(Q) What was the purpose of my son [
988] coming into my
life, and passing?
(A) As has been given, that each might have the opportunity
for knowing the activity one of the other.
For, as has been given, He hath not willed that any soul
should perish, but with each temptation hath prepared a
means, a way of escape.
Through that the individual may do for those it contacts, the
soul becomes aware of those experiences of beauty, of joy.
For as He hath known thee, as thou hast known thy son in the
flesh, each represents, each signifies an experience that -
held in the light of that given - makes for a BEAUTY, a joy.
We are through for the present.

REPORTS
2/27/36 "Had a letter from Mrs. [
1100] yesterday saying that
you would be in Detroit next week, so decided I must write
you now to tell you how I wish I could be there to see you as
I know a good talk with you would help me a lot.
"I know how you must feel about having to go to Detroit at
this time and I sure feel for you, but there you are - it's
just one of those things, and why it had to happen to you
(the Detroit arrest, etc.) is simply beyond me to figure out.
"Rec'd my readings (
1073-3 and 1073-4) and you must know how
happy I was to get them. Am still busy reading over my Life
Reading, also trying to follow some of the good advice. How
I wish I had Hugh Lynn to explain them to me in his grand
manner."
3/09/36 EC's letter:
Dear Mrs. [
1073]:-
Thanks for yours of 27th don't know whether this will catch
you before you leave Fla. or not if not perhaps they will
forward it. We went to Detroit today two weeks ago, the day
we arrived they renewed our bond and called the case for
last Tuesday, at the time they dismissed the charge against
Gertrude, Hugh Lynn and Miss Gladys. At first the Lawyer
admitted a technical guilt for me. It was then passed on to
the Probate who acted at once and The Judge (Scallen) said
well we will let me make my own sentence. Return the 20.
Paid and then report by letter to the court for six months.
So possibly I am not such a bad man after all even before the
LAW.
So it is all settled, a lot of worry and trouble, and hated
to be so much of a worry to Mrs. Warshawsky and her family
[Mr. and Mrs. Abe Warshawsky and daughter, Mrs. Sydney
Krause]. But they were lovely, as you know they can be also
Mr and Mrs Dillman [Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Dillman] were
just as lovely as could be. I can only give thanks to a
loving heavenly Father for such lovely friends and so many of
them, trust I may in some way be able to show my
appreciation. Do hope, Mrs [
1073] you are feeling a lot
better, interesting you self for some one else will bring
more joy and help than you have ever thought possible. That
is my experience and am sure it will be yours. All are very
well here. Hope the rest of your family are feeling fine,
be sure and let us hear from you, for to have known you is
to love you and we feel very close to you and hope we can
lend a word of help and cheer here and there.
All send love and best wishes to you and yours
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce
Sent us big box of fruit, etc, before leaving Florida.
