8/22/43 Husband's letter: "It was in 1936 that my wife,
received a health reading from Mr. Edgar Cayce.
"But being a student of the Rosicrucian Fellowship of Max
Heindel, I really never gave it much more thought, until in
the August number of the Rosicrucian Magazine, I find the
story writing by Emid S. Smith, Ph.D. of 'Rebirth Among
Children', In it Mr. Edgar Cayce is related in quite a few
stories.
"My interest is in his book, 'There is a River'. The story
of Edgar Cayce, Henry Holt, New York, Thomas Sugrue writes
the biography of him.
"Will you please state the price of same and how I may obtain
same and also other literature pertaining of Esoteric nature.
"I am very much interested in all of Mr. Edgar Cayce work,
and would very much like some day to come in personal contact
with him pertaining to some of the spiritual contacts he
makes, for I am trying hard to help Humanity, in the way of
Truth, without a personal gain..."
8/27/43 Edgar Cayce's reply to husband's letter:
"Thanks for yours of the 22nd. I am sending you under
separate cover the booklet about the work here also the
announcement of the book and how and why you may obtain it.
I am quite interested of what you say about your wife's
reading, and if she did anything about it. Of course, it is
only in the application that help may come. This is known by
experience.
"Thank you for your letter and I hope you will write me again
and let me have the report of just how Mrs. [
1281] is getting
along.
"Hoping to be of a real service."
