This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 13th day of February, 1937, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [...], new associate Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by her cousin, Mrs. [903].

TEXT

1. EC: ("1792" - given in undertone) [Perhaps room number of hotel?].
2. Yes, we have the body, [1339].
3. Now as we find there are disturbing conditions.
4. While those applications that are being maintained are at times helpful, we find that unless other changes are wrought the effect of this constant strain upon the mucous membranes through the excess activity to keep down the flows of those fluids in system which produce a tendency for growth or for obesity will produce conditions that will make for hardships later on.
5. As we find, the disturbing conditions are necessary glandular in the system. And it is the excess of the glands that causes the growth or development in the system in those directions that become disturbing to the body.
6. These are the activities in the brush end of the cerebro-spinal system, and thus extend through the activities in most of the organs of the body - as to assimilation, as to digestion, as to the activities through the system.
7. Hence as we would find, to change the vibratory forces of the body-functioning and to bring about through this change greater or better coordination and normalcy in the distribution of energies in the body, we would find more effective and more perfect coordination throughout the whole body.
8. Then, activities or exercise, diet AND the vibratory forces would be the main or direct activities rather than such great strains by either injections or the taking of medical influences or forces into a system that is already severely deranged.
9. As we would find then, we would begin immediately - or as soon as this may be arranged - with the activities from the Radio-Active Appliance. This to be attached to opposite extremities of the body, every day, and preferably let it be at the period when the body rests - and between the noon meal and the evening meal. Attach for at least twenty minutes - that is, set up the Appliance twenty minutes before it is to be attached to the body. Attach to opposite extremities; that is, right wrist, left ankle; right ankle, left wrist. This would be for thirty to forty-five minutes each day for three to four weeks, leave off a period of two weeks and then apply again for three to four weeks.
10. Once a week we would have a deep therapy of the electrical vibrations from the sinusoidal ray, which would take or use those attachments which make for reverse vibrations. Attach the plates to the umbilicus or lacteal duct center (or over the gall duct or lacteal duct center) and to the 2nd and 3rd dorsal center. Not too high but set as REVERSE coil reaction, you see, to empty these. Once a week, and for not more than three to five minutes of this reaction.
11. Once a month have a thorough general osteopathic manipulation to ADJUST all of the cerebrospinal segments. These will be found to change somewhat, but make specific the raising of the coccyx end, adjustments in the 12th dorsal, adjustments in the 3rd and 4th cervical; but these should not be too often nor all adjustments necessary attempted to be made at one time. So, do not have them oftener than once a month. And there will be required, of course, from six to eight to ten treatments, or adjustments AND general massage.
12. In the diet: Abstain from great quantities of starches. Most of the breads (if any are taken) should be of the Rye Bread or Ry-Krisp. One meal each day should consist of green raw vegetables. No potatoes with meats. No starches that have the greases should be taken at the same time with meats. Use grape juice rather than water; and whether this is two, three, four, five glasses a day, let it be taken with half water (but not carbonated water) and half pure grape juice.
13. The exercises should be those that make for an activity of those areas above the diaphragm of morning, those below the diaphragm of evening. These should be taken for five to ten minutes. Such exercises as the circling of the head, the arms above the head, the bending from the waist only, for the morning exercise; while in the evening there would be the stooping, the rotary motion, the swinging of the lower limbs, the circular motion of the waist.
14. And we will find, we will keep the digestive system functioning properly, we will keep a better normal development for the body.

16. (Q) What about present treatment being taken? Should this all be discontinued?
    (A) As we find, this would be better to gradually or as soon as possible to begin the other, discontinue the greater portion.
17. (Q) What effect has Epsom Salts on the body?
    (A) To drain the alimentary canal in such a manner that eventually it will make for a hardship upon the body. This naturally keeps down weight.
18. (Q) What weight is best for body?
    (A) That nominal or normal for the height, age and development. This should be near to normal if the balances are kept and created through the activities of the vibratory forces so that the pineal and the pituitary shall become normal as working with the thyroids.
19. (Q) What originally caused her condition?
    (A) GLANDULAR condition, as has been indicated - a pressure in coccyx end producing a pressure upon the brush end, in such a manner as to affect the activity of the pineal.
20. (Q) Has she been properly diagnosed?
    (A) As has been indicated, partially so.
21. (Q) Any further advice?
    (A) Do that as we have given if we would find the better conditions.
22. (Q) Please explain why she should not drink water.
    (A) This is to meet the needs for the particular forces and influences in the body!
23. (Q) Any special kind of grape juice?
    (A) Pure grape juice; not that that's fermented.

   (3) What was the physician's analysis of this condition? He said she had "Pituitary gland" trouble.
   (4) Have the suggestions given in the Reading been followed exactly as outlined? Not exactly but similar treatment.
   (5) For how long? Four and a half months.
   (6) Describe the extent to which improvements have resulted? She has lost considerable weight and can eat more now with out gaining so much.

   Name Miss [1339] (1) Did the Reading presented to you describe the condition of the Patient? (b) Explain any variation. (c) Give your technical diagnosis. (a) Yes. (b) There were no variations. (c) She has this gland disorder.
   (2) Were the suggestions for treatment in your opinion proper for this condition? I think the suggestions were proper and I do not give her any more salts regularly or and [any?] injections.
   (3) For what period of time has the patient followed directions given in the Reading under your care? About four months.
   (4) What results have you observed? Her blood pressure is about normal she is a perfect size (altho she still must watch her diet). She feels better about not taking the antutrin "SHOTS", and can eat a little more sweets.
