or two or three times during the time the applications are being made of the Castor Oil Packs - as hot as the body can stand.
17. Do NOT overcrowd the system with nourishments, during the period the cleansing of the system is being carried on. Fruit juices, broths, or beef juice may be taken in very small quantities - but often, if it is to satisfy the appetite.
18. When these have been given for the period indicated, then rest.
19. And on the morrow, after the first meal (or after the first nourishment is given tomorrow morning), give a dosage of the Alcaroid; that will form a chyle through the system for activities upon the upper portion of the alimentary canal as related to the hepatic circulation.
20. And then we would follow same with enemas. Two might be given the first day, to remove the conditions existent in the upper portion of the colon or through the caecum area. Beware that there is not attempted too great an evacuation in the beginning, as to make too great a pressure upon portions of the body, as these evacuations are begun.
21. Should temperature arise to a greater degree, it would be well that other measures be taken.
22. But if there are the massages or adjustments osteopathically - or eliminations rather than adjustments, by stimulating ganglia - we should find response in the next twenty-four to forty-eight hours. Otherwise we would give other instructions.
23. Ready for questions.
24. (Q) Should colonics be given, or just high enemas?
    (A) Colonics! But, as indicated, do not attempt to cleanse the whole area at once.
    While these given in some manners would be very trying on the system, if this temperature is to be allayed these must be given. And those impediments through the alimentary canal must be removed, or show for sediments that will make for a lacking of the secretions through the gall duct area - thus greater irritations, more inflammation and more nausea in the stomach.
    Do these, then, as indicated.
25. (Q) Any special solution for the irrigations?
    (A) In the first cleansing use a tablespoonful of table salt and two tablespoonsful of baking soda to the gallon of water. In the last or rinse water use an alkalin cleanser of the nature that prevents re-fermentation - or such as we have given for such conditions; Glyco-Thymoline.
26. (Q) After using the Oil Packs for several hours, should these be repeated after a rest period - or used just the once?
    (A) Best for just the one period of application as indicated, kept for several hours until there is a response; changing each Pack every twenty minutes. Also giving the manipulations, and then the Alcaroid on the morrow - and the beginning of the enemas.
27. (Q) Should any treatments now being given be discontinued?
    (A) This will be a reversal of most all being given.
28. (Q) None of the treatments now being given, then, should be continued?
    (A) As indicated, DO THESE - if we would bring the better condition for this body, [1060].

BACKGROUND

1. GD's note: Mrs. [1100] and Mrs. [1065] told us that Mr. [1060] had been in great pain for several days; he had been kept doped up. Three doctors had agreed he must have exploratory surgery; they were sure he had kidney stones, also uremic poisoning and locked bowels.

REPORTS

1. GD's note: About 8 P.M. wife reported they got started on the tr. and by 12 midnight he was easy. Dr. John R. Thompson, D.O., stayed with him and treated him several times during the night, while the Packs and other things were also being used.
