(Q) There are two growths that appear to be warts on the
ball of my left foot; what is the best way to dissolve or
remove them?
(A) Apply each evening a small amount of baking soda wet
thoroughly with spirits of camphor, just sufficient to cover
same - and bind on so as to keep over the night. This will
cause some little sharp pain, and a little soreness for a few
days, but will dissolve and prevent any irritation following
same; for these are as but those eliminations in system being
thrown out in improper directions.
As is seen also from pores that appear to be large, or
blackheads, or spots appearing in portions of the skin.
These will be aided by the use of Rochelle salts, taken in
small quantities each morning. Also before the noon and
evening meals take half to a quarter teaspoonful of pure
olive oil.
Then, for these on face and neck - well that there be made
local application first of a warm Turkish towel; not hot, not
steaming, but warm Turkish towel, wet, and let it remain on
for eight to ten minutes. Then rub thoroughly with pure
Castile soap. Then put on COLD cloths for one to two
minutes, until three or four are applied. Then PAT the skin
very thoroughly with the hands, until the circulation in neck
and face is thoroughly established again. Do not use creams
or powders while this is being applied, that will fill up
pores again. If there is the necessity for making the skin
more smooth, then use magnesia - or cornstarch AND magnesia,
which is the better for ANY skin. Or, when there is more
preference to use the talc, or powder, use the pure talc with
magnesia and balsam of tolu in same - or ZINC and tolu in
same.
(Q) How often should these applications be made?
(A) Every other day should be sufficient.
(Q) How long should they be kept up?
(A) Until these conditions disappear. The Rochelle salts
would be taken in small doses (not large) each morning for
five mornings, then rest three days and take for five
mornings again. These conditions in system should disappear.
As we find, the applications on the feet for the first three
days will be rather severe - then these will gradually
disappear, if these are applied each evening.
(Q) What would be considered a small dose of Rochelle salts
for this body?
(A) Quarter teaspoonful.
Do not eat too many sweets. No fats; unless vegetable fats.
(Q) Any other advice for this body?
(A) Do this in the present.
We are through with this reading.

10/21/35 She was present for her next Ck. Physical,

9/25/46 Florence Ohle's letter; just after having read THERE
IS A RIVER: "I have a wart on my left temple in the hair
line and I have been putting Spirits of Camphor and Baking
Soda on it and it is drying up. Thanks."
12/09/58 Mrs. L. E. Bradbury (5280 Stacy St., West Palm Beach,
Fla.) wrote: "The book on Edgar Cayce gave Spirits of
Camphor for warts, moles, corns. My poor music teacher had
a wart on her face. It was getting so big it pushed her
glasses out. I told her about this. She used it and it's
gone. She sends her grateful thanks for saving her $50 she
did not have."
3/13/66 Letter from Charles T. Frey, M.D., Cedaredge,
Colorado 81413: "I have tried the spirits of camphor and
baking soda for plantar warts with some, but not invariable
success. It is safe and simple, however, and can be done
inexpensively at home."
10/07/66 Mrs. Athlyn Kostamo wrote from 15153 Dasher, Allen
Park, Mich: "In the book about your father by Mr. Sugrue,
THERE IS A RIVER, a mixture for the relief of plantar's warts
is given. I work here in the Post Office, on my feet, and I
suffered from plantar's warts, which are on the bottom of the
feet and very painful. There is no known cure medically and
they are treated by surgery or acid or electric needle, all
of which are painful. I had mine removed once by surgery but
they came right back. I tried the mixture Edgar Cayce gave
to this woman, and they became immediately less painful and
disappeared completely in a short time. It was a miracle, of
course, as is all your father's work."
7/24/67 Mrs. Wm. E. (Gwen J.) Burke, 211 E. Main St.,
Jonesboro, TN, 37659: "In THERE IS A RIVER I read one of
Cayce's remedies for warts on the feet. Slnce both my older
boys had very painful warts on the soles of their feet at
that time, we tried Cayce's suggestion about a paste of soda
and Spirits of Camphor. After only three applications the
warts turned dark and dropped out, leaving a neat, clean hole
which promptly healed."
9/04/70 Mrs. Sophie Peters, 1521 Pennsylvania Ave., Windsor,
Ill. 61957: "I used Mr. Cayce's formula for warts with
complete success. My daughter, nine years old, had two small
warts forming on the bottom of foot. The doctor gave me a
perscription to use, and when using it much of her skin came
off but not the warts - also they had now spread to eight.
I came across Mr. Cayce's formula, spirits of camphor and
baking soda, and applied as he said each evening (I then
covered her foot with a thick stretchable sock to keep the
paste intact) and in approximately two weeks, the warts
literally dried-up and fell off. There is not a trace of
them and none have returned."
