This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 23rd day of February, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1158] through Associate Membership of her husband in the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: We have the records here of that entity now known as or called [1158] and the experiences of the entity in the earth's plane as Irene Iradell; and that as has been given in relationships to these.
2. As has been so oft indicated, the interpretation of the records of the book of remembrance is given with the intent to become helpful and not confusing.
3. So oft is there the inclination, then, for one to lose self in the personalities of individual associations, losing sight of the individual and individuality of the soul's activity through sojourns.
4. As has been indicated for the entity, that being experienced and that upon which the greater development in the present experience for this soul-entity lies is in those interpretations and experiences by the individual and personal contacts of the Palestine period.
5. But to the interpretation then of the experience of this entity as Irene Iradell:
6. There the entity's sojourn materially came about under those periods when there were settlings of the land of the present nativity, or that as ye call western Pennsylvania and Ohio.
7. In the environs the entity was associated with one who (as an acquaintance in the present but then as the entity's father) made a study of the peoples and the manners of healings in that experience, or their associations with things of nature; herbs and the like.
8. The entity's particular interest, as has been indicated, was in teaching, instructing; as a helpful influence not only among those settlers who went through the trying periods but among the natives.
9. And the greatest influence to the entity in the present from that period is that of tolerance to tenets, beliefs, races; and rather that tendency for democratic principles.
10. The entity's sojourn in the earth during the experience remained as Irene Iradell. Though there were associations in marriage, these names to the entity then meant the holding to the greater environ and remaining therein.
11. As to the companion, this was an entity who has been known to the entity in the present; and a feeling of repulsion as well as of close association - or as would be termed in thy parlance, there has even been the experience of being engaged to that individual.
12. As to the children or to those dependent, these - or one, two - are of thy own household though not the children of the entity or soul from the physical.
13. These were the conditions as we find.
14. Hardships, if they would be called such, though they brought many experiences that were both good and bad.
15. Hence as has been given, the greater experience of the entity is from the Palestine sojourn. For in the sojourn as Irene Iradell, as just indicated, there were not activities towards definite purpose for constructive sake as much as for convenience sake. These are not always compatible to that of soul development, yet with the attempts of the will to be one with Creative Forces it is from the mental or soul angle expressed in, "When ye call, I will hear!" And this is the same as is meant by that so oft in some parlance, "Believe, if ye will be forgiven."

17. (Q) Was the entity now known as Dr. H. R. Charlton, my father in that incarnation?
    (A) As has been given, rather as a brother association; but the greater association came with that of the Palestine experience, when he acted in the capacity then more as the father - or fatherly.
18. (Q) If not my father, what was meant by the answer to my questioning whether or not the physician who was my father in that period was known to me today, "Known to the entity in this very experience of Charlton."
    (A) Known to the entity, but as has been indicated, in a close association but not as father; while the one who was the father then is now also in the capacity of a physician - as Charlton.
19. (Q) Did that mean Dr. [1334] was my father in that period and would be known to me in a physician's experience the same as Charlton?
    (A) As has been given.
20. (Q) Did I have brothers and sisters, and are they known to me in the present life, and by what names?
    (A) Brothers and sisters in the experience. Some are known, some are not known. Remember, these associations are rather as has been indicated. They become associated relatively by the desires of help in a constructive manner. These as indicated are known. As to their names, this would require the searching of many records not available from the entity's record here.
21. (Q) Did I marry, and was the entity then my husband known to me in the present?
    (A) As has been indicated. The entity's associations were what would be termed marriage, but remained in the name Iradell; but not an Iradell man that was in the capacity of the husband.
22. (Q) Did I have children and are they known to me today?
    (A) As has been indicated and as has been given, of the household but not as the children.
23. (Q) Was the entity then my mother known to me today?
    (A) Known, but not the associations as mother or of the household. Rather then as an entity to whom the entity or body of the experience counselled.
24. (Q) Any further advice regarding this experience?
    (A) As has been first indicated, use that given constructively, not confusedly.
