PERSONAL
Mr. Edgar Cayce,
Virginia Beach, Va.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I received your kind letter, also the reading, and wish to
thank you for both. I enclose money order for $5.00, half
payment for the reading. I shall send the other $5.00 later.
I hope this is agreeable.
I do not seem to get much better, but I keep on praying.
Perhaps God is giving me this chastening for a purpose.
Things have gone all wrong for me for some years. I try to
live right, have always done that.
I had a dream some nights ago, started to write you about
it, also about another, but just have not had time I can
truthfully say that each was somewhat more than a dream, as I
was partly awake and therefore able to recall each one rather
accurately, and, in addition, the mental vision, in each
case, was very clear. I shall recite both to you:
DREAM NO. 1. There appeared the face and head of a dark
haired, dark eyed man, with ears more conspicuous than one
usually sees. His face and forehead showed signs of deep
thinking, of unusual intelligence, and indicated great
physical strength. His hair was rather short cut. The man
seemed to have the attitude of wanting to say something to
me, to give me some advice, and I had a very clear vision of
him, then it all disappeared.
DREAM NO. 2. I was in Egypt. We were all in a long stone
corridor, and it was the day of interment of the body,
mummified, of a man. It had been six months that the body,
so mummified, had lain there in the stone hall or corridor.
There had been during all that time great rejoicing on the
part of his kin and friends, but the dream said that as soon
as the body had been interred in the grave the rejoicing
should end and sorrow obtain; that it was the Egyptian
custom, since when the body became a part of the grave the
soul then departed.
I am, of course, at a loss to understand the two dreams. Do
you get anything out of them?
With love to all, I am
Sincerely yours, [

Dear Mr. [
1196];-
Thanks for yours of 2nd with enclosure. Sure handle your
contribution as you see fit. Not that we are flushed, but if
this is real it is according to the dictates of the conscious
of the receiver. Thanks for the money order do hope you will
soon be feeling a whole lot better. You will have just to
get hold of yourself. Know that HE is life and health, and
that as he uses you that is best. Just do the very best you
know in every way and do not try to make results. For all
increase comes from God. He knows best, will we leave our
selves in his hands. Then the best comes to us, not as
worldly best no, but as mental and spiritual.
The dreams are very interesting, don't know as I am much good
at giving the meaning when awake, but to me these would seem
to import this. The 1st:
The face head, and especially the large ears, would indicate
the news for you that was of a deep nature, but that with the
hearing would bring you strength or that you would be able to
use same for your own strength. His being unable to make you
perceive would be you own self blocking the way. Short hair
indicates all this would be shortly or very soon.
2nd: Egypt - of course is usually indication of wisdom -
especially ancient Egypt. Instead of it being an interment -
would indicate a resurrection of ancient wisdom that you
would have something to do with, and with its knowledge
rejoicing by the many that is what the (it?) means to me.
Dreams are experience of the mind - and if studied may help a
lot. Best way is for one to interpret them for themselves.
Do it his way. Write it out as here and studying over, reach
a decision as to its meaning. Let your mental self answer
yes or NO. Then meditate upon same. PRAY - and an answer
will come inwardly as to whether you have the right meaning
or not. Try this and after a few times you will find
something very interesting. When you have the meaning of a
dream write it out, but put it away for a few days, or until
something within tells you to look it over or you have been
told something about same in another dream. A dream as an
experience is usually had thrice, as were those of Pharaoh
and Joseph and Jacob. Man's nature is not different, only
the mental approach to such. God is not changed, neither is
the nature of man.
But hope this helps. Let me hear from you often. You must
get lots and lots better, and you can and will.
With love to you and Mrs. [...] from all here.
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce

Dear Mr. Cayce:
I have not made much progress since my readings. Will you
please set another date, with hours, for another reading on
my physical condition, and in that reading seek your source
of information for another diagnosis and treatment complete -
just as if I had not had previous readings? The doctor here
says he finds nothing wrong with my gall bladder or gall
duct; says that my colon is the whole trouble. I suffer
quite a lot just in the way your first physical reading
stated, that is, as to symptoms. I took quite a number of
treatments from Mrs. Stone, the neuropath, but they did not
help me much. I must get well. My wife is devoted to me
and I am to her - I can't afford to break down. This morning
I got up quite sore and stiff, also dizzy.
Please arrange, in this new reading, to have your source of
information review my case since first reading. Just what I
meant by "just as if I had not had previous readings," as you
may imagine, is that I want a complete new reading as to what
is the trouble and the proper treatment, briefly but
thoroughly explained. Kindly ask the following questions:
What caused the conditions present at this time?
Is there any thing I am doing that hurts me and prevents
getting back to normal?
What causes the extreme soreness, particularly every morning
when I get up, also the dizziness?
Are colonic irrigations good for me and are they in any way
injurious if long continued?
Why do I get so sleepy early at night on most nights?
Why do my legs seem to bind me; that is, why do they get so
sore and stiff?
What causes the aching in small of back?
What diet should I follow?
Yours sincerely, [
