1/31/37 Letter from Mrs. [
1158] to EC: "...Dr. [
1334] is
very interested for me to get his Life Reading. I told Dr.
& Mrs. [
1480] that a reading of mine had indicated that I was
related to Dr. [
1334] in some former life, but that his life
reading would have to be taken in order to find out more
specifically about it. The whole idea of reincarnation was
more or less a new one to them (tho not distasteful). In
fact, Dr. [
1334] said, at once, that he had a feeling the
first time he saw me that he had known me before, (altho he
knew in this life he never had) and when the idea of previous
lives was suggested, he said he would tell his wife what he
thought the relationship was, and then wait and see if the
Reading was similar to his own instinctive reaction to the
idea.
"His wife is very much interested in Psycho-analysis, and
believes it will help her husband in helping treat his
patients, so they want advice as to whether this is a
constructive step for Dr. [
1334] to take. Also, they and
I are equally interested to trace the former relationships.
"Thank you, dear friend, for your illuminating and revealing
service. Hoping this finds Mrs. Cayce feeling fine, and all
moving along an upward trend..."

1158]'s letter: "I was thrilled with
Dr. [
1334]'s reading. I think it was one of the best I have
read. It was so straightforward, and plainly set forth, so
complete and so constructive, and beautiful. We thank you,
and ask blessings for you, from the Giver of all good gifts."
2/15/37 [
1334]'s ltr. to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce
Virginia Beach,
Virginia
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Received your letter of Feb. 9th and my reading. I do find
my reading of much interest and value. Was always somewhat
fascinated by the names Pelos and Cornwall and never
understood just why.
You very kindly asked me to ask you any question concerning
my reading. One question that was asked was "Will
psychoanalysis broaden and enrich my personal life and
increase my field of service?" Answer "It will".
Q-2 [1334-1, Par. 48-Q] "When and with whom ought I to
begin work?"
A-2 "Van Dyke."
Is it possible for you to enlighten me further on this point?
I know of no Van Dyke in this field at the present time but
undoubtedly there is such a man. What I question is the time
for me to begin such work. The questions bothering me at
present are 1. Am I ready to begin this work now? 2. Is
practice of Osteopathy in an advanced enough stage to warrant
my turning my attention to Psycho-analysis?
If you gleaned enough from the first reading to enlighten me
on these points I would be happy to know just what to do.
I expect to see Mrs. [
1158] soon and will ask her to go over
the reading with me as no doubt there is much material she
can point out to me.
Thanking you for your help I wish to remain
Sincerely yours [
1334]

she is quite worth while, for on another occasion the reading
