10/13/38 [
1196]'s ltr. to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce,
Thank you so much for your letter of the 11th., also for
placing my name on the prayer list. I did not receive the
affirmation. Will you please have it sent to me and
subsequent ones?
Your kind offer to check up on my physical condition is so
much appreciated. I am not well at all, as I wrote you.
The readings (the last one, especially, dated May 31, 1938)
have always - in my opinion - pointed out the trouble,
that of poor hepatic circulation, liver, prostate, toxic
conditions, etc., but the treatment did not seem to help.
The doctor here says it is my liver, faulty elimination,
toxic condition, but notwithstanding he prescribed zilatone
tablets (or caroid and bile tablets - which are practically
zilatone tablets) and I took them, I did not profit by so
doing. Mrs. Stone, neuropath, and Dr. Smith [S. P. Smith,
D.C.], chiropractor, of this city, agree that your readings
are correct. You know Dr. Stone. The past week I have been
quite weak but have to keep on the job. My Bro. got me
$3600.00 in debt, and I have had a long, hard struggle
paying out. Now owe around $600.00. Neither he nor his
son, the latter 47 and with a good position, will help a
dime. Why is it that people like me who suffer for others
have to suffer physically as I do? It certainly seems that
good should come my way. Will you please telegraph me, at
my expense, an appointment for your recheck on my condition,
giving time of your locality, which is Eastern Standard, and
date? I certainly hope the reading will locate the exact
trouble and furnish the remedy. I shall then wire you
confirmation of the appointment, or if the hour and date
conflict with some imperative duty I shall wire you.
