(Life Reading Suggestion)

EC: This is more Dearborn than Detroit. Yes, it's not such a good one. We have the records here of that entity now known as or called [1221].
In giving the interpretation of these records, the intent and purpose should be for the entity to approach same with the idea, with the ideal of using that which may be helpful in making for soul development.
For only fame or fortune, position or renown, is material; and they that look only for material benefits, or for an easy way, or for an excuse, become as stumblingblocks for themselves.
The purpose of the entrance of each soul is that it may develop towards being as one with, being a companion with Creative Forces or - as commonly called - God. This is the opportunity then in each experience that each soul bears in relationships to those things that offer the opportunity for being a channel, being expression of, toward the fellow man, of that as the entity holds as its relationship to its Creator.
In the astrological, or from those sojourns that are termed astrological, we find one of high mental abilities through the Mercurian, the Martian, the Venus, the Jupiterian and Saturn. All have their influence in the experiences of the entity; each according to the will - and this in the application of that as lies in the abilities of the entity through its sojourns in the earth has used these for woe. These may be used in the present for that as may make amends, as may make for an atonement in the present or an at-onement with Creative Forces. And that should be, that must be that which the entity leaves with each individual for whom, to whom he may give that as is their astrological or astronomical aspects, that have a bearing upon the latent or the material urges of an entity. These are as tests, the urges that arise - and the test is ever that they must be measured by that as is the standard, the ideal of an entity.
For while the mental abilities are high, so is the self importance, so are those influences that make for the entity desiring those urges for position, for fame, for power.
Power in the hands of those that consider not from whom this power arises, this power is given, becomes as a millstone to each and every soul.
So in the application of those abilities, those influences wherein there are the urges for the application of self in these directions, hold fast to an ideal founded not in earthly things, founded not in ONLY mental things but spiritual application of the mental forces, mental abilities, not only of self but in others. And he that is wise considereth the way of the spirit. What be the fruits then of the spirit? What be the motivative forces?
Gentleness, kindness, longsuffering, brotherly love, patience - these be the measuring sticks, these be those influences that must govern each and every activity in the relationships to not only individuals but to opportunities in giving, in aiding, in assisting others that seek for thy understanding.
In those things in Jupiter we find material things coming into the hands of the entity, but let these come aright; let these be the result of efforts - not in advantage of same for self but rather as the result of mercy, of patience, of love shown in thy relationships to others - in the activities of thy hands. For He, the Lord, IS He through whom all increase comes. The greater then the increase, greater thy obligations - not to self but to thy fellow man, to thy being the channel through which the knowledge of truth as is of Him becomes a part of thy message ever to thy fellow man.
As to the appearances in the earth that make for the urges that arise as from the emotional forces of the body itself, or approached through those influences that are known as the sensory forces or through the centers of the bodily functioning itself, there arises the urges from EXPERIENCES in the earth:
Before this we find the entity was near unto those lands of the present birth, in those periods when there were the settlings in the land, and the entity was among those of the frontiersmen - in the trading post upon Erie; then in the name Simon Short.
In the experience the entity made for activities that made for questioning forces in the experience. Only when there had come those influences that made for the protection of self that it might be used for a physical activity, or only when trouble had arisen by an injury in the body did the entity really gain in its soul development.
And then in association with a princess of the Iroquois did the entity make for those activities where help was given, aid was brought to others through the use of - in a judicial manner - those things that are as medicines, or as of nature's storehouse, or of that known rather as the naturopath - in the use to be sure of herbs, but in this the entity gained.
And there may be still heard occasionally those legends of how Simon Short in those experiences, in those days, made for a helpful force in gaining the confidences of those that were in distress, as well as making for associations that aided those of his own people as well as those of the companion's during that experience.
These of themselves become in the present a part of the entity's experience. And if there is definite application made in those directions there may be made in the material things an understanding and a helpful influence in the experience of the entity in the present.
Before that we find the entity was in the land now called the Persian. And the entity then was in a position of a counsellor to Xerxes (or Ahasuerus), during those periods when there were many changes wrought in the surroundings, and many were in authority and many in power of divers interpretations. HERE the entity then was what is termed in the present as an astrological soothsayer, for the entity understood the visions and dreams and activities of those peoples of old who had made bold to use the consideration of the influences upon not only man in his relationships but upon the fruits of the soil, upon the fowls of the air, upon the fish of the sea. And these combined made for the entity a position of power.
Not always was this used well. For oft these were turned into self-aggrandizements and for selfish motives and selfish purposes, and the entity finds in the present that there arises so oft those tendencies for the exaltation of self irrespective of those influences that may be brought for those that may be as companions or as associations, whether these be in office, in home, or in dealings with individuals or groups.
MIND those injunctions as given, if these would be turned into channels for good. These abilities and these inclinations for the activities in the present, unless they be tempered with not man-made judgment but with the wisdom as of the Creative Forces, may become as stumblingblocks in the experience of the entity.
Then the entity was in the name, as would be termed in English or in letters, Zeller.
Before that we find the entity was in the now known Egyptian land, during those periods when there were turmoils and strifes owing to the rebellion forces that had arisen during those periods of the exile of the Priest that had made purport towards the activity of establishing the correlations of truths from the various centers or groups through the earth.
The entity then was among those that made for joining with the Priest in the exile, and during those periods when in the Abyssinian land (that has been overrun with an idea) there came into the experience of the entity those influences through those interpretations of the planetary forces in the earth, the activities upon which were based much of that in the replacing and in the building and in the research that went on among those peoples in that experience. And it may be said to be that period when the entity IN THE EARTH gained the most.
In the application of same in the present, let these be in line with that thou gained then - Life is of the Creative Force, it is a manifestation of same in the earth. And lest these be turned into selfish motives, keep in the faith then of the ONE SOURCE of supply, that there may be no reckoning with the turmoils of the flesh in those that make for gainsayings in the experiences with others.
As to the abilities of the entity in the present, then, and that to which it may attain and how:
MUCH of those influences in the earth are to be met in the present, each in its own sphere, each in its own activity; whether dealing in relationships to the Creative Forces applying to self or dealing with the fellow man in thy reckoning same in their daily life, or in their relationships to their fellow man, or to the influences of the Creative Forces in their lives.
These as we find be the work of the entity, as has been indicated in its experiences through the earth. Hence first seek the kingdom of God WHILE it may be found! Then study to show thyself approved unto Him in thy advice, in thy counsel; keeping self UNSPOTTED from the world, that thine own conscience smiteth thee not; that thy own undertakings come not back upon thee. For it is self that one is continually meeting in the relationships with others. For as ye sow, so shall ye reap.
Combine this then with that as He, the Law, gave: "Though the heavens and the earth shall pass, my word shall not pass but shall be fulfilled EVERY WHIT, every iota, every tittle. For the earth and the heavens are the Lord's and the fulness thereof." Keep thy hands CLEAN before the LORD; and there will be no fear, no doubt of their being clean before thy fellow man.

