This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 30th day of March, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1196], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1196].
2. As we find, while conditions are not wholly satisfactory, there is not the consistency in the application of the suggestions that have been indicated for the body.
3. To be sure, as indicated, there is the disturbance where there is improper coordination between the hepatic circulation; that is, those inclinations for the activity of the gall duct, as coordinant with the excretory functionings and the secretive functionings of the liver for proper assimilation and proper digestion, to make for a very poor or very slow activity through the alimentary canal at times.
4. Also there is a disturbance at times in the hepatics as related to the activity of the kidneys and the eliminations through the bladder, and an irritation to the glandular forces as make for a great nerve reaction on the system.
5. There should be proper consistency, then, in first the diets - as has been indicated. While these have at times been very good, at others there has not been the proper consideration given - but a breaking over from some of the combinations that have been given.
6. There has not been the full consistency in taking the vibrations from the Radio-Active influences. The plates should be kept clean. The Appliance should be prepared in the manner as has been given; that is, ten to fifteen minutes before being applied to the body; and do not allow the water to come over the top of the Appliance. The attachments should be firm, but not so tight as to cause a pressure of such nature as to hinder the circulatory forces.
7. The adjustments should be had rather as has been indicated. These should be taken twice a week for two to three weeks, then left off a week and then begun again, taken for two to three weeks and left off again, and then continued again. These taken in this manner WILL make for much better conditions!
8. Also we find, where there are the disturbances in the eliminations through the alimentary canal, the use of enemas rather than too much of cathartics would be well. If these are taken EVERY DAY for a week, if taken properly, it will not be harmful nor irritating. They are disturbing, to be sure, but these taken will make for a better reaction; and for this body they should be not too hot but body temperature, and with the salines as has been indicated. These will be found to be helpful. Not that we are giving to take an enema every day, but if it is necessary - owing to the scant eliminations or the tendency for gas accumulations - then take one every day! But one may be taken every day, it may be taken once a week, it may be taken once a month, it may be taken every other day or every third day - but be consistent in seeing that there are the proper eliminations!
9. Do not use too much of any sedative, for this has the natural tendency to clog the digestive system.
10. These things kept consistently, we should find a great deal better condition.
11. It will be helpful to take a heaping teaspoonful of Eno Salts in a glass of water every morning for ten days, then leave off for a week or three to four days, and then begin again.
12. But if the eliminations are such as to require a more severe laxative, then use those properties as we have indicated - the Zilatone with the Phospho-Soda. But keep the eliminations until we can change the circulatory forces by the stimulation to the nerve centers along the spinal system that have to do with the circulation through the whole of the alimentary canal.
13. These we find to be the better conditions for this body, [1196].

15. (Q) What causes the bladder disturbance?
    (A) A natural irritation in the glandular forces - the prostates. Hence the use of enemas is helpful, if these are given properly.
    Or if a colon tube is used so it does not pour the water out but dilates, with the very hot water in the rectum, you see, as far as it may be placed, or to the 2nd or 3rd sphincter muscle, or about four or five inches, it will be helpful. Let the water be just as hot as the body can stand it, you see; not that it goes into the body loose, you see, but within the rubber tube, tied, see? This will relieve this hurting.
    But if the eliminations, the gall duct area, the activity of the upper hepatic circulation, are brought to a better condition, the disturbance in the glandular forces will not be so severe.
16. (Q) What causes the stiffness up along my back, lower part of spine to near shoulder blades, with soreness in the same area?
    (A) As has been indicated, it is from poisons. Hence the need of the muscular reaction by the manipulative forces.
17. (Q) What causes my breath to become so short?
    (A) Poisons and pressures from the poisons in the system. Hence the eliminations are to be kept increased.
18. (Q) I have, within past day or two, consulted a doctor, who says my trouble is systemic poisoning, not a blood disease, and that it came to me through inheritance. What does your source of information think about this?
    (A) As has been described, it is a systemic condition - but not necessarily inherited condition; and we do not find it so.
    If those vibrations are kept that are to make for an equalization, and those of the manipulative and mechanical vibratory nature, as well as the other conditions that have been indicated, we should find bettered conditions for this body.
19. (Q) Is food cooked in aluminum utensils bad for this system?
    (A) Certain characters of food cooked in aluminum are bad for ANY system, and where a systemic condition exists - or a disturbed hepatic circulation or assimilating force, a disturbed hepatic eliminating force - they are naturally so. Cook rather in granite, or better still in Patapar Paper.
20. (Q) If I follow treatment you outline, do you think I can get entirely well?
    (A) This depends entirely upon the attitude the body assumes towards same.
    As the body has experienced through many of its experiences, when you work towards a thing you do not allow little disturbing factors or a continual changing to this form or that form to interfere. Be sure you are on the right road, then go ahead - to that which will bring health, if properly applied. Know that all healing forces must be within, NOT without! The applications from without are to create within a coordinating mental and spiritual force. Set the mind to believe in SOMETHING, and let that be creative - and as we find, and as we have indicated, it must be of a spiritual nature.
    Then, let the meditative forces or the prayer be, when applying the Radio-Active Appliance each day:
    FATHER, GOD, I AM THINE IN BODY, IN MIND, IN PURPOSE, IN DESIRE. USE ME IN THOSE WAYS, IN THOSE MANNERS THAT THY KINGDOM, THY DIVINE LOVE MAY BE SHED ABROAD; USING ME IN SUCH WAYS THAT I MAY BE THE BETTER CHANNEL FOR THE DEMONSTRATION OF THY DIVINE LOVE AS THOU HAST SHOWN IN JESUS, THE CHRIST.

1. 4/10/37 Letter: I have just found time to acknowledge receipt of the last reading you so kindly made on my health, and I want you to know how much I appreciate it. You asked in your letter what I thought about it, etc.
   Your readings have always been accurate as to my symptoms, but, and I am sorry to say so, I have not gotten relief by taking treatments given in them. Perhaps it has not been the time for me to get well, and I am trusting for God to yet provide the time and the means. I want to ask you to pray for me. Quite recently I have been under a doctor and I think I am making a little progress. I shall advise you later on how I come out.
