12/07/36 EC's letter to Mr. [
1291]:
"...I have yours of the 25th. But as we just kept on staying
at Lucille's, we just got home last Friday morning. Hence
the delay in writing you. Glad to hear from you, for I don't
know when I have ever met two people that I have thought more
of in the same time than you and your lovely wife [
1294]. I
do hope you found the young man [
1292] well and happy. I am
sure he was glad to see you both.
"We went through the file and found the reading had for your
brother. [
1727-1] This is a Life reading. I don't wonder
he dropped it aside, and forgot all about it. It will no
doubt though be of more interest to him now that he can see
how some things told him have happened, or maybe averted or
the like; and of special interest to you as you will see
where and when you must have been associated with him before,
even from the boy's [
1292] and your wife's [
1294] reading you
can see it. And the Lord knows there could not possibly be a
mind that was normal to remember all these. For, in fact, I
did not know he had had a reading. I will be most anxious to
know what you think of this now that you read it with the
little contact you have had with the work. Write me what you
think, please, won't you. You know me well enough to know I
am not looking for a pat on the back, for the kick in the
pants helps the fellow with the big head the most. While I
hope I haven't that, but tell me what you honestly think.
"We had a lovely visit with Lucille and Dave. [David E. Kahn
and Lucille Kahn] I just hope we did not wear our welcome
out. But I think of and feel toward them as if they were my
own people. I know I couldn't love them any better were they
my own blood kin.
"Please remember us to Mrs. [
1294]. You know, we all could
not help but loving her. I trust you are feeling the best in
the world. Also remember us to the young man. [
1292] He
must be fine. I'm sure he is keeping you thinking, but make
him your Pal, for that is how you did handle him and can
again.
"With very best to you and Mrs. [
1294]..."
