This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the home of David E. Kahn, 20 Woods Lane, Scarsdale, New York, this 15th day of November, 1936, in accordance with request made by the parents, through Associate Membership of the father, Mr. [1291], in the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., Virginia Beach, Va.

Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. [1294] and [1291] and [903]. Born November 10, 1933, in St. Anthony's Hospital, Oklahoma City, Okla.

TEXT

1. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [1292].
2. In giving the interpretation of those records, much might be given as to the sources or as to how these interpretations are made of the acts and experiences of the entity in the earth's plane as well as those sojourns in the environs about the earth.
3. Each soul, each body, each individual, is an individual entity; and that done, that thought, becomes as a living record of the experience of that individual entity as related to the environs, the activities of the entity in whatever sphere of consciousness this activity may be and is recorded upon the skein of time and space.
4. In interpreting these there is given that which may be helpful or beneficial in the application of the entity in respect to the present experience.
5. Much crowds in to be said regarding the necessities there will be of guiding and directing this entity during the formative years of its experience in this particular sojourn. For as is seen from the astrological indications, from the appearances of the entity and the activities in the earth, the entity is very sensitive, very high-strung; inclined to be very stubborn, inclined to be very much expressive of its feelings and of its activities.
6. Hence the necessities for REASONING with rather than against the entity; for to the entity in all its developing life there must be given a REASON FOR that which is given it to do, to be, or to even THINK!
7. For the entity is an old soul, and an Atlantean; that, guided and directed, may not only make for a development for self but the world, the surroundings, the environs a much better place for not only self but others to experience opportunities in.
8. In interpreting then the astrological influences, we find these as the outstanding influences of that which is innate in the experience and by development, by application, may become as manifestations in this experience:
9. Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Venus. These especially are the outstanding influences, because of the sojourns of the entity in or from those environs. Thus we find these will be and are outstanding traits that will be developed and that do develop:
10. A high mental ability; quick to grasp what is meant or pointed out or demonstrated to the entity, whether this be in respect to conditions, to people, to FEELINGS of people as they react. And the entity will quickly gain in self by even the presence of individuals as to their temperament, as to their feelings or reactions.
11. Thus the entity is a very sensitive individual. It will be seen that there are seldom any strangers to the entity, yet some will remain strangers ever to the entity no matter how oft or in what manner they are thrown together.
12. The likes and dislikes then as the entity finds same in the development must be not only reasoned with but shown why there should be proper consideration given EVERY individual whom the entity may contact. Not merely as policy (for the entity will ever form its OWN policies, and will dictate unless there is shown how and why the ideas or ideals are NOT the best or for the best under every circumstance).
13. The friendships, as from the Venus influence are very strong. Hence accentuating likes and dislikes as to individuals, also as to circumstances. For that the entity may have experienced or does experience is not only of a physical nature but may be also developed as to the mental and spiritual nature of the entity. For this is a very outstanding influence in the entity's make-up. And this will be seen from not only the astrological but the material sojourns also.
14. Mars indicates the quick temperament; quick to show resentments, quick to make for actions or decisions.
15. Hence the greater necessity in the experience of those training the entity through the formative years that the ideas and ideals expressed do not arise from custom or hearsay or just policy but from basic principles of spiritual awakenment.
16. For the entity will ever be tending towards an idealistic nature. Hence if these influences are destroyed in the lives of individuals, or the understanding not gained by the entity as to why there is the fault or failure of individuals in promises or activities or associations, these would tend to make for the losing of confidence not only in others but in self.
17. And the loneliest person, the loneliest individual, yea the loneliest entity is one who has lost hold upon his own self!
18. As to the appearances then in the earth and those that make for the manifestations, and will give expressions for activity as may be seen not only in the present but as developments progress in this experience, we find:
19. Before this the entity was in the land of the present nativity, during those periods when there were the settlings of the western land - or that period known as the "forty-niners."
20. The entity then, in the name Glenn Goldenson, made for settlements in that known as the golden portion of the California lands.
