Edgar Cayce Readings, 1208-12

(Physical Suggestion)

TEXT

EC: (In repeating the address and just before locating body, "That's a bad A!") [Referring to Apt.#, etc.?]
[1208] - Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.
As we find, there is cold, congestion from superacidity in the system - and from poor circulation and digestion.
For the head and face, we would put a little pure White Vaseline in the nostrils - letting the body-temperature dissolve same. Not much; not enough to cause too great a disturbance, but sufficient to lubricate or oil the mucous membranes through same; and massage over those places under the eye - as the lower antrums, just above the eyes, across the upper portion of the soft tissue there.
Massage the abdomen and especially across the liver, spleen and colon with the equal combination of the Mutton Suet, Turpentine and Camphor - putting a warm flannel over same.
In the matter of the diet - this must be kept rather close in the manners as has been indicated for the body.
Give all the citrus fruit juice - orange and grapefruit juice (fresh) - that the body will drink. With half a glass of orange juice be sure there is at least a teaspoonful of lemon juice in same.
Use a little more limewater, either in the milk or separately - with a little cinnamon water combined. These - a teaspoonful of each in a tablespoonful of water - this for the stomach's sake. Give this once or twice a day.
Also give two or three drops of Glyco-Thymoline once or twice a day.
It is well to give the body an enema to cleanse the colon. Just body-temperature water is the preferable solution for such, though if necessary there may be used a little Glyco-Thymoline in the last water given. Use only the baby syringe, of course, for such an enema.
Then in the foods we would keep the citrus fruit juices, vegetables; very crisp bacon with the yolk of an egg; milk this preferably the Dry Milk now, or those combinations of the milk that has been used; with Zwieback and the like.
DO NOT give too much sugars! THESE are what have upset the whole of the digestive system!
Do that.
Ready for questions.
(Q) Should he have only the Gerber vegetables still?
(A) The Gerber are the better YET for the body.
(Q) Why do his ears itch way deep inside, and sort of creak at times?
(A) These are from the mucous membranes; that's why the Oil has been given! See, these connect directly with the Eustachian tubes that come to the balance of the ear. Grease behind the ears very well with the Vaseline.
(Q) Is is all right to take him in the open when it is cold, if he is wrapped up good?
(A) Only when there is good, bright sunshine.
(Q) Was the high temperature recently caused from his stomach?
(A) Stomach!
(Q) Are there still traces of the old infection in his system?
(A) Still traces in the system.
(Q) How may it be eliminated entirely?
(A) As only a growth, and the increase of the supply of the blood forces that destroy same - and eliminate same through the system.
(Q) Should any more Castoria be given now?
(A) This is to be kept, to be sure, so long as there is cold and congestion.
We are through for the present.

BACKGROUND

See 1208-11 on 9/25/37.
1/03/38 Baby took cold from exposure, wrong diet, etc., when parents took him to Ohio for Xmas, driving thru in car. Had high temperature. Last night we started on same treatment given in rdgs. early last fall when he almost had pneumonia; fever somewhat allayed this a.m. but still mighty sick.

REPORTS

GD's note: Several days later the mother [934] & aunt [288] reported that they had used the fumes & rubs as indicated & that the baby had gotten all right - another miracle. She indicated they were still using variations of this Carnation Milk physician's formula for baby 1 yr. old: 1 can Carnation Milk, same quantity of boiled water, or more, according to age and digestibility of baby; 3 tablespoonfuls Lime Water; 3 tablespoonfuls Karo.
