12/14/36 EC's letter to [
1296]:
"Just have yours of 11th. Glad you are getting started on
your treatments. You should soon be feeling a whole lot
better and not necessary for you to take the tablets, but
surely if you need them take them but gradually get away from
them as fast as your condition permits. To be sure the baths
and rubs will help clear the system.
"Mrs. [
1296], have you ever tried the enemas instead of so
much laxative? A laxative only excites the mucomembranes and
is an unnatural thing for you but if you will use a fountain
syringe as a means for the enema, do not have water hotter
than temperature of body, nor colder either, and then use in
each two quarts of water you use heaping teaspoon of table
salt and a level teaspoon of soda dissolving same well before
using or putting into the fountain syringe. You will find it
will not hurt you even tho' you take these most every day and
they will assist rather than hinder the natural activity of
the bowels. Try that each day that you do not have the
natural inclination for movement.
"When there is a special diet needed it usually gives it.
Yes all kinds of nuts, especially almonds, hazelnuts and
pecans are usually suggested, of course that would include
Hickory nuts also.
"Please feel free to write any time and ask just as many
questions as you wish. If can give you an answer will ask
the reading. Usually we get one then.
"Hoping you will soon be feeling a whole lot better.
"With all good wishes and hoping you have the Happiest
Christmas you have had in a long time..."
1/07/37 Mr. [
333]'s letter: "Mrs. [
1268] and husband heard
from Mrs. [
1296], the arthritis case out in Ohio, around
Christmas time, and there has been a very decided and
remarkable improvement."
2/02/37 [
1296]'s letter to Edgar Cayce:
"I will be at my home, ... Street, ..., Ohio, between the
hours of 10:30 to 11:30 Eastern Standard time Saturday the
6th.
"I believe I told you, after having an attack of sciatic
rheumatism, the ligaments under my knees became shorter,
causing me to bend over when I walk. The knees are very
sore. If I could just straighten up. Of course I am not
bent double, but I'm not straight. The knees hurt so badly
when I walk. What will stretch those ligaments? Do not feel
strong and am so tired. Have been taking cold after bath and
massages, which lasts for a few days. My bronchitis seems
better. I am in a terrible sweat after bath, and
perspiration pours out of me while Mr. [...] massages. I am
thoroughly dried after bath. I get into the blankets and
rest as you said. My right hand out of shape. I use it so
much in writing and paring. Now, I'm sure you will fix me
up." Very truly [
1296]
3/14/37 Mr. [
333]'s letter: "Mrs. [
1296] is doing fine."