21. There arose disputes, dissensions. While those activities of the entity were in those natures as to law and order correct, through the very activities of others who so overran the land, disappointments and disillusionments came to the entity as to other peoples' ideas of justice.
22. Hence you will find in the experience in the present even, when there are activities of any nature that take hold upon those things that deal with the individual's privileges, the individual's activities, there is a question in the entity as to WHY he is told to do this or that. Even in his infancy this experience and these activities become apparent.
23. Hence the necessity in the training of the whys, the wherefores of every order or every command that may be given the body.
24. The entity gained through the experience and never lost hold upon self in that experience, but these are then the assurances to the entity. For if asked in the present, "Can you do this or that," he will always answer he can, "if you show him."
25. In this activity, this should ever be then as an assurance for those that may train, may develop the entity. For from that experience there are those inclinations to ever seek new fields of activity. Whether these be in science, music, inventions or what not will depend upon the training and developments that are put as environs for the entity during the formative years.
26. For those things about the entity must be NEW. And little care is taken when these or anything or little things have lost their usefulness.
27. Hence to those that may develop or may aid: Do not be overawed or surprised when in the experiences the entity informs those about it that they are "out of date." For these become as a part of the entity from that experience; seeking the new, seeking the different, seeking the changes ever.
28. But if these inclinations are guided in those principles of purposefulness for a HOPEFULNESS in the mental and a purposefulness in the material as applied from SPIRITUAL purports, we will find these will become then as stepping-stones for the entity's training, the entity's activity in this experience.
29. Warnings here would be given as respecting firearms about the entity. For as in those days the experiences were to trust in the power of defense by strength, these are fearful experiences to the entity - as the fear of such explosions; or things of such nature cause a fear. Yet these as the body develops will become as a means of defense to the entity, unless guided and directed as to their PROPER place in the experiences of those that must in a mental and material and spiritual world trust to RIGHT and to purpose, rather than to might and main alone.
30. Before that we find the entity was in the land now known as or called the Roman Empire, during those periods when there were the expansions of the land; when various individuals were set not only as the dictators over various groups but as the directors of customs, not merely for the collecting of tax levies but for the directing of those various lands for preparations to be of a greater service to the Roman power.
31. The entity then was one Tertullianus, who oversaw the activities in portions of now Greece, Turkey and the Holy Land or Palestine land.
32. Hence the entity was not only a spokesman but one in authority. Thus the entity gained materially, gained mentally.
33. And in the present there are the abilities in those directions especially as to law and order, as was sought in the American experience and yet not losing hold upon self may be a portion of the entity's seeking and entity's development in the present experience.
34. For during those activities many of those things that have become as the orations of many of the Romans and Grecians were given their import by the entity, who spoke often for and against the activities of those in authority in Rome.
35. In the latter portion of the entity's experience it was given the greater authority.
36. Hence we will find that during those years when the entity has attained full majority, the greater change will come in the entity's choice of its activities. Then it should (or if the choice is so made) become as a judge in the Supreme Courts of the land of this the entity's chosen land.
37. Before that we find the entity was in that period when there were those returnings of the peoples of promise from bondage in the Egyptian land, when there were those activities that made for the choice of the leader, the lawgiver.
38. The entity was ONE of the two that were twenty-one when they left Egypt to enter the Promised Land.
39. Hence the entity was ever looked to as one to be counseled with, as one to be looked upon as a leader, as a sage in Israel; Caleb, then as the companion of Joshua, with the children of Judah that made for the cleansing of the land for that which became the Holy City; that has meant, did mean so much in the experience of the people as a people and of the world; that has had, does have so great a mental influence upon the world today, as it ever will.
40. For as then the entity founded same, its purposes, its desires, its activities were in the law of the LIVING God, that enjoined all those who would to draw nigh unto Him.
41. And in Him is the defense for EVERY ill, for every disturbance that may arise in the experience of the entity or any individual in a material world.
42. Too much might not be said respecting the entity's activities during that particular sojourn. Much may be read concerning same; and well, then, that the training of the entity include those admonitions of Moses, the leader of the entity then, and of Joshua, the companion of the entity.