(Q) What is the meaning of the present Astrological influences at play in my horoscope?
(A) That there are to be opportunities for self-expression and for worldly position and means to come into the use or direction of the entity.
(Q) Am I best located in my present employment and, if not, what changes would you suggest?
(A) In the present employment, well located. In that for which the entity should fit self, still better located.
(Q) [...] (generally called [...]), my father, has not been heard from in twenty years. Can he, if living, or his body if he has passed on, be located?
(A) Not from THIS approach, for we have only those records of the entity here - as seeking.
(Q) Should I sell the house I am living in or should I keep it?
(A) Keep it for the present. When there is again a change in the administration activities for a greater reaction, then these will be in a position to be more valuable - and those to which the entity may attain, more desirable.
(Q) At what stage in its development is my soul and what is the major purpose of my present incarnation?
(A) As to the rules of the old Persian, three. As to those influences that make for its development, TO MEET SELF that it may become more and more the channel and more and more a companion for Creative Forces.

7/21/36 Letter from [1221]: Dear Brother Cayce: "We received the two readings and your subsequent personal note in which you ask for some comment as to my reaction to the same. First of all, let me say that it is a highly interesting phenomena and is in accord, in principle, with other experiences I have witnessed. There can be no doubt that when you suppress your consciousness (through sleep or trance or any other method) your subconscious self is so positive that it is attuned to vibrations in the cosmos to such an extent that your spiritual self focuses them upon the information desired and through your physical being your subconscious is able to express the cosmic realities which take place. I say this is apparent for I have not yet had the pleasure of scientifically witnessing what actually does take place at the time you receive these impressions. With your permission, I am going to do so at the earliest opportunity for I believe you undoubtedly have something which can be rationally explained to those with a philosophic turn of mind - those who have not destroyed their innate at-one-ness with the macrocosm. I hope this will be sufficient comment until I have had this further opportunity.
"You will be interested to know that through various sources which are available to me, I hope in the not distant future to attempt to locate any records which may be available of Simon Short in whose physical form my soul at one time gained experiences."

10/24/49 He wrote expressing interest in A.R.E. lectures and talking with HLC.
5/25/50 He indicated he was too busy with the astrological society to devote time or money to A.R.E. activities, but he was still interested.
2/19/60 He requested exact birth data of Edgar Cayce, which was sent.
6/14/73 Newspaper article announced that his widow, Mrs. [1219], was speaking at an astrological convention, and that Mr. [1221] had been the founder of the particular association of astrologers.
