This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 10th day of March, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1196], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes.
3. As we find, these last few days have been rather the cycle of the recurrent disturbances in the general physical forces of this body. A great deal arises, as we have indicated, from the mental attitude of the body. This should be kept more in a constructive manner, in that it is - the entity itself - a part of all that has been and is about the body; and there is needs be the realization that such activities have been and are for the spiritual development for the entity itself.
4. The attitudes, then, should be such that there is NO feeling of resentments, - but a forgiving, loving expression towards ALL about the body - in EVERY form and manner.
5. As to those disturbances through the digestive forces, and especially through the prostate glands that have caused such disturbance, - if there would be the use of those forms of application in the manner of the hot water through the Elliott Machine, these conditions would disappear.
6. When there is the close adherence to the diets as indicated, and the keeping of the eliminations in the manners as we have so oft outlined, we find that the conditions show improvement.
7. And these as we find in the present we would do.
8. And if there would be each week a Turkish Bath, or oftener, - with a full or complete application or use of same, - it would be MOST helpful; not so extreme in the steam applications as to weaken the body, but water and fume baths, or the dry heat baths, would be most excellent.
9. And if the body will do these, and keep the mental attitude, and change to those activities as indicated in the use of the Elliott Machine, we would find real help for this body.

11. (Q) What causes weakness in knees, hips and ankles?
    (A) Accumulations of poisons through the system by the lack of the proper elimination, and the building in the mental attitudes of congested forces throughout the system.
    These become as contributory then one to another. Hence the application of those suggestions indicated.
12. (Q) In the lower part of back near end of spine?
    (A) Just as indicated.
13. (Q) What causes extreme inward nervousness, sometimes manifesting outwardly?
    (A) Poisons or toxic forces from lack of the proper eliminations and coordination of eliminating forces in the system.
    Hence the stirring of the superficial circulation by the use of such Baths as indicated, and the massage and rubs that go with same.
14. (Q) Should I continue taking Prontolin tablets as prescribed by Dr. A. H. Montgomery of ..., Ala.?
    (A) If so desired, and it's needed for the eliminating forces of the system.
15. (Q) Why do I get short of breath after walking two or three blocks?
    (A) Pressures on the upper portion of the transverse colon, upon the circulatory forces. Hence the needs to have those characters of applications as we have just indicated.
16. (Q) What causes soreness lower part of abdomen in the pelvic region, mostly early in the morning before I get up and urinate?
    (A) As indicated, a portion of the eliminating forces and the disturbance as created by such irritation in the prostate forces.
17. (Q) I get sleepy too early at night. What causes that?
    (A) Toxic forces.
18. (Q) Is any symptom I have one of syphilis or of locomotor ataxia?
    (A) Only those that are of the mental and not of the physical at all.

1. 3/17/39 [1196]'s ltr. to EC:
   Dear Mr. Cayce:
   The reading was received, for which accept my deepest thanks, and your letter of the 13th inst.
   I started the treatment; bought a prostate machine on the hot water principle like the Elliott machine; have been using it, and really - in so short a time - feel better. I shall closely follow this treatment, also the rest of the instructions. The Elliott machine is an extremely costly one, but the device I have is the same principle, so I can make out with it. I have lost the reading preceding the last, so please ask Miss Davis to make me a copy, as it connects with the last reading. One of the fine days to come I will send you some money. Have mortgage to meet on my wife's home. I have been having a terrific struggle, with wife in ill health, sciatica, a year. She is about free of it now, thank God.
   We have not had any meetings lately, but I have felt bad. I intend to keep you posted. There is no doubt at all in my mind that we never die - we get such proof from the other side.
