(Q) Any other advice for this body, either physical or
spiritual?
(A) There should be kept, to be sure, a hopeful,
constructive attitude as to its material and physical
welfare, as well as in its spiritual application and
spiritual attitudes. For each soul should gain that
understanding that whatever may be the experience, if there
is not resentment, if there is not contention, if there is
not the giving of offense, it is for then that soul's own
understanding, and will build within the consciousness of
the soul itself that which may bring the greater
understanding of the spiritual in the physical body.
Then let the prayer, the meditation, ever be:
"HERE AM I, LORD. THOU KNOWEST MY FAULTS, THOU KNOWEST MY
WEAKNESSES: YET I AM THINE, AND THOU WOULD USE ME AS THOU
SEEST FIT. LET THY WILL, O GOD, BE DONE IN AND THROUGH ME,
IN SUCH MEASURES THAT I MAY BE A CHANNEL OF BLESSINGS TO
OTHERS. FOR AS I FORGIVE, MAY I BE FORGIVEN. AS I BLESS
MAY I BE BLESSED BY THY LOVE AND THY PRESENCE.
"THEN KEEP ME IN THE WAYS, IN BODY, IN MIND, IN SPIRIT, THAT
I SHOULD GO."

REPORTS
12/10/36 Mr. [
333]'s letter: "In anticipation of the
approaching season of cold weather I wanted to make some
arrangement to provide green plantain for [
1242]. I had the
hunch that if I could get acquainted with the man who runs
the hot houses for experimental and restoration work as a
branch of the Dept. of Agriculture that I would find a real
human being who would agree to grow plantain during the
winter months, and so it turned out. By making inquiries
in one of the buildings where this work is carried on and
telling my story I was directed to Dr. Percy L. Ricker, Asst.
Botanist, Forage Crop investigations. He knows a lot about
herbs, plants, and flowers and plantain too. He gave me a
lot of information and I in turn told him a lot about you
and your work. He is very much interested. I am afraid,
though, that we are going to get stuck for plantain for a
few weeks unless you could find some willing boy or girl
to pick some down your way and mail it to [
1242]."
12/14/36 EC's reply: "It does not grow here but very little,
too close to ocean; have tried several times to get same.
Should be able to get it from someone around Asheville, N.C.
Most of the medical herbs grow in that vicinity. One of
the largest crude drug houses in the country is there -
S. B. Penick and Co.; am sure you could get it from them
if impossible to get otherwise."
12/18/36 Mr. [
1242] had a hemorrhage and they phoned for an
emergency reading.
