This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of June, 1936, in accordance with request made by the wife - Mrs. [...], new Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [1196].

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, as we find, conditions are well advanced. And there are rather serious disturbances with the body. These are such that the organs are involved as well as the effects produced by the attempts of other organs to assume their normal functioning, or to function under those disorders that arise from the disturbances in the lower hepatic circulation.
2. These as we find may aid, and would make the body more comfortable. And if there comes response through the close observance of those things as related to the application of helpful influences, and if the assimilating forces of the body respond, we may bring aid.
3. Then, these are conditions as we find them with this body, [1209]:
4. THE BLOOD SUPPLY indicates how that the uremic forces as from the lack of proper elimination through the lower hepatic circulation become rather as poisons for the circulatory forces in those connections between the deep circulation and the superficial. Hence the swellings or the accumulations through a great lymph circulation attempting to overcome those disturbances as through various portions of the body, especially in the lower portion and through the abdominal area. And while these at times make for a helpful force, these are of themselves hard to be eliminated; hence make for accumulations that become very disturbing to the body.
5. IN THE NERVE FORCES, naturally these conditions making for distresses through the circulatory forces make for pressures in various portions of the body; as in the lumbar area, where - with the association activities of the kidneys between the liver and kidneys - pains are produced in those portions of the body, as throughout the rest; while the very nature of the condition makes for inflammatory forces to the nerve centers themselves.
6. IN THE ORGANS, as we have indicated, we find that between the liver and the kidneys there are the tendencies for the accumulations of these influences - or the edema - as to make for the greater distresses. All of the organs of the body then function under these stresses and strains, for all the organs become more or less involved - as in the circulatory forces between the lungs and the liver, and the liver and the kidneys. These make for very depressing conditions at times upon the heart's activity, and making for a strain on the whole of the system itself.
7. THESE THEN AS WE FIND WOULD BE THOSE APPLICATIONS TO MAKE IN THE PRESENT FOR THE REVITALIZING OF THE BODY FORCES THEMSELVES. And if there are the responses as indicated, we may find that we may bring helpful forces; while in the present these will be rather in the nature of palliative influences for making the body easier and making for the exercising of the revitalizing influences will be as we find helpful.
8. First we would begin with the Animated Ash as would be taken once each day, preferably in the afternoon; one-eighth of a grain, emptied out of capsule and taken dry on tongue, swallowed or washed down with a little water. Following same we would give the violet ray (five to ten minutes after the dosage of Ash has been taken each day); not of a strong vibration, over the upper portion of the body, or over the lung area leading to the digestive forces, front and back, for a minute to a minute and a half - this three to five (not more than ten) minutes after the Animated Ash has been taken.
9. We would begin with the use of the low electrical vibrations as come from the Wet Cell Appliance that would carry into the system the vibrations from the atomic iodine (that is, Atomidine) and the Spirits of Camphor; one given one day, one given the next day. The attachments would be made as follows:

The first day, when using the Atomidine, the small copper plate would be attached first - at the secondary cardiac plexus center, or at the 3rd and 4th dorsal center; while the larger nickel plate, passing through the Atomidine solution, would be attached last - over the lacteal and gall duct area, portion of the umbilicus, to the right side. This to be given for thirty minutes, preferably just when the body has been prepared for rest of an evening. Use the regular strength Atomidine.
11. The next day, when the Spirits of Camphor would be used (double strength) the small anode would be attached first - over the 4th LUMBAR center, and the larger plate - through which the solution is passing - would be attached to the same area as when using the Atomidine.
12. Alternate the applications each day in this manner, using for the same period of time each day.
13. Such application would also be followed each evening by a GENERAL rub. Rub AWAY FROM the body! Preferably such a rub would be given neuropathically, or like the Stone method. [Elise L. Stone, N.D.]
14. We would prepare in this manner a compound to be taken internally:
15. To 2 ounces of Strained Pure Honey (not synthetic, but PURE honey) add 2 ounces of distilled water. Let this come to a boil. Skim. This would be as the carrier, you see. And while warm, not hot, add these properties in the order as they are named - and with each one shake them together in the solution before adding the next, see?

    Tincture of Stillingia....................1/2 ounce,
A fusion or Extract of Wild Ginseng.......1/4 ounce,
An extract or Tincture of Indian Turnip....40 minims,
Tincture, or fusion that is an extract
or tincture, of Buchu Leaves............20 minims,
Elixir of Calisaya........................1/2 ounce.

    The dose of this would be half a teaspoonful three times a day.
16. In the matter of the diet, be mindful that there are little or no sugars - saccharin may be taken for the sweetening of things. Great quantities of starches should not be taken. Vegetable juices and extracts of same combined together may be taken, and beef juice may be made for strengthening the body. Mutton broth or fowl. Any of these should be given in moderation, but not too great a quantity at a time.
    Do these for thirty days and then we would give further instructions.

    (A) A strain that has made for an irritation of the connections and associations between the upper and lower hepatic circulation.

There are 4-5 doctors on the case, and they seem to think Mr. [1209] will not live much longer. I have done, and you have done, all possible, that is at this time. You know how some people are."
2. 7/24/36 "His heart is enlarging very rapidly, I am told. His wife did not let me read the rdg. She has probably been too worried and under too great a strain to see me."
3. 8/14/36 "Mr. [1209] died a few days ago. I do not know, but do not think they ever carried out suggestions in his rdg., but his wife told me the paper agreed with his condition in detail, that it was extremely accurate."
