This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of April, 1926, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1187].

Present: Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.

TEXT

1. GC: You will have before you Mrs. [1187], of ... St., ..., Ala., and you will continue with the physical reading begun on this body yesterday afternoon, April 1, 1926. You will speak SLOWLY and distinctly.
2. EC: These, we find, are under the subjugation much of the physical conditions as exist in the system. Hence, various organs are involved at the various periods, or cycle of changed functioning. Then, too, we find that the worry, and the mental attitude of the body at certain periods, brings the stress on the nerve centers that are involved. This, then, INCREASING the nerve strain in the lumbar and lower dorsal, gives an exaggerated effect to the brachial and the lower ganglion of the cardiac. This is that increased pulsation and heart's action; NOT an organic condition in heart; not an ENLARGED heart; not a high blood pressure, in the sense of the deranged heart action, but that of the NERVE relaxation over-powering, as it were, this reaction.
3. Then, to bring the normal conditions for this body, we would through this means:
4. First the body should take, as a laxative, this: This in each dose, and at least three doses taken.

   Podophyllum..................1/2 grain,
Leptandrin...................1/2 grain,
Cascara Sagrada................1 grain,
Sanguinaria..................1/2 grain,
Powdered, or
Pulverized Saffron...........1/2 grain.

5. After the third dose is taken (and these should be taken every day, or in evening, see, until the three are taken), the intestinal system should be flushed with plain phosphate of soda, taken early of morning, see, for at least two to three days, see - half a teaspoonful in three-quarters of a glass of water, and add to this three to five drops of Syrup of Sarsaparilla, and ONE drop of Oil of Turp, or Canadian Balsam, see? This Canadian Balsam or Oil of Turp add to only the LAST two, see, as taken - that is, only take two doses of this with six doses of the phosphate, but add the Syrup of Sarsaparilla to each.
6. Then, for that condition, those conditions in the cerebrospinal system, we would use those vibrations as are found in the electrically driven vibrator, that these may adjust or correct those incentives along the cerebrospinal system, for, as we see, these are not as misplacements, so much as of needing that vibration that will enliven each ganglion, each segment, to its naive activity, or NORMAL activity, and with the cleansed system, with the strain removed from blood, with the correction in the vibratory force of the nerve system, we will find these pressures, these conditions in head, these dizziness, these feelings of blood flowing to head, relieved. Then, do that, see?
7. (Q) How often should the vibratory forces be applied, and for how long a time?
   (A) These may be applied once each day, for ten to fifteen minutes, along the cerebrospinal system - that is, the WHOLE LENGTH OF THE SPINE, and should be next to the skin itself, see. Or, they may be applied three to four minutes, two to three times a day; for this will make the body REST, and gain an equilibrium, see?
8. (Q) How long should THIS be?
   (A) Whenever needed; for this will be as new life to the whole body, see?
9. (Q) What should the diet be?
   (A) This has been outlined much for the body. Follow that. The body is a very good dietician - very good cook. Not too much greases, but everything cooked well.

REPORTS

1. 5/11/26 Letter - see under 1187-2 Life Reading Reports - indicates how much she has been helped by reading [1187-4]; that she knows she would have been helped more if she could have gotten the electrically driven vibrator sooner. "I am using it now and have had such restful nights since I first began using it."
2. 1/14/27 She referred Mrs. [4339] for first Physical Reading.
3. 6/13/28 Daughter, Miss [288] ordered the prescription refilled that was given in above reading [1187-4], saying "My mother isn't well."
4. 1/21/35 Daughter [199]'s letter: "Mama's been in bed with her stomach all week... Our diet has been awful lately from sheer necessity. I think that was the beginning of her trouble. Too much bread and constipation."
5. 6/05/36 Ten years after the reading [1187-4], while visiting her son [391] and his wife [934] in Va., Mrs. [1187] suffered a paralytic stroke. See 1187-5 and subsequent readings.
