8/01/53 Dr. [
1125]'s reply: "...Yes, there were some
differences in Mr. [
1205]'s records. When we tried to get
his birth certificate we could not locate it at first. The
name originally was [
1205] and his birth certificate had
been made out as [
1205]... Also Mr. [
1205] had always
thought his birthday was June 26, 1898. The birth record
made out by the doctor was June 25th. We thought from that,
that perhaps he had been born near twelve o'clock. As Mr.
[
1205] had gone into the army in World War I as [
1205], born
June 26, 1898, he had to make a statement to the government
that he was the same person as the birth certificate gave
record for. As we had been married under the name [
1205] and
our son [
1123]'s records were under the name [
1205], we have
left it that way. We didn't know what else to do and the
U.S. Government has it on file that way.
"You are very observing to have noticed this. I have been
sorry that I did not have your father give me a reading as to
what relationship we had all been before.
"I tried to help Mr. [
1205], but I did not do a very good job
of it some way. If we had only had a better
understanding..."
