1/09/37 EC's ltr. to Miss [
1201]:
Dear Miss [
1201] [EC used her given name]
Thank you for yours of day or so ago, would be lovely for
you to come to the Beach and for us to get really acquainted
with you. But have to say Miss [
1201] we are not situated
so we can have any one in our home. First we haven't the
room, then Mrs. Cayce does all her own work and is the one
who is with me at each reading, that takes all her time and
often wonder how she does all she had to do. But we have
a neighbor with whom you might stay if you preferred to stay
in a home, they are only a short distance or block or little
better away. Many of our friends have stayed there, and make
it their regular stopping place when they come. It is not
expensive ten or twelve dollars per week meals and all, or
there are some of the small hotels open. They, I think, run
about 15 to 20 per week this time of year.
Have since the first letter from your mother wanted to meet
you good people, and would be wonderful if you will come down
and some time we may have the pleasure of having your Mother
here also. Wish it were possible for us to have you here but
you will see how it is when you come, we have office and all
here, and that takes up room, and we haven't enough as it is.
We have to let Miss Barkley [Miss Lillian Barclay] know when
you come, so if that arrangement would suit you, let us know
am sure you would like it there.
Looking forward to seeing you soon then
With good wishes
Sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce
GD's note: We heard nothing further from Mrs. [
1201] or her
mother until
7/15/63 when Mrs. [
1258] renewed her Sponsoring
Membership in A.R.E.