43. For those laws are ever those things that in the experience of individuals in the material world make for a fortress of STRENGTH, as they did for the entity in that sojourn.
44. Before that we find the entity was in the Egyptian land, when there were those turmoils and strifes that arose from the activities of the natives with those who became as leaders and teachers and rulers of the land, when the peoples and the King banished the Priest.
45. Then the entity was among those that were with the Priest during those banishments, and aided in gaining those activities as combined from the Atlanteans that made for the correlating of the teachings of the earth in those days.
46. Thus the entity, with the settling of the disputes, with the enjoining of the peoples during those periods to become as ONE in purpose, in activity, made many of the trips to or the connections with the land of Saneid, Mu, On [?], and the NOW Caspian and the Pyrenees land.
47. Thus we may find, as has ever been shown, the urge for the seeking out of NEW EXPERIENCES in the present sojourn.
48. Hence the trainings again in the law or in those things as may pertain to activities of NEW conditions, new environs, new surroundings, should be the tendencies and the possibilities set in the way of the entity for its greater development.
49. Then the entity was in the name Shu-Putel.
50. Before that we find the entity was in the Atlantean land, when there were those activities that brought about the first upheavals, and the use of those influences that brought destruction to the land.
51. For the entity then was among those of the Law of One, but was persuaded by and with the leaders of the land to apply spiritual laws for MATERIAL gains.
52. Thus it brought or aided in bringing what eventually became the destruction of the material lands.
53. The name then, as would be called now, was Aahuen.
54. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, then, as may be seen:
55. Much depends upon what is put in the way of the entity in its formative years, as to what direction the choice will take.
56. Then, EVER temper the advice, the counsels to the entity in the daily life not only by precepts but by examples; yet the precepts should be a plenty. For, as of old, write them upon thy doorposts, put them into the hearts of thy children as in thy conversation, and when they have grown to years of maturity they will not depart from those teachings that ALONE bring harmony, peace and worth-whileness in the experience of an entity in the earthly sojourn.
57. Those tendencies for the law, those tendencies for oratory are a portion of the entity INNATELY, and may be made the greater manifestations.
58. Hence the law, as we would find, should be the training; no matter WHAT may be the choices in its manifestations of its activities in the earth; as WELL as the law of the land in relation to other lands - or INTERNATIONAL law. Not only these but the law of the Lord also.
59. Ready for questions.
60. (Q) What advice to the parents in training this child?
    (A) As has been indicated, positiveness. Not severity in bodily or penal punishments, but rather the counsel as to WHY, and the purposes of such directions - because these will bring physically, mentally, the better development for the body in every direction.
61. (Q) What associations has the entity had in the past with his present mother, [1294] and when?
    (A) The mother was then the daughter of Caleb!
62. (Q) What should be the proper association in the present?
    (A) Much as then. Not that the mother takes guidance from the child or the developing entity. But the day will arise when this will be as the experience. For the entity is one of a dictatorial nature; not as a dictator but as a counselor.
    Hence their attitude should be that of love as shown in not merely affection or sentiment but as purposefulness in holding to the truth of the associations of a soul, of an entity, with the Creative Force - God.
63. (Q) What association in the past with his present father, [1291], and how may they mean the most to each other in the present?
    (A) In the appearance just previous to this, the present father was then as a close associate of the entity - as a friend. In the land of the returning or journeying from Egypt, the present father was then a companion of the entity - among the spies that spied out the land.
    Hence we will find in their associations there will arise periods in the present when the entity will doubt its own parent's direction. Yet if these are kept aright they will be made to be more of a helpful experience to both.
64. (Q) Should the entity go to kindergarten next year?
    (A) If there is the right kind of kindergarten, yes. For the sooner there is not only the governing but the directing of the entity toward a purposefulness, the better.
65. (Q) What type of nurse would be best for this child?
    (A) One that is patient, longsuffering; but most of all one that KNOWS the LAW! Not of the land, but of God!

REPORTS

1. 11/15/36 EC on awaking from this Life Reading again told of remembering going for the akashic record, and of being given the book containing [1292]'s record. He said:
   "It was the cleanest record I've ever experienced (in these dreams or visions of going for the records). The book was the cleanest, yet I had never thought before that any of them were not perfectly clean."
2. 11/18/36 The mother of [1292], Mrs. [1294], obtained a Life Reading. See 1294-1, Par. 50-A indicating she was his daughter in the experience as Caleb.
