This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of March, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1196], Associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

TEXT

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1196]; this we have had before.
3. As we find, there are changes in the general physical forces of the body since last we had same here. Some show improvement. Others show the general deteriorations that naturally come with the body-forces when not supplied with the elements of recuperation.
4. But these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1196] we are speaking of, present in this room:
5. In the blood supply we find there is the indication of a poor elimination at times. Thus there are those tendencies for excess of toxic forces through the body. These at such times, or at times, produce the upsetting of the balance in the metabolism of the body. Thus there is caused weakness, lack of endurance, a bit of upsetting as to the digestion, and nervous irritations. If there are the attempts to increase the eliminations these after a time will pass off. Still, the deteriorating effects of poisons in body - and the toxic conditions produced by a disturbance in the liver and the gall duct - have their effect in the general debilitation that goes on.
6. Again we find there are those periods when there is the upsetting of the balance in the chemical forces, in the eliminations as related to the kidneys, or the coordinating between the liver and the kidneys. And at such times the prostates cause disturbances to the body.
7. If there is the change in the diet sufficient, leaving off sufficient sugars, or if there is an increasing of the activities of nitre through the body - in the diet or through the stimulated supply, - these, too, gradually give way.
8. Then, too, these leave the body-energies that cause the drosses, and these find their reflex through the circulation - in the itching in portions of the body, irritating to the superficial circulation, and the tiredness in the limbs and through the body-forces.
9. These, as we find, are the disturbances in the body in the present.
10. The reflex conditions cause the organs of the sensory system, - as the eyes, hearing, taste, smell, - to become supersensitive, or to gradually appear as deteriorating. This may be expected.
11. In the general applications, then, that will be effective, all of these things must be taken into consideration. Not, of course, that there is as quick response to those applications that may be made as when the body was much younger in years, when the glandular forces were more active in their response to exercise and the like. But if there is a system, or a systematic application of these suggestions, we will find that help will come to the body.
12. First, - we would use the body-force of the electrical treatments; as from the Radio-Active Appliance. Use this for a period of five to ten days at a time, then leave off for a week.
13. During that week it is left off, however, at least twice during the week have - when ready to retire, after the bath has been taken - the application of the violet ray; this to be along the spine, over the arms, shoulders, and over the limbs. Use the bulb applicator for this, but not turned on too high. This will give the "pick up" or the stimulation that is needed for what might be called the recharging of the centers along the cerebrospinal system, so that there is better coordination between the ganglia of the cerebrospinal and the sympathetic nerve system.
14. Occasionally, - once in a week, again it may be ten days or the like, or a little farther off, - do have a thorough Swedish Massage; this including the hydrotherapy treatment. This would include, then, a light sweat, taking in consideration the pulsation. Do not have too great an irritation, or too great an amount of dry heat; more the wet heat. Use a light sweat and then the hot and cold showers, as the needle spray, followed with a thorough rubdown and a massage especially with an equal combination of Peanut Oil and Olive Oil; with a rub alcohol rub afterward.
15. Be mindful that these are taken sufficiently often to keep the superficial activities of the body.
16. Also be mindful of the eliminations. Do not take the same cathartics or laxatives regularly. One or two times take the vegetable compounds only. Then at other periods take only the mineral salts and the like. Or, take for a period of four to five days each morning, before the meal is taken, a teaspoonful of ENO Salts in a glass of water. Do this regularly for five days. It will not be necessary then to take it for maybe two weeks or three weeks.
17. Then when taking the next laxative, take of evening a glass of Senna Tea - made from the senna leaves. Do this each evening for three to four days. And then it will not be necessary for some time.
18. But do keep up regularly the use of the Radio-Active Appliance for two to three weeks, and rest a week - during which rest period the violet ray would be used.
19. During those three weeks, at least have two or three of the hydrotherapy.
20. Watch the diet. Keep away from sweets and combinations of starches, and we will find we will build up and find better conditions for this body.
21. Ready for questions.
22. (Q) What is causing the pouchy condition, very pronounced at times, in my abdomen?
    (A) As indicated, the incoordinations between the liver and kidney circulation. Thus the applications not only of the type eliminants suggested but the necessity for the variation in the type of electrical energies and the revivifying by the hydrotherapy treatments and massage.
23. (Q) What causes the aching at times from my toes to the top of my head?
    (A) Poisons in system. These toxic conditions that are left from the inactivity in the liver; at others it is from the disturbance between liver and kidneys. And the character of applications suggested will give help. Do it.
24. (Q) Do you find any soft or hard gallstones?
    (A) Neither. There is a sediment, but not stones. If these applications are made, not only the condition in the gall duct area but that which gives the disturbance to the prostates will be aided and helped also.
    Do be consistent with it, and give it the opportunity for helping the body.

2. [Questions submitted]: 1. What is causing the pouchy condition, very pronounced at times, in my abdomen? (When in such condition, and I am walking, I get a very intense soreness just beneath the right ribs near the center of the body, and a shortness of breath so that I have to stop and become easier.)
   2. What causes the aching at times from my toes to the top of my head? (I do not have headaches, sore throat, nor fever at any time, but this soreness. I imagine the same condition related in the first question is causing this trouble.)

   Well, I am in trouble again.
   The sinuses in my nostrils are leaking considerable mucus into my mouth, throat and stomach. No sinus aches or pains.
   The mucus has upset my stomach. I have no appetite, and have lost 14 lbs. I am weak, particularly in the legs. The condition has caused my gums to get tender, and I can't wear my false dentures. My tongue stays heavily coated, which the doctor says is due to the mucus leaking down on it [due to my spastic descending colon].
   Please give me the benefit of readings on such a trouble. Also ask the prayer group to help me.
   We have had so much illness in the family for over a year that I am broke.
